A couple renovating a California home were left stunned when they discovered a hidden bomb shelter and a number of other amazing "secrets" throughout the house. Gail Gatan and husband Tony purchased the Lodi, California, home in November 2024, because of its size, location and uniqueness reminding the couple of Elvis Presley's famed Graceland estate. The house had been vacant for years after the owner passed away, and the empty home had been the talk of the neighborhood ever since. Inside, Gail and Tony found colonial-style pillars, blue wallpaper, funky carpets, a dramatic staircase, and a full man cave-style basement – but the bigger surprises were still to come.

00:00We couldn't open it right away.
00:03It felt like it was really shut for so long,
00:06but it just, a few pushes in and just blew wide open.
00:09It was really scary.
00:12What we were really drawn to was the uniqueness
00:14and how large the space was.
00:16It felt like we were walking into like a 1970s time capsule.
00:20It did remind us of like a mini Grace Lens.
00:22It has the colonial style, really large pillars in the front,
00:26and then all of the 1970s carpet and wallpaper
00:29and like the light fixtures were similar
00:32to what he has in Graceland.
00:34Every room had bright wallpaper.
00:36There was blue carpets, red shag carpet.
00:39There's also a laundry chute,
00:41which I haven't seen one of those since like the 90s.
00:43Just felt like finding all these hidden treasures
00:46and just trying to figure out like what was this kept for.
00:50When we saw the listing online,
00:51there was no mention of the bomb shelter.
00:53So there was just more mystery to it.
00:55A little shocking, a little scary,
00:57but we were more so excited.
01:05It was really scary.
01:07It was kind of hard to breathe down there.
01:09So I just went in there, took a couple of pictures,
01:11and then I just like ran out.
01:12I think if there's any catastrophe,
01:15that's pretty cool that there is a bunker down there.
01:17I guess you don't see too many of those in homes these days.
01:20To the right of the staircase,
01:22there's this little closet.
01:23It's like another hidden room,
01:25and then you just simply lift it up,
01:27and there's like a little wine cellar inside.
01:29We wanted to preserve a lot of the original elements,
01:32so we kept the bomb shelter.
01:34We just pretty much cleaned out the space.
01:36Also with the wine cellar storage area,
01:38we just refreshed the space.
01:40The house is currently for sale.
01:41It's listed at $1,239,000.
01:44We hope that people will come see how beautiful and unique the house is.
01:48This is probably by far our biggest, challenging, and most interesting find.
