Some bright spells to start the day, particularly in the east. A wetter start for Northern Ireland, and showers across other western areas will push eastwards through the day. Some of the showers could be heavy and thundery, and accompanied by blustery winds - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 28/08/2025. 00:00Hello and a very good morning to you. Continuing with the unsettled theme we've got low pressure
00:05firmly in charge so let's take a look at that bigger picture. This is that low pressure centered
00:10to the northwest of Northern Ireland and Scotland slowly moving eastwards over the next coming days
00:15and we're going to be seeing further showers spreading across the UK. Moving into Friday
00:19morning there's some more organized rain that's again going to be moving into the far south of
00:24England. Back to this morning though so there will be some brighter spells to start at first
00:29but with low pressure in charge a wet start to the day for Northern Ireland and those blustery
00:34showers will be spreading eastwards quite quickly through the day on Thursday. Some of these showers
00:38could be quite heavy with the odd rumble of thunder in the mix as well. Notice these winds too it's
00:44going to be a particularly breezy and blustery day down the western coast of the UK could see
00:48gusts up to 35 maybe even 40 miles per hour in a few spots. With that we're going to see temperatures
00:55around average but certainly a touchdown on what we've seen for the last couple of days.
00:59It's 17 to 18 degrees perhaps 16 across Northern Ireland and cooler down the west coast and the
01:05warmth and the best of that warmth will be 23 degrees around East Anglia. Moving through the
01:11rest of Thursday then so we will start to see some of these showers breaking up as we head through
01:16the evening particularly down eastern parts but certainly around the centre of that low pressure
01:20for western Scotland parts of Northern Ireland it's going to be remaining wet through the evening
01:24and overnight. Wales again holding on to quite a lot of those showers and this is that area of rain
01:30moving across the far south as we head through Friday morning so that could give a few heavier
01:35bursts to start the day on Friday. Temperatures to start Friday morning so it's going to be a fairly
01:42mild night so we're going to see 10 to 14 degrees perhaps not as chilly to start the day on Thursday
01:48with that wind a little bit stronger. Heading through the rest of Friday then again so we still have
01:54this low pressure and charge swirling areas of heavy showers around Scotland through today and we're going
02:00to continue to see those showers develop as we head through Friday and again some of these could be
02:04quite heavy and they could have the odd rumble of thunder in. You do notice there's a few more
02:09clearer spells between them maybe a few more breaks and a bit more of sunshine and places across
02:14particularly the southwest may see a few more breaks too. Temperatures on Friday are again going to be
02:20in the mid to high teens across far north of Scotland a little bit warmer across the far south we could
02:25see 22 or maybe even 23 as a top temperature. Moving into the weekend then so it does look to be a
02:32particularly unsettled picture if you want to find out any more then please do have a check out of our
02:37our 10-day trend with Alex.
