00:00Who were the first civilizations to set foot on our planet?
00:10Our history is written by the notes of the winners, of their power and influence over
00:15the centuries.
00:16But in a certain period of time, people from primitive hunters turned into intelligent
00:22civilizations that created monuments, calendars and ancient writings.
00:28All this has evolved to the present day and we are the descendants of some relatively
00:34intelligent beings.
00:36But what if it's not that simple?
00:40What if the stories told by ancient civilizations, the tales of gods and angels, of giants and
00:46great disasters were more literal than they first appeared?
00:51What if we received ancient knowledge beyond our human understanding?
00:56If we look at some of the details, an entirely alternate history of the human race suddenly
01:02surfaces.
01:04One that completely overturns conventional knowledge and the history we've been taught.
01:10This version has mostly been consciously censored, forgotten or worse, ignored.
01:16Until now, welcome to the new episode of Secret Origins.
01:30In the beginning of 1946, in the area currently known as the West Bank, a group of Bedouin teenagers
01:38tend their sheep and goats near the ancient settlement of Qumran.
01:43To pass the time, they toss around the stones they find through across the uneven desert terrain.
01:50When one of these stones is thrown into the dark side of a cave, the teenagers are shocked
01:56because they hear a loud shattering noise echoing inside.
02:02When they decide to follow their curiosity, although slightly scared, they discover a collection
02:08of large clay pots.
02:10While not realizing it at the time, these teenagers make a historical discovery of great importance.
02:18Inside the clay pots are hidden series of ancient scrolls.
02:23Subsequently, various archaeologists, historians and treasure hunters found additional fragments
02:29of scrolls in 10 other caves in the area, bringing the total number of manuscripts found to almost 900.
02:39These manuscripts became known to the masses as the Dead Sea Scrolls.
02:44Strangely, among these manuscripts, there are large portions of a mysterious, non-canonical, religious text
02:52long forgotten by human civilization, or so they thought.
02:57In our days, this text is known as the Book of Enoch.
03:02In its entirety, the Book of Enoch consists of five books.
03:07The Book of Watchers, the Book of Parables, the Astronomical Book, the Book of Dream Visions,
03:13and the Epistles of Enoch, containing about 100 chapters altogether.
03:19These chapters tell the story of the seventh patriarch in the Book of Genesis, Enoch, the
03:26father of Methuselah and the grandfather of Noah, the same Noah we know from the Bible.
03:32However, this is not the biblical story of Noah's Ark.
03:38In fact, the Book of Enoch provides an entirely different perspective on events leading up
03:44to the great flood of Noah's time, as that is a completely different story.
03:49It tells of the Watchers, explained in biblical terms as fallen angels, sent to Earth to watch
03:56over humans at some unspecified and ancient point in time.
04:02According to one of the earliest legends related to Enoch, he is the founder of the knowledge
04:07of astronomy and he is responsible for the compilation of the solar calendar.
04:14The Bene Elohim or the Sons of God or Gods number several hundreds.
04:20They are said to descend on Earth at Mount Harmon.
04:25It was a sacred place for both the Canaanites and the Jewels who invaded their lands.
04:31In later times, sanctuaries of the gods Baal, Zeus, Helios, Pan and the goddess Astarte were
04:39built on its slopes.
04:41And the term Watcher is used to describe one who watches, those who watch, those who are
04:47awake or those who are not asleep.
04:51These names reflect the unique relationship between the Watchers and the human race since
04:56ancient times.
04:58Over time, however, they abandoned their role as observers and began to have sexual contact
05:04with some of the humans, mostly women, and began to create what we know now as hybrids
05:10or crossbreds.
05:13The Book of Enoch tells of the Nephilim, the children born through this very crossbreeding
05:19between the Watchers and the humans.
05:22The Nephilim are described as giants and savages who threatened and plundered mankind, or to
05:28put it in another word, supernatural man-eating giants.
05:34Angered by what the Watchers had done, those described in the book as mighty gods sent the
05:40Watchers to an underground prison deep within the bowels of Earth.
05:45Enoch became the mediator between the gods and the imprisoned Watchers.
05:51This further provokes the wrath of Yahweh, and according to the Bible, the consequence
05:58of this mingling between the fallen and the mortals leads to the creation of half-angelic,
06:05half-human offspring.
06:07The book describes Enoch's journeys between heaven and earth in his role as mediator, how
06:14he flies with angels and sees the rivers and the mountains and the very ends of the earth
06:20from above.
06:21Despite Enoch's intervention, the gods decide that because of what the planet has become,
06:27it and all its inhabitants must be punished.
06:31Of course, the punishment is a great flood.
06:35This flood destroys the Nephilim and leaves the Watchers in their prison.
06:41Before that, however, Enoch has been taken to heaven in a chariot of fire.
06:47This is not the only place in the biblical canon in which the Nephilim appear.
06:52The Israelites visited a land inhabited by Nephilim, who were so large that they made the Israelites
06:59look like locusts.
07:01Of course, many things in the Bible are seen in modern times as allegorical, and this is
07:07more of a philosophical myth than a historical record.
07:12But there is archaeological evidence for one particular great flood in earth's history,
07:19which is mentioned in countless religions and cultural traditions around the world.
07:25Did creatures like the Nephilim really exist?
07:29Many people say that it is just fiction and there is no evidence.
07:34But what if there is?
07:36In fact, there are numerous stories about giants in human history.
07:41The well-known traveler and explorer Marco Polo once wrote of a race of giants in Zanzibar
07:47who were so strong that they could carry as much as four ordinary men, while the people
07:55of modern Tangier, Morocco once claimed that the founder of their city was a giant named Antaeus.
08:03According to an Irish myth, the so-called The Giant's Causeway on the northeast coast of
08:09Ireland, an astonishing 40,000 interlocking rock columns, was built by the Irish giant Finn
08:15McCool to cross the sea to Scotland and fight another giant.
08:21Apart from Norse legends, ancient Greek mythology is full of stories about giants.
08:27Perhaps if giants really existed, as records from countless cultures suggest, then the Book
08:34of Enoch begins to look less and less metaphorical and allegorical, less like a fantasy myth and
08:41more like a manuscript based on actual history.
08:46The idea of semi-divine heroes was born from ancient myths about alliances between gods and
08:53mortals.
08:54The poet and writer Pindan described the heroes of the past as a race between gods and men.
09:03Additional references allude to experiments that led to the creation of monsters by crossing
09:08animals of different and unrelated species.
09:12In modern philosophical occultism, there are legends of Los Atlantis where it is claimed that
09:19its scientists bred half-human, half-animal hybrids as the slave race.
09:27Records of such events can be found in the mythologies of ancient peoples around the world
09:33and especially among the Babylonians of Middle East.
09:36The story of Noah and the flood in the Old Testament is said to have originated in the Babylonian
09:43and Sumerian myths.
09:44It is known that around 10,000 BC there appears to have been a catastrophic event that transformed
09:52early humanity.
09:54At the end of the last ice age, the first signs of agriculture appeared in the Middle East
10:00with a shift from a nomadic hunter-gathered lifestyle to one of a settled agriculture.
10:08It is interesting to know that for centuries, the Book of Enoch has been an important part
10:14of Christian and Jewish religious traditions.
10:17Many of these religious sects accepted the book as scripture.
10:22Furthermore, some even suggest that the Book of Enoch was the inspiration for the Book of
10:28Genesis due to their many parallels and overlapping stories.
10:34Therefore, the question that arises is, what has happened?
10:39Why the Book of Enoch is not part of the Bible?
10:43And why does this question sound so unimportant nowadays?
10:48In attempt to answer this question, we will go back to the early centuries after the physical
10:53death of Christ.
10:56Far from the 39 canons of the Old Testament and the 27 New Testament books that we today
11:02know as the Bible.
11:04Originally, there were many Gospels and religious texts that made up the broad spectrum of the
11:10Christian tradition.
11:12As the Christians started spreading after the death of Jesus, the growing Christian church
11:18gradually began to choose which texts would be read and followed, which texts would be considered
11:25divinely inspired.
11:26The church needed unity, and to create it, the establishment of an official canon was required.
11:34In Dan Brown's book Da Vinci Code, this canonization is remembered as something rather nefarious that
11:42happened at the First Council of Nikea in the 4th century.
11:47According to the book, it was there that Emperor Constantine and the others high-ranking church
11:52authorities, led by their own secrets and desires, shaped official Christian canon.
12:00Unfortunately, this is not historically accurate.
12:03The Council of Nikea did not send the official Christian canon, but let's not blame Dan Brown.
12:09The famous philosopher Voltaire also made a similar claim in the 18th century.
12:16Although the story is not factually accurate, it is accurate in a sense.
12:22Why?
12:23The high-ranking members of the church are certainly there, choosing what is included in the official
12:29biblical canon.
12:30They argue among themselves, portray their opponents as heretics, and almost certainly
12:36seek to expand their own power.
12:39However, all this did not happen at one particular council, but rather it was a long process.
12:46That continued between the 1st and the 4th century.
12:50When the process was completed and the Bible was officially compiled, the Book of Enoch was
12:56not included.
12:59But how could something as meaningful and powerful as the Book of Enoch have been left out?
13:05Didn't they know about it?
13:07In the search for answers, one can examine other Gospels that were also censored from the
13:13final version.
13:14For example, the Gospel of Peter, a fragment of which was found in Egypt in 1886, which
13:21tells the long-missing story of the reborn Jesus leaving his tomb and includes two giant
13:29angels and a floating cross that says,
13:33And they heard a voice from heaven saying, You have preached to those who sleep.
13:39And an answer was heard from the cross, Yes.
13:44Or consider the Gospel of Mary, that notorious script in which Mary Magdalene is listed not
13:50only as one of Jesus' disciples, but as his beloved, perhaps even his wife.
13:57In this Gospel, Peter asks why he and the other disciples should listen to Mary, a woman to
14:04which Matthew replies, If the Savior has made her worthy, who are you indeed to reject her?
14:13Certainly the Savior knows her well.
14:15That's why he loved her more than us.
14:20Although censored, even forgotten by many, the Book of Enoch never truly disappeared.
14:26There is something deeper behind it and its incredible stories, something that goes beyond
14:32the familiar and ordinary, regardless of whether it is a part of the Christian canon or not.
14:40The ancient Greeks believed that Enoch and the god of wisdom Hermas were the same person.
14:46But who was he?
14:48In legends of the Jews of antiquity, Enoch is king over men who reigned exactly 243 years.
14:57He was overflowing with wisdom and the whole world consulted him.
15:02According to the ancient Egyptians, Enoch was the builder of the Great Pyramid, writes the
15:08geographer and historian Taghi ad-din Ahmad in his work Hitat.
15:14He notes that Enoch was known among the peoples under four different names Saurit, Hermes, Idris
15:23and Enoch.
15:25For the Arabs, Idris means sage or forefather and for Jewish as well as Christian theology
15:32Enoch is the seven of the ten forefathers, one of the patriarchs before the flood.
15:39Enoch was the father of Methuselah who nevertheless lived to the biblical age of 969.
15:49In the Old Testament in the book of Genesis, Enoch is mentioned with as many as five sentences.
15:55There we also read, and Enoch walked after God and disappeared because God took him.
16:03Just like that, he suddenly disappears.
16:06In Hebrew, the name Enoch means initiated, enlightened, knower and this initiate does just that.
16:16He makes sure that his knowledge does not disappear without a trace.
16:22The examples could go on, and so it is fair to ask why Enoch, regardless of his name, continues
16:29to appear in the traditions of almost all ancient civilizations.
16:35The answer may be found much further back than the Greeks, the Egyptians or even the Babylonians,
16:41perhaps even beyond the time of ancient Sumer.
16:46According to Sumerian texts, the earth was visited by a group of supernatural beings sometime
16:53in the distant past.
16:55These visitors are described in Sumerian tradition in a way that is eerily similar to the descriptions
17:01of the watchers in the book of Enoch.
17:05Instead of watchers, however, the Sumerians call these beings Anunnaki, which literally
17:11means those who came from heavens.
17:14They were perceived as God to the Sumerians, and according to modern thinkers such as Zecharia
17:20Sitchin and Erin von Deniken, they are an ancient race of extraterrestrial beings who came to earth.
17:28Interestingly, the Sumerian texts tell stories of the Anunnaki, who, like the watchers, began
17:35to interbreed with human beings.
17:38In this process, a hybrid race with entirely new species, known as the Nephilim, was created.
17:46Like the gods of the book of Enoch, the Anunnaki were angered by the state of the earth and
17:53caused a great flood.
17:55Same story, told in a slightly different way.
17:59As you well remember and know, it is not the form that matters, but the content.
18:05Perhaps maybe this is the only way we can read the true codes of our reality.
18:11Could it be that the book of Enoch, as well as other related traditions, are simply retelling
18:16the older Sumerian story of the Anunnaki, or simply over time the same story has been wrapped
18:24and reshaped all the way to the present?
18:27Not only that the book of Enoch is written in first person, but the author repeatedly asserts
18:33his authorship in the text, as if he feared that future interpreters would be so limited
18:41that they would not understand him.
18:44In the first month of the 365th year, on the first day of the first month, I, Enoch, was
18:53in my house alone, when two huge men appeared to me, the like of which I had never seen on
19:00earth.
19:01Let's consider the agrarian revolution that began around 10,000 BC, during which humans
19:08moved from a lifestyle of hunting and survival, to farming and settlement.
19:13According to historical data, as early as 9,500 BC at the lands where current Kurdistan
19:21is now, barely wet rye, oats, peas and lentils were grown, and goats and sheep were domesticated.
19:31Interestingly the Kurdish people claimed to be descendants of the children of the djinn,
19:37or the children of the spirits.
19:40Is this an ancient cultural reference to the interbreeding between the Anunnaki and human
19:45women?
19:46The ancient Near East is also known as the cradle of civilization, and the earliest city-states
19:53were found in the Mesopotamia region.
19:56The region's early indigenous inhabitants, the Sumerians and the Akkadians, developed the
20:02first written language, studied astronomy, and created libraries.
20:08The Babylonians and Assyrians followed them.
20:11In the mythologies, all of these races, there are stories of how the gods came down to earth,
20:18and taught them their arts and knowledge.
20:22In another passage from the Book of Enoch, Enoch testifies to the mysteries of lighting,
20:28and mysteries of thunder.
20:30Some suggest that this chapter is intended to illuminate the mysteries of energy and electricity.
20:37When we hear energy and electricity, we cannot help but mention Nikola Tesla, who, let's not
20:43forget, said the following.
20:45If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.
20:53It may sound ridiculous or hard to believe that such mind-blowing stories as those of
20:59the Watchers, the Anunnaki, and the Nephilim giants have been forgotten.
21:03The Sumerians ignored or even deleted deliberately from the pantheon of ancient civilizations.
21:12The Book of Enoch, along with the Gospel of Mary and Thomas, also censored from the Biblical
21:18canon.
21:19However, given the way these stories fundamentally change our understanding of human history by
21:25presenting a new or well-forgotten old perspective on who we really are, their exclusion
21:32is perhaps no surprise at all, but these stories have not been completely erased.
21:40If we look at one of the most famous stories known to mankind, the one about Adam, Eve, and
21:46the Garden of Eden, if we read the text not literally nor philosophically, but as an allegory,
21:54metaphorically, God creates Adam to watch over the Earth, just as the gods sent the Watchers
22:02to do so in the Book of Enoch.
22:05From Adam's rip, God created Eve, Adam and Eve reproduced, representing the crossbreeding
22:12between the Watchers and human women.
22:15Adam and Eve were said to be able to eat anything they wanted in the Garden of Eden except for
22:22the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge.
22:25Of course, they try the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, which symbolizes the Watchers,
22:30who bring advanced technology and knowledge to human beings, who may not have been mentally
22:37developed enough to handle it on their own.
22:42When the two taste the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in the
22:47Garden of Heaven, they are said to become aware of each other.
22:52Their first realization is that their physical cloaks of flesh are bare.
22:57They rush to cover their genitals, because they have realized the so-called Serpent Power,
23:04or Kundalini, which can be educated through intercourse and non-reproductive sexual acts.
23:12They taste it from the Tree of Life, which initiates the cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth,
23:20and of the human souls incarnating into physical form.
23:25By reading the story of Adam and Eve in this way, it is easy to see the parallels between
23:31the story itself, the Book of Enoch, and other ancient writings.
23:36And maybe that was exactly the goal.
23:40Perhaps those who wrote the story of Adam and Eve were simply retelling the stories in the
23:46book of Enoch in their own way, retelling the Sumerian story of the Anunnaki, like so many
23:53other religions and cultures, inserting this important part of human history allegorically
24:00into their own religious canon, so that these ancient records may continue to exist through
24:08time and though in a different form, be reminded of us, so that we may one day remember our
24:17own history.
24:19Not by the human way, but by the cosmic human lifeline.
24:25What is human history?
24:27Is it what we know from officially approved history books?
24:31Or is it something deeper, something more incredible, something forgotten?
24:37Maybe the answers have been in front of our eyes all this time.
24:42We bow before you and thank you for watching, until we meet again.
