06:05Well, I'm originally from New York City, holding on to that accent.
06:09A little bit, yeah. I got a little bit there.
06:11Married to my wonderful husband, Herb, for eight years. I run in marathons, and I'm here
06:17to win some money.
06:18In good shape. All right. Well, you can pick it up right here. You can tie it up. I hope
06:22you do. Roland, what do you do?
06:24Well, right now I'm working as a publicist for a company that makes records that teach
06:29birds to talk.
06:32It's true.
06:34There's a company that makes records that teach birds to talk. Can they name tunes?
06:37They do some tunes on the records. We should have them on the show, then. That's fantastic.
06:44Well, how about your family? Well, they're all back in North Carolina. I'm living out here
06:48now. Well, good luck to you. You're ahead. You have 10 points, and you can catch up. As
06:52I say right now, Linda, we're going to play Tune Topics, and it's worth 10 points. Let's
06:56see what our topics are. Let's take a look.
06:58We have Head Trips, Foreign Affairs, Some Like It Hot, Below the Belt, and Men Wanted. All
07:10right. Let's see what comes up today.
07:15Some Like It Hot. All right, Roland, you get back in there, and Linda, we want you to think
07:20heat now. Think warmth, I guess. And all of the tunes will have something to do with that.
07:23We're going to play a maximum of five tunes. Whoever's ahead at the end of the game wins
07:2710 points and gets a very nice prize. All right. Think warmth, think heat, listen carefully,
07:32and name that tune.
07:41We have one time in the old town tonight.
07:44Yeah. You got it. You scored one. There'll be a hot town in the old town tonight. You get
07:50the conjunction there. All right. We have hot. That's what we're thinking. Warmth, tune
07:54number two coming up. Listen and name that tune.
08:05Maybe let me light your fire.
08:06Oh, not quite right.
08:09Linda.
08:11It's light my fire. Light my fire. We need it accurate when you're playing against each
08:16other. When you're playing against us, we're a little more lenient, but we've got to give
08:19her a break. All right. It's one to nothing. There are still three remaining. Listen carefully,
08:22think warmth and heat, and name that tune.
08:35Baby tonight.
08:36What is that?
08:37Hot time, baby tonight.
08:38Not right. Roland, do you know it?
08:40Nope.
08:40It's called hot stuff. Hot stuff. And that's what we're looking for. Hot stuff.
08:44Hot stuff.
08:45Still one to nothing. All right. You're in the lead, Linda. Two more to go. You can still do it.
08:49Roland. Listen and name that tune.
08:59Oh, heat. Not heat wave.
09:01No, not. Roland.
09:04Twelve o'clock jump.
09:05No.
09:06We're thinking heat. I guess twelve o'clock, you never know where you are at twelve o'clock.
09:10It is called steam heat.
09:13Steam heat is the tune.
09:14All right. There's one remaining. Linda leads one to nothing. If you get it, Linda, you win
09:19the ten points, and you get it to tie up, and we'll go to a tiebreaker. Roland, listen
09:23carefully. Here is your final tune topic. Tune, name that tune.
09:26It's called too darn hot, and Linda, with one tune, you have one tune topic.
09:47Well, you guys aren't really too hot right now, but one is enough. One is enough, and you
09:52have one tune topic. You got the ten points, and what else did Linda just win?
09:56She's won a video cassette recorder. Now you can record all your favorite television shows
10:00and movies. Featuring remote control, this VCR will make a wonderful addition to your home
10:04entertainment center.
10:05All right. You've got ten points. You have ten points.
10:08It means bid and note coming up. We'll decide who goes for the golden medley, and we'll be
10:12back with bid and note right after this. Don't go away.
10:14Some of our departing contestants receive the following. Do-it-yourself manual, the big
10:20book for home fixer-uppers. From USG Industries, makers of Kincade, world-class tub and shower

10:34boxes of Minute Maid apple juice, grape juice, and orange juice. Minute Maid in the box.
10:38Goodness in every sip.
10:40Welcome back to Name That Tune. Well, Linda, you did it. You picked up ten points there with
10:44one tune. And in Tune Topics, you have ten points rolling, which means that this will
10:48decide it. Bid and note will decide who goes on to the golden medley. And here's the way
10:51we play it. I'm going to read clues to well-known tunes, and then you bid against each other as
10:55to how few notes it'll take you to name that tune. And the first player to score three tunes
10:59wins bid and note, gets the 20 points, a nice prize. In this case, goes on to the golden
11:04medley. Listen carefully. Here is your first clue. Typical Beach Boys, this tune talks about
11:11another stereotype. You won the last round, so you bid first. Linda.
11:15Roland, I can name that tune in six notes. I can name it in five. I can name it in four
11:25notes. I don't think so. Let's name that tune.
11:28All right, Linda, your chance to name the tune. Here is your clue one more time. Typical Beach

12:14not going to get into a bidding war with you this time. You have five notes, Roland. Once

12:45you did well. All right, here's your next clue, number three. Listen very carefully. This tune first dressed the stage in the musical
12:52Irene. And we'll start the bidding with Linda. I can name that tune in six notes. I can name that tune in five notes.
13:00I can name that tune, Roland, in four notes. Name that tune. All right, Linda, once again, you get a chance to name the tune. Once again, your clue. This tune first dressed the stage in the musical Irene. Here are your four notes.
13:12Sweet little Alice Blue Gown. Alice Blue Gown is the name of the tune. And you scored one. Well, both of you are scoring, but we're not getting the tunes. It scores two to one. Irene, you got to do it now. One more for him, and he has won. Bit of note, and he's on to the golden medley. Next clue is
13:42This is a signature tune for a comedian who began his career in vaudeville. Start the bidding this time with Roland. I can name that tune in four notes. Name that tune, Roland.
13:52All right, Roland, if you name this tune, you will go on to the golden medley. You will have one bit of note. Once again, your clue. This is a signature tune for a comedian who began his career in vaudeville. Here are your four notes. Listen.
14:04Inka-dink-a-doo. And Jimmy Durante's signature, and you tied it up. You didn't even bid at all. You just let him go right for it. All right? We're down to the final one.
14:26Whoever scores this next tune is going to go on to the golden medley. Listen very carefully to this important clue.
14:31If you have literary aspirations, you can name this tune. We start the bidding with Linda.
14:39Roland, I can name this tune in five notes.
14:44I can name it in four.
14:46I can name it in three.
14:48Name this tune. Name that tune.
14:51It's on your shoulders now, Linda. Here we go with the clue one more time. If you have literary aspirations, you can name this tune. Here are your three notes.
15:04Love letters in the sand.
15:05Oh, I could write a book. I could write a book, and you did it. You did it with strategy. You won't get a note.
15:13Nobody named a tune, but you bit each other down. You guys are tough. Linda, thank you so much.
15:20You won yourself the VCR, right? And we have some other wonderful prizes for you backstage. Thank you so much for playing. Name that tune. Come here.

16:06Stay tuned and see if he makes it. We'll be right back.
16:16Welcome back to Name That Tune. Well, here you are, Roland.
16:18When we play the golden medley, if at any time you give me an incorrect title, the game is automatically over.
16:23So, be very careful. If you're unsure of a title, just hit the button that'll stop the clock and say pass.
16:28And then we'll come back to that tune if there's time left on the clock.
16:31Are you all set? I'm ready.

I would love to see another rare episode of VH1's Name That Video hopefully soon. Or maybe... I heard you also have that rare TV themes episode of NBC's The Singing Bee. I would love to see that episode too hopefully soon.
