Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim spent the second day of his Tianjin working visit emphasizing Malaysia's diplomatic expansion efforts and reiterating the country's strong support for multilateralism.

On Monday (Sept 1), he delivered a public lecture entitled ‘Sovereign Interdependence: Building a Shared Future in Asia’ at Tianjin University, the oldest modern university in China.

00:23the oldest modern university in China. Established in 1895, Tianjin University is
00:30renowned for its technology, engineering and sciences programs. The university also has a
00:37twinning program with University Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah in the field of chemical
00:43engineering. The lecture was attended by 500 students, academics and think tank representatives.
00:50Following the public lecture, Anwar, who is also finance minister, will hold one-on-one
00:56business meeting with two top Chinese companies, Ryanlon Corporation and China Communications
01:02Construction Company Limited. The highlight of the Prime Minister's visit in Tianjin is his
01:08participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2025. The Prime Minister and his delegation
01:15will depart for Beijing later at night to continue the second part of his engagements with Chinese
01:21leaders and industry titans during the four-day visit.
