During an interview with CNN's Manu Raju on Tuesday, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) answered a question about the House Oversight Committee's investigation into the Epstein files.

00:00So you don't think this House Oversight investigation is, the scope is wide enough?
00:05It's not wide enough, and then the resolution that the Speaker's going to have us vote on today,
00:11I was flattered to see that three pages of it were lifted directly from my legislation,
00:17originally written in my office, but the problem is they politely encouraged the DOJ to comply
00:25in the resolution that we're going to vote on, and they require the release of all materials
00:30in the possession of the Oversight Committee, not in the possession of the DOJ.
00:35So it's just not going to get it done.
00:38I mean, I do appreciate that James Comer is taking a look at the investigators,
00:42but what we care about are the perpetrators.
00:44What do you think of the fact that the Speaker did schedule this vote before your discharge permission could ripen?
00:50Well, everything that's happening here today is happening because Ro Khanna and I introduced this legislation.
01:00They would not be talking to victims if we weren't going to have a press conference with victims tomorrow.
01:05They would not be voting on something today if I weren't introducing this discharge petition today.
01:11So the efforts of Ro Khanna and I are driving what's happening here in Washington, D.C.
01:17It's not enough. What they're doing is not enough, but you'd have to be blind not to realize that they're reacting to what we're doing.
01:29And it's public pressure as well. I'm not taking credit for this.
01:31I've introduced the resolution, but it's the pressure from the American people.
