00:00Big game in Boulder on Thursday night, coach.
00:03We have Georgia Tech opened at a four-and-a-half-point road favorite against Colorado.
00:07Right now, we see three-and-a-halves popping out across multiple books.
00:12This is a team in Georgia Tech that made it back to a ballgame.
00:16They had a very balanced offense led by their dual-threat quarterback, Haynes King.
00:20They averaged 187 rushing yards per game, threw it for 237 through the air.
00:26And they're going up against Caden Salter, recently named the starting quarterback at Colorado.
00:32And, Deion, how do you see this game playing out?
00:36Well, I see so many things seem to be in favor of Georgia Tech, a veteran quarterback in Haynes King,
00:42a coach that's mentally tough.
00:43He is a Georgia Tech guy.
00:45They run the football.
00:47They're physically tough.
00:48They've got an established defense running game.
00:51Jamal Haynes at running back along with a couple of others.
00:54I just see they are in place, and they finished their season so strong, and they're looking to be even better.
01:01And I see Colorado, a new quarterback.
01:04He's kind of a dual-threat.
01:05How does that fit into the mentality that Deion Sanders has?
01:09I just see a tough blue-collar team on the rise with a Colorado team that, although they had a good year last year,
01:16they have a new quarterback.
01:18He's a different type of quarterback.
01:20Some uncertainty there.
01:21I think this thing could get even 10 points, 14.
01:24I've got Georgia Tech pulling ahead and maybe taking it by two touchdowns.
01:29Really?
01:30Wow.
01:30We disagree on this game.
01:32I tell you, I lead to Colorado.
01:35And let me tell you why, and this is why I favor Colorado and Caden Salter.
01:41Well, Caden Salter, a dual-threat, 3,000 yards, passing a 1,000-yard rusher a couple seasons ago at Liberty.
01:47We knew that he led them potentially to a college football playoff berth.
01:52You're talking about a Colorado offense that averaged 318 passing yards per game, very inconsistent running the football,
01:59only averaged 65 yards on the ground.
02:02But you look at the defense over the past couple of seasons, led by Deion Sanders and that coaching staff.
02:08Two years ago, they only allowed, well, they allowed 173 rushing yards per game.
02:13They got it down to 151 last year.
02:16Two years ago, they allowed 276 passing yards per game.
02:20They got it down to 200 last year and made it to a bowl game.
02:25And not only that, but Georgia Tech, from a road perspective, 2-6 on the road or on a neutral field last year,
02:32and they lost by 9.6 points per game.
02:35I'm going to go with the unknown.
02:36Give me the home team.
02:38I'm calling for the upset.
02:40No, I mean, I just think of where Georgia Tech's going.
02:44And I think the difficulties that now that Colorado has to, I mean, I don't know how they utilize a dual threat.
02:50Because they average, what, 66 yards a game rushing.
02:54Are they willing to call running plays?
02:55Are they willing to build a different type of offense in?
02:58It's not just that you've got a dual threat quarterback.
03:00You've got to utilize them in a certain way.
03:03And I think Georgia Tech brings in a running attack, a very physical running attack, where the quarterback does know how to throw the football, and he will throw the football.
03:12And I just see the direction of their program.
03:14It is getting better and better.
03:16And I can see Georgia Tech.
03:18I've already talked about them being a dark horse in the ACC, but I see them coming out here and spending a lot of time in the offseason to get ready for this first game.
03:29Should be a very interesting matchup.
03:31Both quarterbacks are dual threats.
03:33Maybe the over is in play in that matchup.
03:35It's a late-night kick, 7.30, 8 o'clock in Boulder.
03:39Home field advantage potentially for the Buffaloes.
03:42Coach likes Georgia Tech laying the 3.5.
03:44I'm taking the points with Colorado in that matchup.
