00:09Hey, I'm Molly Tuttle. I'm here at the NAMM show with my brand new custom signature Martin,
00:16the D18 Molly Tuttle model. I'm so excited to be unveiling it this weekend. We had a great time,
00:24you know, designing this guitar with Martin. I've played Martins for years and years. I've loved
00:32them since I was a little kid. It is a dream come true to get to work with them on
00:36this guitar.
00:37And we sort of based it on my 40s D18 that I have at home in Nashville. I bought it
00:42this past year.
00:43It was my dream guitar. I knew it right when I strummed the guitar. I was like, I love this.
00:48And I grew up playing my dad's old 40s Martin D18 at home. So I love the 40s style necks,
00:55the 1 and 11 16th necks, and they're kind of a thinner V style neck. So we did that on
01:01this
01:01guitar. We also did this very cool moon inlay on the fret markers. And that came about, I was in
01:09the Martin showroom in Nashville, looking around at all the amazing signature guitars on the wall.
01:14And I saw the Johnny Cash guitar and it had these cool star fret markers. And I asked them if
01:19they
01:19had ever done moon phases up the neck. And they said they hadn't done it before. So I just thought
01:24that was a cool idea. I have a lot of moon imagery in my songs and my lyrics. And the
01:28moon has always
01:29been a wonderful source of inspiration for me. So this is the DX2E. It's a more affordable option of my
01:36signature guitar. And we wanted to make this so that more people could afford these guitars. And,
01:41you know, I want as many people who want to play these guitars to be able to have one.
01:46So I was so excited to partner with Martin on this. And they told me that this was the first
01:50time
01:50they made one of these X model guitars with the 40 style necks, the 1 and 11 16th and the
01:57V
01:57shape necks. So it's kind of unique in that way. So if you're also a fan of the smaller 40
02:01style necks,
02:02you're going to love this guitar.
