00:00A very important meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
00:04I've taken the opportunity to study the enormous, phenomenal progress,
00:11the advances you have had and achieved in the SCO,
00:17economic connectivity, public health, security, and energy transition,
00:24which is clearly consistent with Malaysia's position and ASEAN's priority.
00:30I think consistent with the moderate path of Confucius-Chung-Yung,
00:39a balanced, moderate position based on justice, on compassion, on humanity,
00:47rules anchored in law, cooperation, multilateralism at its core
00:55and translated into practical action consistent with the ideals.
01:04And, President Xi, we don't have a choice.
01:08There have been a deficit of trust in the international system because of our failures.
01:17In trade, in financial architecture, in dealing with climate change,
01:22there's always this disconnect between what's being preached
01:26and the sufferings that will affect the masses
01:33and the action that does not necessarily commence with the ideals.
01:39The next day or so will be celebrating the resistance of the Chinese
01:48and the aftermath of the Second World War.
01:52What does it teach us?
01:54In Beijing, we'll continue to celebrate with you,
01:58but we understand fairly that this spirit must endure
02:03because the atrocities inflicted continues with impunity.
02:08Many of my colleagues have mentioned about the atrocities inflicted in front of our very eyes
02:16in Gaza and Palestine, killings of babies and children with impunity.
02:23Not only in Gaza and Palestine, they're affecting neighbors from Lebanon to Iran to Iraq.
02:30And the international community seems to be somewhat helpless.
02:35And that's precisely the reason why not only do I support the global initiative,
02:41but we need to do it more profoundly, more aggressively, promoting these ideals
02:46and to celebrate the success against any form of imperialism, colonialism and oppression
02:55as we will certainly join you in Beijing.
