On the House floor, Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) demanded the release of the Epstein Files.
Transcript
00:00Mr. Speaker, release the Epstein files.
00:13The American people deserve the truth.
00:16The President promised the release of the Epstein files, and yet very rich and powerful
00:22interests are still working to bury them.
00:25Who are they protecting, the Washington elite, the billionaires, the politicians, the establishment
00:31class that thinks they're above the law, maybe even the President himself?
00:36We won't know for sure, and unless and until the President honors his promise to release
00:40the entirety of the files immediately.
00:44No one is above the law, not the rich, not the well-connected, not those who abuse the
00:47vulnerable and hide behind their privilege.
00:51The victims deserve justice.
00:52Our citizenry deserves transparency.
00:55Our democracy demands accountability, and every day these files remain hidden to another day,
01:01the elites laugh at the American people.
01:03I call on the Trump administration and its Department of Justice, release all the Epstein files unaltered,
01:10and I call on each of my colleagues to not shield the powerful, shine a light on the truth.
01:15That is the least we owe the violated victims, and the very least we owe our nation.
01:21Truth.
01:22Release the files.
01:23Thank you, and I yield back.
01:25For what purpose does the gentleman from Tennessee seek recognition?
01:28You owe the rest of the house for one minute if I limbs down.
