In this tutorial, we’ll explore the essentials of Changing Output File Location and Name and Extension in HandBrake

In this tutorial series, we will cover the major features of HandBrake, including how to load source files, choose output formats, adjust quality settings, use presets, add subtitles, and export optimised videos for web, mobile, or archive purposes.

This lesson is created using HandBrake on Windows, but the same tools and techniques apply to the macOS and Linux versions as well.

00:00so now let's see how we can go ahead and change the output file location name and extension in
00:14handbrake so to do that I'm just going to go around and open up a file right here let's just
00:19go ahead and select out this particular file right here and then once you go ahead and do
00:25that you can choose a particular format like let's say for example webm right here so now you can see
00:30that the extension right now is webm and this is the path that it shows you can go ahead and choose
00:38mkv and it's mkv right here choose mp4 and it's mp4 if I were to go around on to browse now then
00:45you can see that this is what you have so you can see that you can choose a particular type of a video
00:52file right here just like this as well so sometimes what happens is that you may be saving
00:57m4 feed the m4 via videos right here so you need to go ahead and type in the extension as well just
01:05like this when you're exporting out projects in handbrake so if I were to actually go ahead right
01:10here on to the 22 drive right here let's say for example I can go ahead on to videos right here let
01:17me just go ahead over here on to export so let's just create a new folder called exports right here
01:24and then go inside and then here what you can do is you can name it out anything as you want right
01:31here just like this and then let me just go ahead and then press on save then the location gets set
01:39accordingly so this is how you can go ahead and set out the file name and location and once you press
01:45start encode it'll actually go ahead and then export it out onto this particular folder right here
01:51and that is how you can change the output file location name and extension inside of handbrake
