00:00Did you know that the Bible says that King Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived?
00:06In today's video, we're going to look at nine amazing facts about his wisdom.
00:12Number one, when Solomon became king, instead of asking for wealth, power, or fame,
00:18he asked God for wisdom to rule over his people.
00:22And God was so pleased with this request that he gave him more than he could have ever imagined,
00:27along with riches and honor.
00:30Number two, there once was a dispute over a baby and two women claimed to be the mother.
00:37So Solomon, being the judge, suggested that they cut the child in half and give each woman a piece.
00:44But at this, the real mother cried out, saying, Oh, please don't kill the baby.
00:50And in that moment, Solomon knew that she was truly the mother and he gave her back her child.
00:56This is what we call the judgment of Solomon.
01:00Number three, people from all over the world came to hear King Solomon's wisdom,
01:06and many were amazed, so much so that his fame spread to the ends of the earth.
01:12Number four, it says that Solomon spoke 3,000 proverbs and wrote 105 songs.
01:19In these writings, he shared his wisdom about life, relationships, and God.
01:25Some of these writings are found in the books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes in the Bible.
01:31Number five, not only was Solomon wise when it came to people, but also the natural world.
01:38He studied plants, animals, birds, and fish, and was able to identify them all.
01:44Number six, one day the Queen of Sheba came to visit Solomon.
01:49She had heard about his wisdom and wanted to test him.
01:53She asked him difficult questions, but Solomon answered them all correctly.
01:59And she was amazed not only at his wisdom, but also at his wealth and the splendor of his temple.
02:05Number seven, with all of his wisdom, Solomon followed God's instructions
02:10and built the magnificent Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem.
02:15Number eight, although Solomon had great wisdom,
02:18he warned people not to be prideful or lazy and to not turn away from God.
02:24Many of his proverbs and sayings in the book of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes
02:29teach us about the consequences of foolish and wicked ways.
02:34Number nine, sadly, towards the end of his life,
02:38Solomon turned to worshipping other gods because of his many wives.
02:43This shows us that wisdom isn't just something we learn,
02:47but it's something we must live out in our obedience to God.
