00:11earlier in February 2026, after vision of him carrying a plush orangutan went viral.
00:18The plushy was given to him by zoo staff, who hand-raised him after his mother abandoned him.
00:24Unfortunately, once Punch-kun, as he's known in Japanese, was returned to his enclosure,
00:30he was set upon and bullied by the other monkeys as he struggled to navigate his way into the group.
00:37According to local reports, the infant monkey continues to find comfort in his plushy,
00:42whom he treats like his own mother, sleeping with it, eating with it, and playing with it.
00:49Slowly, the baby macaque is making progress, relating to the other monkeys,
00:54being groomed by elders, and taking steps towards integrating,
00:58without relying as heavily on his emotional support plushy.
