00:00Today has been a day of deep sorrow and shock for our community. First and
00:05foremost, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and
00:09colleagues of the two police officers tragically killed in Paupunkka. Our
00:14thoughts, love and unwavering support are with you during this incredibly painful
00:18time. We hold our police in the highest regard. They serve with courage, compassion
00:25and dedication and their loss is felt profoundly across our region. We are
00:30deeply grateful for their service and commitment. To our community, we know
00:37today has been unsettling and emotional. Thank you for your patience, your
00:42understanding and for continuing to follow police instructions to stay safe.
00:46Your care for one another is what makes our Shire so strong. To our wonderful
00:54teachers, thank you for being a steady and calming presence for our children
00:59during today's lockdowns. Your kindness and reassurance have made a world of
01:04difference in helping our young ones feel safe and supported. As the situation
01:11continues to unfold, all council facilities remain closed until further
01:16notice and tonight's council meeting has been postponed. We will keep our community
01:21informed as services resume. We are grieving together and we will continue to support
01:28one another with compassion and care. Please stay safe.
