00:00The fact that she in just her short three months of life had developed to a state of severe neglect
00:06is incredibly overwhelming and disheartening. You could tell she just hurt so badly.
00:14I really didn't know what I was getting into with her. We as Beagles and Bentleys decided to
00:20take her in and pull her into our rescue. It's okay Angel. Yeah. I have such a soft spot for
00:28pitties and I just couldn't let her spend any more time in shelter than she already had.
00:33I had never personally managed a mange case.
00:38I really expected her to be more shy or unwilling to accept the help that I was giving her.
00:47You don't get in that state because you were treated well.
00:49She warmed up to me very quickly. Once she realized I was there to help her,
01:01she was willing to accept all the help that my husband and myself were able to give her.
01:07Good job! Around the four week mark we started to notice that her fur was coming back in.
01:12Can I start that? Baby girl. And that was also when she was just really
01:20starting to act like a puppy again and starting to feel a lot better.
01:24Rosie did not know she didn't have fur, let me tell you. When her personality started coming out,
01:29she was confident and social. What do you think Miss Rosie? She didn't want to miss out on anything.
01:38She had major FOMO. We had to bring her everywhere with us. Rosie! Rosie! And we loved bringing her everywhere with us.
02:00Once Rosie was ready for adoption, my husband and I decided to take her to my husband's work
02:05at the firehouse for some pictures and some socialization and some exposure to all the people
02:12on shift. So we took her there. She had a really great day. Got to hang around the firehouse to meet
02:17all the guys and girls. I definitely had a hard time letting her go. It's bittersweet when you have
02:30a foster that you are lucky enough to be so involved in their recovery and see them transform
02:37in such a way. And the only way that's possible is by loving them.
02:43After being with my husband and I for about two to three months, we knew it was time for her
02:48to go to her forever home. As hard as it is to say goodbye, it means that I can continue to help other
02:55dogs just like her. Our executive director told me that, hey, I got this amazing application.
03:01And I was like, let me see it. I need to see it first.
03:03Yeah, baby. Oh my goodness.
03:07I could tell these people, they're just good people who love animals, love rescue,
03:12and they love pitties. She was my first Dima Dex dog. And now I'm not afraid of taking on those cases
03:19anymore because I know how resilient these dogs can be and how powerful their recovery is.
