00:00What's up? Paul here from Guitar World and today we're going to be checking out another
00:15wildly cool guitar from Baldacci Guitars, the Baldacci Guitars Bighorn Eco. Let's check it out.
00:30The Bighorn Eco combines the sleek offset body style of their popular Bighorn series of guitars and
00:35reimagines it in a new vintage inspired design as you see here. And what makes this guitar inspiring
00:42is that it's built with a hundred percent American grown lumber. If you're familiar with Baldacci's
00:47Bighorn solid body, semi-hollow and hollow body guitars, you'll know those are premium handcrafted
00:54instruments. But what's noteworthy is the Bighorn Eco is a more approachable and cost-friendly
00:59handcrafted guitar that's made in the USA. Let's talk about some of the key features of this guitar.
01:09The first thing to note is, as I mentioned before, the Bighorn Eco is made with 100 percent American
01:16lumber that's grown, harvested and dried all in the USA. Its red alder body comes from the Pacific
01:23Northwest, while the hard maple neck is from the Northeast. And finally, its Sisu Rosewood Fretborn
01:30is grown locally in Arizona.
01:48Baldacci guitars are known for employing Darkmoon pickups, and here for the Eco,
01:51Darkmoon designed an all-new humbucker set with Alnico slug magnets for a clear, natural sound.
01:59In addition, you'll see the guitar has a master volume, a master tone, three-way blade switch,
02:03and a pure tone output jack for a solid connection with your cables. What's noticeably different
02:09compared to Baldacci's other guitars is the Eco features a bolt-on neck with threaded neck inserts
02:15for enhanced stability. The Eco also uses the Baldacci standard of a 25 and one-eighth scale length.
02:23So for perspective, a Fender-style guitar features a 25 and a half scale length, while a Gibson Les Paul
02:28has a 24 and three-quarters scale length. With Baldacci's novel 25 and one-eighth scale length,
02:34what you get is a fast and fluid feel with just the right amount of string tension and elasticity,
02:39while also adding a pleasant balance of brightness along with sustain and resonance.
02:52Up top, you'll see the redesigned vintage-inspired six-in-line headstock
02:57with script headcap logo. And of course, Baldacci's signature 12th fret mountain inlays
03:04with hollow dot fret markers. The Eco is available in four satin finishes, metallic peach, delta blue,
03:11silver bullet, and blackout. The guitar also comes in a Roadrunner hardshell case and is available to
03:17order direct from BaldacciGuitars.com or at select dealers.
03:48It goes without saying that the Baldacci Guitars Bighorn Eco offers stellar tone and playability
03:53in a sleek offset guitar that merges the simplicity of classic instrument design,
03:58but also gracefully possesses the refinement of some of the best custom guitars. I'll also say the
04:04Baldacci Bighorn Eco feels familiar, yet bespoke, and there's no denying that this guitar is a truly
04:10enriching custom instrument for those who want it all in an American-made guitar. Definitely check it out.
04:18Mal means,
04:19it's a great example.
