A thrifty bride created an amazing one-of-a-kind wedding decor for her friends and family after she spent months thrifting every item so that it would be unique to her. Tarryn Pitt, 25, from Prineville, Oregon, estimated that she thrifted more than 500 objects for her big day—including the likes of lounge chairs, cutlery, glassware, a makeshift photo booth, and her bridal party table. She’s also thrifted photo frames, a cake stand, a cake topper, hangers for bridesmaid dresses, bottles for flowers, dessert plates, and several other smaller touches to make the wedding unique to her. Tarryn has been thrifting since a young age – so much so the hobby has been "woven into the fabric of her life," she said. Ahead of her big day, at Pole Creek Ranch, in Sisters, Oregon, on May 3, Tarryn decided to use her passion for finding objects with ties to the past as a way of expressing herself. The bride has a series of thrift stores she visits regularly, at least once or twice a week, and slowly she added piece after piece to her collection. These items were stored at her home that she shares with her now-husband, Holt, 25, and after amassing a large collection of items by February, Tarryn was still on the hunt for additional touches right up until her big day. The 25-year-old documented her journey on social media, where viewers have praised her money-saving approach, as well as her decision to give items a second chance.

00:00This bride found a unique way to stay on budget for her dream wedding.
00:04I've been thrifting for as long as I can remember.
00:06Like when I was younger, before it was cool.
00:09It's kind of just been a part of me.
00:11And then once Holt proposed, I was like, might as well thrift our wedding too.
00:16Taryn embarked on months of dedicated thrifting to gather everything from dishware to decor for 300 guests.
00:23I started with like Pinterest, like I made some Pinterest boards.
00:27Her plan? To find as many vintage items as possible to create a unique and personal wedding.
00:34And in like our thrift stores here, where I'm at, there's a lot of putlery, plates, cups, stuff like that.
00:39So I was like, we can try to do that. Well, we're inviting like over 300 people.
00:44Over several months, Taryn collected hundreds of vintage dishware and glassware items.
00:49Set against the stunning backdrop of the Three Sisters Mountains, Taryn's thrifted vision began to take shape.
00:55The venue was transformed into a vintage dream and each table told its own story.
01:01But I remember the first time walking into that tent and seeing all the tablescapes.
01:06What I created in my mind over the last year and a half was the most, like I didn't have any words for it.
01:14There was no table that was the same.
01:15They all had their own personality and there were mismatched plates, mismatched cups at each one.
01:22And it was just such a beautiful sight and the photos turned out absolutely amazing.
01:26We had a little seating area of antique furniture.
01:29I just feel like the wedding had so much personality and I personally have never been to a wedding like that.
01:34And I just, it was just the most magical day ever.
01:37And people still talk about it to me to this day.
01:41I want to say to anyone who wants to do this same thing for their wedding and thrift as much as they can to save money or they just like the look of it.
01:50I say 100% go for it because I do not regret a single thing I did for my wedding.
01:56And especially all of the uniqueness that my thrifting journey brought to it.
02:03Taryn's thrifty wedding was not only a beautiful and unique celebration, but also the start of a new sustainable venture.
02:11I've gotten the question a lot.
02:13What am I going to do with the hundreds of items that I've thrifted?
02:17Like, are they just going to sit in my garage?
02:18When we first got engaged, I was looking for a small rental business in my area that had items like these and there was none to be found.
02:27I told myself if I really could thrift all this stuff and have this many items that I would attempt to start a rental business.
02:36Now, others can bring a touch of timeless charm to their events thanks to Taryn's keen eye for vintage finds with Timeless Treasures Rentals.
02:46It has actually been very successful so far and it's actually been so much fun.
02:51And it's so nice to be able to give all of these items life again.
