Colossians 3:1-5, 9-11 calls us to seek the things above where Christ is. Set your heart on heaven and let your life be hidden with Him.  Put to death what is earthly. Refuse immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed which is idolatry. Put off the old self with its practices. Do not lie to one another. Be renewed in knowledge according to the image of the Creator. In Christ there is no Greek or Jew, slave or free. Christ is all and in all. This is a path for every home and parish. Choose honesty. Choose purity. Choose the new self that loves. Pray over these verses with quiet attention. Ask for steady grace to live what you read. Let your speech be truthful and your habits clean. Make room for the Holy Spirit. Walk as one people under one Lord. 00:00A Reading from the Letter of St. Paul to the Colossians

00:02Chapter 3, Verses 1-5, Verses 9-11

00:07Brothers and sisters, if you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is

00:13seated at the right hand of God. Think of what is above, not of what is on earth.

00:19For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ your life appears,

00:24then you too will appear with Him in glory. Put to death, then, the parts of you that are earthly,

00:31immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and the greed that is idolatry. Stop lying to one another,

00:38since you have taken off the old self with its practices, and have put on the new self,

00:43which is being renewed, for knowledge, in the image of its Creator. Here there is not Greek and Jew,

00:48circumcision, and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free, but Christ is all and in all.
