00:00Summer is starting to wind down and the leaves are starting to fall off the trees
00:04which means it's the perfect time of the year to stay inside and watch the telly.
00:10But what do you want to watch this month? What's out there to have on your radar?
00:15Fortunately, I'm national world's TV and tech writer Matt Moynihickson
00:19and these are the three big picks for what you need to watch in September
00:22as well as a few honorable mentions. So first up the show that needs to be on your radar
00:27is called Task. It's on skyatlantic slash now tv from the 8th of September starts on Monday.
00:35It's an American show so it airs on a Sunday night in America. We get it on the Monday in the UK.
00:40It's starring Mark Refloor. He plays a FBI agent who is leading a task force investigating
00:48who is stealing cash from drug houses of a powerful gang which is yeah pretty intriguing. It's written
00:55by the guy who made Mare of Easttown which for my money is still one of the best shows of the 2020s
01:02and as previously mentioned it will air weekly on skyatlantic and now tv from the early hours of
01:10Monday mornings starting September the 8th. It will be on tv on Monday nights on skyatlantic but yeah if
01:16you're watching it on streaming it'll be available from the early hours of Monday mornings from September
01:21the 8th. Next up we've got Coldwater which is ITV's big new offering this autumn. They've been sort of
01:30really hyping this up for a little while there's been you know pictures and trailers out for a bit
01:35so they're pretty excited for this one and it marks the return of The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln to
01:41British TV. He obviously started out on Teachers all those years ago if you remember that before he
01:46got big in the zombie apocalypse. He plays a unhappy middle-aged man who moves to a isolated Scottish
01:58village and starts to get friendly with his odd ball next door neighbour but his wife has a lot of
02:06suspicions and isn't particularly happy about this friendship so yeah plenty of room for drama right
02:12there. It starts on Sunday September the 14th on ITV1 slash STV and it'll also be available on ITVX
02:20slash STV player depending whether you're in Scotland or the rest of the UK. Before we go
02:26on to the third one I'm just going to do a few honourable mentions. The Great British Bake Off starts
02:30on September the 2nd so it airs on Tuesday nights on channel 4. That's going to be really good fun I'm sure.
02:37Wednesday the second half of the second season of Wednesday comes out on the 3rd of September
02:42uh Alien Earth continues to air on Wednesdays on Disney Plus and will do through the rest of
02:48September and Only Murders in the Building will be back on Disney Plus this month with its fifth season
02:55so yeah if you've been tuning into that that'll be I'm sure a fun way to spend the autumn. But my third
03:00big pick for the month is one that might not be on your radar yet you might have seen teasers for
03:05Task or Coldwater this one might have sort of slipped you by so far but I think it's one that you really
03:11need to watch out for it's called Black Rabbit it'll be on Netflix from the 18th of September
03:18it stars Jude Law and Jason Bateman as brothers um it sounds fantastic to be honest Law plays a guy
03:26who owns a New York City hotspot and he welcomes back his chaotic brother played by Bateman into his
03:33life and things do not go well let's just say that um yeah so that will be streaming on Netflix from
03:40the 18th of September one to half circle on your calendar those are the ones you need to watch in
03:46September 2025.
04:03you
