00:00Okay, so this is either going to be the bravest thing I've ever done or the

00:07dumbest thing I've ever done. In general cats don't need baths but she came to me

00:12extremely filthy and matted. She was skinny and of course really hissy because

00:19she had never been socialized with people before. Well I knew that was a

00:22challenge but I'd done it before so I could do it again. The first step is to

00:26keep her in a small contained area so she feels very cozy and secure and then

00:33we start work the next day. I try to get her used to my voice. Look a little

00:40raggedy. You're so cute. She lets me touch her head. And little by little the more I

00:46would pick her up the better she got at it. So I knew once she calmed down I

00:53could give her a bath. Okay, here we go. Oh dear. So this water is so brown.

01:10After the bath we started brushing and I found out that she really enjoyed

01:15brushing and she got closer to me. Look at her. Look at her. She's getting closer to me.

01:24Look at this. Look at this. It was then that I knew okay I was going to be able to

01:29make some progress with her. I would use the brush and then I would sneak in using

01:35my hand to pet her. And eventually she warmed up to toys to where she really

01:41enjoyed having toys and playing with toys. The biggest moment I noticed was when

01:47she came up into our bed for the first time on her own. I think it's crazy that

01:53of the hundreds of fosters I've had she's like the top two kittens that I've had

01:59the most adoption applications on. I ended up ultimately selecting a family who

02:04has adopted from me before.
