00:00Hello there, good evening.
00:02A yellow warning for heavy rain and possible thundery outbreaks has been issued across
00:06southern parts of England and Wales, and it's all due to this area of rain, at first pushing
00:10into parts of Cornwall, eventually into southern parts of Wales, and it will sweep its way
00:14eastwards through the course of the night.
00:16It's likely we'll see some heavy downpours of rain associated with this, possible some
00:20hail and also some thundery downpours, so do keep an eye out across our social media
00:25channels and our website for any information on our warning.
00:28But it is set to be a wet start, particularly across Sussex and Kent, for the first start
00:32of Friday.
00:33Elsewhere, there will also be some showers, particularly across the west, but central and
00:37eastern parts of England should see a mostly dry night, feeling a little cooler and fresher
00:41under any prolonged clear skies.
00:45So a wet start across parts of the southeast.
00:47Eventually this band of rain will push into parts of East Anglia before clearing off into
00:51the North Sea.
00:52Once again, a swirl of low pressure will continue to sweep in some heavy showers in from the
00:56west, eventually pushing into eastern parts of England.
00:59So once again, it will be a day where it will be sunshine one moment and then a heavy downpour
01:03the next.
01:04And we could, once again, also see some hail and thunder associated with these showers,
01:08along with some quite gusty winds.
01:11Temperatures fairly similar, around about average for the time of year.
01:13Highs reaching around 21, possibly 22 degrees Celsius, where we see any sunny spells.
01:20Into the overnight period, we do start to see a slight ridge of high pressure build, before
01:24another area of low pressure waiting in the wings starts to push its way through for the
01:28beginning of the weekend.
01:29But as we see this ridge of high pressure, that means many areas will actually be waking
01:33up to quite a dry and bright start.
01:35Still the occasional shower across north-western areas, but these should become mostly isolated
01:40by the time we reach the morning.
01:41And fairly similar temperatures during the overnight period too, lows reaching around 10 to 11 degrees
01:47Celsius.
01:49So a dry and bright start to the weekend.
01:51There will even be some sunshine around, but soon being replaced by cloudy skies as this
01:55area of low pressure begins to swing its way in from the west.
01:58Heavy outbreaks of rain pushing into Northern Ireland, eventually into parts of Wales and
02:02western parts of England.
02:03By late into the afternoon, it's likely this band of rain will sweep across eastern areas
02:08as well.
02:09Not only heavy outbreaks of rain, but also some quite strong gusty winds associated with this
02:13feature too.
02:14Where we see any brighter spells in the east, we should see temperatures just peak into around
02:19the low 20s, but elsewhere in the mid to high teens, but that being offset by the strong
02:24and gusty winds.
02:26For the rest of the weekend then, low pressure is still set to dominate.
02:30This area of low pressure to the north-west still continuing to swing its way eastward.
02:34So even as we head through into Sunday, it's likely we'll continue to see quite widespread
02:38outbreaks of rain, some showers and also continuation of the quite gusty weather.
02:42But of course, make sure you are subscribed so that you don't miss any of our updates.
