00:00Hi Vogue, I'm Womi Masaku.
00:02And today I'm gonna walk you through my skincare routine.
00:07I'm not gonna say it's a daily one.
00:09It's gonna be more of a involved,
00:11like when I'm wearing a lot of makeup,
00:13going to a lot of events.
00:14This is what I do to take care of my skin.
00:16And then I'm gonna do a quick like daily makeup.
00:22My first step is a cleanser.
00:24This is by Shia Radiance.
00:28Oh no, I've broken the pump.
00:34Everyone thinks that I'm like cool and collected.
00:38I am chaos.
00:41So next is this toner, Black Seed Toner by Sable.
00:47And I just, I love the smell of this.
00:49Smells amazing.
00:55I feel like my mom is really kind of,
00:59she's so au naturel and, and you know,
01:03our skin routine was really just like cocoa butter and Vaseline.
01:08Soap and water, African black soap.
01:11But yeah, I didn't really have a routine.
01:12I was like, I used to use my Sapo sponge,
01:16which is like a fishing net.
01:19I used to use that on my face too.
01:21Like I was not gentle with my face until about the pandemic.
01:25Shiseido Activating Essence.
01:27I use this every single day.
01:29It's very, very delicious.
01:35When I decided to be an actor,
01:36I really thought it was going to be a career on the stage.
01:39I didn't see too many people who looked like me,
01:44who felt like me, who had,
01:46I didn't even see stories of people about people like me,
01:52like people who came from different countries at young ages
01:55and, you know, black and British,
01:58the nuances of our lives.
02:03And so I think I became an actor,
02:05not really knowing what was in store,
02:07just knowing that I loved stories and I loved theatre.
02:11Like theatre is my number one love.
02:13So my big dream was like, I was going to be a theatrical actress
02:17and do Shakespeare and da, da, da, da.
02:19And I haven't done a play in way too long.
02:22It felt like a gamble.
02:23It felt like a risk.
02:24I didn't know what was in store,
02:26but I was just kind of like, let's see.
02:29Let's see what happens.
02:30This is a stem cells face serum by Uzo.
02:34And this goes on really nicely under my makeup.
02:38A couple of pumps.
02:40I just love my job.
02:42I love being on set.
02:44I love the stories that we tell.
02:46I'm kind of up for anything that feels like it moves people
02:51or changes people.
02:53And the things that I do are very different from a lot of the things that I watch as well.
03:02So I feel like I really have a broad appreciation of the whole industry.
03:07So I love to watch a lot of comedy and I love musicals.
03:11And then I've got this face oil by Shia Radiance again.
03:17And it's Boba oil and it's vitamin C.
03:21And I've been using this because I've been trying to get rid of these dark spots.
03:25And since I've not been out of the house much with the baby,
03:28I'm wearing my glasses and I've been getting these pad marks here.
03:31So I've been using that to kind of try to brighten it up a bit.
03:37One thing I really love about all of these products is how they source their ingredients from West Africa.
03:44All of these are black owned and woman owned products.
03:49This is again from Ouzo.
03:52This is the stem cell moisturizer.
03:53And this makes your makeup really zing on top.
03:57It's perfect for underneath.
04:03My skin is definitely...
04:06I don't know if my skin has changed, but my bags are bigger and they're darker.
04:12Exhaustion is on my face more since becoming a mom.
04:16Speaking of black owned woman-o, here's my homemade body butter, which is not for sale.
04:24But I do make this every couple of months.
04:28It's like Shia butter straight from Ghana, coconut oil, cocoa butter, sweet almond oil,
04:35and then whatever essence I fancy, lavender, orange, whatever.
04:42And then I whip it up into a little butter.
04:44And I put this on my body.
04:46Everything away.
04:49For me personally, I feel like I'm very much drawn towards like the natural,
04:58like just everything being more natural and holistic.
05:02I love, you know, I played Annie and she was a herbalist and I've been doing a herbalism course.
05:07So I've been learning about all these herbs that are good for your skin, for your digestion,
05:11for your, I don't know, everything, your immune system.
05:14And I, when I see these products that have like balba oil in it, I'm like,
05:19yeah, I know that that's good for this.
05:21Or shea butter or, like I said, calendula.
05:24So now I'm going to go into my concealer.
05:26This is Lancome.
05:28It's, I think it's called Skin Glow Serum Concealer.
05:32I don't wear a lot of makeup.
05:34This is, this is, I'll tell you what I'm doing.
05:37I'm doing my audition makeup.
05:39This is what I wear when I go in for an audition.
05:42So I do under the eyes, on the chin, around there, and then a bit here.
05:52I think about Sinners, that was basically just like a tinted oil on my skin,
05:58which was really quite nice because it was so hot and everyone was sweating so much.
06:04It was like, if you had to deal with concealer and foundation and that's the heat,
06:10it would have just been game over.
06:12So this is my version of contouring.
06:15I've got a little dot here.
06:19Don't know if it does anything, but it makes me feel like it's doing something.
06:23So I did a film last year with Sir Idris Elba now.
06:29The makeup haul for that was very long.
06:32And I mean, she was just kind of full glam, like full red carpet glam.
06:39It felt like every single day.
06:41So next is Pat McGrath, another black owned, woman owned.
06:46And so this is a blusher and no, like a high, no, a bronzer.
06:54This is a bronzer.
06:55And I'm just going to put a little bit here.
06:58A bit of this one.
07:00So in The Social Reckoning, I play someone who's kind of very,
07:05just kind of buttoned up and very professional.
07:09So my makeup was really simple, like a nice eyeshadow, nice eyeliner.
07:15She's professional, you know, is not trying to make a splash,
07:19but needs everyone to like take her seriously.
07:21She's kind of the ringleader in a way.
07:23And like, everybody's like kind of looking to her.
07:26Like she's the conductor, I would say.
07:29Okay. So now I'm going to go in with my lipid eyeliner.
07:36Oh, that wasn't too bad.
07:38I want to put some more concealer on that glasses pad right there.
07:45I'm launching a maternity line, nursing line called ER Day.
07:51ER Day by Wummi.
07:52And so I design all my, all my pieces are nursing friendly.
07:56So you can wear them way past postpartum.
08:00Like I wear them because they're great at hiding messy toddler food spills
08:06and still look kind of cute doing it.
08:08This is called like Adire, which means in Yoruba, it means to tie and dye.
08:13So, um, yeah, I've been designing the fabrics and yeah, that's what I do in my spare time.
08:19This is like a flutter extension.
08:26Okay. So then I've got some Sable lip balms.
08:32I'm not sure which one I want to go for.
08:35I think maybe the Scotch bonnet.
08:36No, let's try the gel off.
08:39I'm going to go for the gel off.
08:47Cute little tint.
08:49I like it.
08:50This is my audition look.
08:52Let's hope I get the roll.
08:55Thank you so much Vogue.
08:56I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
09:00Thank you, Mr.
