00:00Australia Post has paused parcel deliveries to the United States and Puerto Rico in response to sweeping changes to U.S. import rules.
00:09From today, August 26, 2025, business customers will no longer be able to send goods through the postal network,
00:16though letters, documents and gifts under $154 remain unaffected.
00:21The move follows the U.S. government's suspension of the de minimis exemption, which had allowed packages valued under $800 to enter duty-free.
00:31Under Trump's new tariff shake-up, that's no longer the case.
00:36Other international postal services have taken similar moves.
00:39Japan and Switzerland have both paused shipments to the U.S. and other international postal services are reviewing their options.
00:46Australia Post said it was working with U.S. customs and logistics provider Zonos to develop a solution and resume services as soon as possible.
