00:00Welcome to the Constitutionalist Politics Podcast, a.k.a. CTP.
00:07I am your host, Joseph M. Leonard, and that's L-E-N-A-R-D.
00:12CTP is your no-must, no-fuss, just-me-you-and-occasional-guest-type podcast.
00:19I really appreciate you tuning in.
00:22As Graham Norton will say, let's get on with the show!
00:25Hello, everyone! Welcome to another Constitutionalist Politics Podcast.
00:34If you're looking behind-the-scenes video, yes, the new background with the city of Detroit in there.
00:40I dropped politics, but we still get into them.
00:45And welcoming me today.
00:49Joining me today is Jose Nino.
00:53No, not like the Nino, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria.
00:59Jose Nino.
01:01Nor like La Nina.
01:04More like El Nino.
01:07Jose Nino, right?
01:08Welcome to the show, Jose.
01:11Yeah, thank you so much for having me on and, like, for the colorful introduction.
01:15Well, I like to joke around with people with their names, because I'm touchy about names.
01:22My last name looks French, like Lenard.
01:26It's not.
01:27It's actually derived from Polish.
01:30It was Leonard...
01:31Interesting.
01:31Yeah, Leonard Awoskovitsky or whatever at some point.
01:37It's Leonard without an O.
01:39And I have to go by Joseph M. Leonard, because there is a Joseph Leonard who's also a Christian author out of South Carolina.
01:49So, I'm touchy about names.
01:53I get it.
01:55And I like joking about it, because, you know, humor helps put things in people's heads.
02:04It's funny you mention that, because technically in Spanish, my name would be Nino, because of the tilde, the accent mark on the second end.
02:14But in government documents in the U.S., it's technically Nino.
02:17But there are...
02:18I do have a...
02:20I have noticed...
02:22I have, like, a doppelganger that's in a somewhat tangential field, like, in terms of, like, international relations.
02:29I've seen it when I go on LinkedIn, but, yeah.
02:32But they don't really look like me.
02:34So, there's not going to be any confusion there.
02:36Maybe you need to start doing like I do.
02:39Put the middle initial in.
02:41Yeah.
02:43I'd like to joke.
02:45In fact, I've got my sixth international book.
02:48We'll be out now by the time this show airs.
02:51The Book of Kennedy, Project Carpe Diem.
02:54And, in fact, I joke in the book in there that, yeah, I'm Joseph M. Leonard.
03:03He is Joseph Lennard.
03:06I am not he.
03:07He is not me.
03:09Those aren't pseudonyms for each other.
03:13Right?
03:13I am not he.
03:14He is not me.
03:15And neither of us will be confused for Shakespeare.
03:18At any rate, yeah, welcome to the show.
03:31Before we get into, I have circled on my notes, published author, and items cited by members of Congress.
03:41But, let's put the garbage truck in reverse.
03:45Beep, beep, beep.
03:47And get into the proverbial, ah, Christian show, pun intended, proverbial usual first question.
03:56Who are you?
03:59Right?
03:59Where were you born?
04:00Where were you raised?
04:02And all that nitty-gritty stuff.
04:05So, yes.
04:08I am a freelance writer, and I write for multiple websites on political issues that range from immigration to foreign policy.
04:21I'm also, like, the deputy editor of Headline USA.
04:25That's generally my main gig.
04:27But I was born in, actually, Venezuela.
04:30But I grew up in North Texas, specifically the Dallas area.
04:35I've lived all over in the United States.
04:38I'm actually currently in Charlotte, North Carolina.
04:41And I've also lived abroad, too.
04:43Oh, yeah.
04:44Take a trip to South Carolina and say hello to Joseph Lenard to me, because he don't ever return my emails or my attempts to outreach.
04:53We've got similar names.
04:55We should connect and at least have a conversation.
04:58But he never gets back to me.
05:01And anyway, I'm sorry.
05:02Perhaps I could link you up with him.
05:05Yeah.
05:06You could be my ambassador, right?
05:10Yes.
05:11Yeah, your liaison.
05:14Anyway, I interrupted you.
05:17So you're currently in North Carolina.
05:20Where else have you been?
05:22Well, I've lived abroad as well.
05:24Like, I've lived some time in Columbia, Philae.
05:29Yeah.
05:30I'm pretty well-traveled.
05:32But now I'm very much settled in, though, in the United States.
05:38Okay.
05:38So let's get into, I guess, first, the published author part, because we have that in common, of course.
05:47What are some of your books?
05:50Do you have any to hold up for behind-the-scenes video there?
05:54No, there are actually two e-books.
05:59One is How Socialism Destroyed Venezuela.
06:02And the other...
06:03Amen to that, brother.
06:05Amen.
06:05And the other is The 10 Myths of Gun Control.
06:11Oh, there's a...
06:13I don't even need to write those down.
06:16I know I need to go get those immediately after this.
06:21There are e-books on Amazon Kindle, then I take it?
06:25Yeah, well, they're mostly on PDFs.
06:30You can acquire them from Gumroad, the platform Gumroad.
06:34I can send you a link to that as well.
06:37Yeah, please do.
06:38And then that way I can...
06:40Go ahead and vocalize the link, and then I'll also put it on the scrawl at the bottom
06:48and try to remember to put it in the show notes.
06:51What is it?
06:52Um, it's...
06:55If you go to Gumroad.com, G-U-M-Road.com, you can type in How Socialism Destroyed Venezuela
07:04and or the 10 Myths of Gun Control, and you'll find it with Jose Nino.
07:09I can also...
07:11Let me find the exact links as well, because I don't have that off the top right now.
07:16Okay, right.
07:17How Socialism Destroyed Venezuela...
07:22Yeah, well, I could...
07:25I go on and on and on and on on this show.
07:29That's why I felt called.
07:31So many Matthew 23 Christians seem to think Jesus was a socialist.
07:37Uh-uh.
07:38You're not reading your Bible right.
07:40The Bible and Jesus is about free will, right?
07:47Charity.
07:48We are to want to be our brother's keeper, not forced through worldly communism,
07:55which is a bastardization of biblical community,
07:59at the point of the barrel of a gun, to have money and whatnot stolen from us to give to others,
08:11because the Bible also makes the distinction between the unwilling and the unable.
08:18Like, I myself am on disability right now.
08:21I prefer to have my six-figure IT salary, but instead, I'm barely able to keep the roof over the head,
08:31the lights on, and the show going.
08:35On disability budget, disability income, right?
08:39There's a distinction.
08:40I have no obligation whatsoever under biblical community to those who are unwilling to bother to want to do anything for themselves.
08:53I have obligation to others who are unable for whatever reason.
09:01Yes?
09:01Yeah, I'm not the most well-versed on Christianity, but I do see a good deal of leftists using Christian appeals to support their agenda.
09:19And it's very disinterpreting.
09:21I mean, socialism and totalitarian communism can just be refuted by pointing out basic economic facts that,
09:30completely seizing the means of production of the economy and abolishing private property is just going to lead to unmitigated disaster
09:41and just turn your country into an economic basket case at best or at worst like a complete totalitarian police state
09:49where you live in economic misery and face constant repression.
09:53Yeah, I pretty much can tell how you're going to react to who I call madman dummy, right?
10:03The idiot running for New York mayor right now, mad dummy or whatever his name I call, like I say, madman dummy.
10:13Wanting to seize control, take over, and have government-run grocery stores.
10:22Yeah, that'll work just as well as the DMV does.
10:26And what will be next, because these commies never end there in seizing control and turning over to government bureaucrats,
10:38a.k.a. their friends, their family, their donors, and it never works.
10:45Next will be what?
10:46South African-style, let's seize the farms so that we raise the cattle and grow the crops to sell in the store.
10:57And of course, then we've got to seize the middleman distributors there too, and it all goes to H-E-double-L.
11:07Yes?
11:07Yeah, I mean, this is obviously like politicians, really demagogic politicians, get their start more often than not at the local level.
11:19They want to kind of create this microcosm of an economy of this really kind of race-based communism.
11:26Because I haven't really researched Mondami that much, but I've noticed that he has said, like, talked about redistributing, like, the assets and properties of, like, white people in New York City.
11:36And this is just, you mentioned South Africa.
11:38That's just like there.
11:40Yeah.
11:40Yeah.
11:40Yeah.
11:41And it's like, and it's just like a really dumb policy.
11:44I mean, New York City has a lot of corrupt politics.
11:46I mean, that's not even, like, up for debate.
11:49But what he's proposing, I just don't see it as, like, the solution.
11:54Like, there's a lot of things you could say about, like, corporate policies in the U.S., but just, like, abolishing private property is, like, the last thing you should do to, like, address corporate inequities and all that.
12:08Yeah.
12:08Oh, some people refuse.
12:11This is the reason why they don't want history taught in school, because some refuse to learn from it, and they want to ensure for their own power and control.
12:22The issue is never the issue with the leftists.
12:25The only issue is their power, their control, more, more, more for them, less, less, less for the average person.
12:36But they failed to learn from the Bradford colony and the Mayflower Commie Compact.
12:44It was a communist compact long before Marx ever thought he was having an original ideal, and they almost all starved to death.
12:56So Bradford pivoted, and Squanto came along also.
13:02That was divine intervention.
13:03An Indian who spoke good English, proper English, probably better English than a lot of the settlers.
13:11Yeah, hey, I'm here.
13:13Can I help?
13:14And, yeah, we're all starving.
13:16Well, that's because it was a commonwealth.
13:19He instituted private property ownership, individual, personal, free will rights over collectivist rights,
13:30and the rest they say is history.
13:32Our founders knew that, and that's exactly why we aren't a communist nation, nor are we a mobocracy.
13:41We are a constitutionally limited representative republic.
13:46Yes?
13:47This is something that's generally ignored, that the U.S. is a system that is supposedly designed to prevent, like, mob rule, especially at the federal level.
14:06At the state level, you can have, like, your little referendas and local ballot initiatives, but there's a clearly, like, delineated separation of powers and also republican features of government that are designed to check, like, the excesses of impassioned mobs.
14:24Because you'll get situations like the French Revolution, which was a Saturnalia of violence and just radicalism that eventually had to be put down by Napoleon.
14:34But, like, yeah, like, that's something that's generally not understood because of the lack of, like, civics education in the U.S., where people like to talk about banal terms like democracy, which have become almost meaningless now.
14:48And instead, what they're really promoting is just a system of stealing from so-called, like, oppressor groups, like white people, and redistributing it to so-called victim groups.
15:01And it's just completely off base.
15:03You have to go back to first principles if you want to solve problems.
15:08Yes, I'm with you wholeheartedly there.
15:12Yeah, the divide and conquer.
15:16And like Barnum used to say, a sucker born every minute, right?
15:20Now, if Barnum were alive in the computer age, it'd be a sucker born every nanosecond.
15:26And that's what the left plays on, the mobocracy theme of playing on useful idiots.
15:34They can lie, lie, lie, and always lie to, to pass idiotic referendums.
15:44And I've got an article on BeforeIt'sNews.com about today's Pasha Federalists versus the original Federalists.
15:58Now, even Jefferson, as a Federalist and others, immediately started to undermine the Constitution, the compromise.
16:13That was the Constitution because the Articles of Confederation didn't go far enough.
16:20But the states joined freely the Union.
16:24The Union did not create the states.
16:28And Fasha Federalists of today want evermore growing Federalist tyrannical power and destruction of the states' rights.
16:39You're seeing that.
16:41You know that.
16:42You speak out against that.
16:44Yes, I mean, I think that the ultimate, like, sovereignty is guaranteed, like, in the Constitution, that the powers, like, not delegated to the federal government are delegated to states.
17:03And then, like, states can then devolve that power to, like, local bodies and eventually the individual.
17:08Because it's supposed to be protecting, like, property rights and the freedom of association.
17:12And yet, at the same time, we have an illegal usurpation overreach of powers Jimmy Carter creating to pay back the teachers' union to help get them elected.
17:24The Department of Education, which again is that Fasha Federalism dictating to the states how, and I say it's the new color R's.
17:37They're peddling radicalism, raunch, and racism that divide and conquer through CRT versus arithmetic reading, writing, arithmetic history.
17:51They're peddling softcore porn in the schools rather than to kill a mockingbird to teach about equality and individual rights.
18:03Because the Constitution is silent, it is a state right for control of education.
18:12You would agree with me on that, yes?
18:16Yeah, yes.
18:18Yeah, education really should not be administered by the federal government.
18:22And, yeah, the Constitution is pretty clear.
18:25That's a function that's devolved to the states.
18:27States can craft whatever policies they see fit on that matter.
18:31And it is amazing.
18:34It's a clear matter of history.
18:37The idiotic communist line, I call the left the commie-fascist-socists.
18:45This isn't the 1930s.
18:47That national socialist, Deutschland-Aberter Party, socialists, later known as fascists, like El Duce in Italy, fascists, and Franco-fascists in Spain, were fighting Moscow-backed communists at the time.
19:07Today, they're all the same.
19:11There are only minor variations on the same theme.
19:14And I'm betting you agree with me on that.
19:19Yeah, today we are facing definitely unique challenges from, like, the woke cultural left that is—
19:27Cultural Marxism, yep.
19:29Yeah, that is just obsessed with promoting demographic replacement via mass migration, promoting sexual degeneracy, and also engaging in this race-based form of Marxism where they're obsessed with trying to, like, as I mentioned before, promote agendas that involve the redistribution of resources based on racial—
19:56And even gender lines on so-called—to the benefit of so-called victim groups.
20:03And there is, like, definitely unique challenges to this epoch, but there are similarities in the type of radical spirit of these people.
20:12Yeah, well, time is flying already, so let me move to the issue of views have been cited by members of Congress.
20:23Now, I used to have a friend, he got himself in trouble, a re-election scandal where he paid for, you know, petition signatures, and who he bought them from had a lot of fake fraud names on there.
20:46So he ended up having to drop out of Congress rather than get re-elected, Thaddeus McCotter here in Michigan.
20:55And back when, you'll recall—and they still try, the left tries to call the GOP the party of no, N-O, as in we don't stand for anything, we're just always against everything.
21:11While I created the talking point, and through Thaddeus McCotter for a while, it got adopted in Congress on the right, we are the party of K-N-O-W.
21:25We say N-O to your leftist idiocy because it is unconstitutional, and we K-N-O-W better.
21:36We're for things that are constitutional, we're not going to go with your leftist agenda.
21:44So what kind of talking points, indeed, had permeated the right side of Congress out of your materials?
21:54Yes, so I do agree that it's good to have, like, a proactive agenda against the left and just the political establishment, because I think the political establishment as well is a big threat.
22:14Well, I'm glad you said that, because I need to make clear here.
22:20I don't wear the red Republican hat.
22:23I consider myself a Republican, a real one.
22:27I speak out every bit as much against RINOs and CINOs, conservatives in name only, who are often siding with leftists destroying our republic, too.
22:40So I just wanted to make that clarification.
22:42You strike me as the same.
22:47Yes, and this goes into the point, I'm a firm believer of, like, a proactive agenda where I want to roll back a lot of the excesses that we've seen over the last century of the government growing and bring more power back to the states.
23:02And ultimately, the people, local government and have stuff like much less closer to constituencies and not concentrated in D.C.
23:13because concentrated power is the enemy of liberty and economic stability in this country.
23:19So it's best that we work to have a proactive agenda where we get locally engaged and stop corruption and also provide an alternative framework where we focus on localism and reactivating our communities.
23:32I'm with you 100%.
23:35Are you familiar with the 1800s Norton V. Shelby Township case?
23:43No, not that I'm aware of.
23:46I highly recommend you and everybody else go back in the CTP archives and listen to the show on Norton V. Shelby.
23:57The Supreme Court ruled long ago, and the case has been ignored on purpose by many, of course, who want a deep state, sino, rhino, leftist, liberal, progressive, commie, fascist, sociist, deep state establishment, hack control of everything.
24:20That ruled, indeed, there has been government usurpation and exerting unauthorized power, and that case is there to help roll some of it back.
24:36And only recently, unfortunately, has that case seemingly been rediscovered and starting to be used in court case arguments as we have the precedent, we have the Constitution, the number one overriding precedent, and then we have Norton V. Shelby, which the court before Chief Justice Rob Turds, as I call him,
25:04Chief just asked, he's not a constitutionalist, he's a political hack a lot of times, moderating the court and trying to keep limited scope rulings, but Norton V. Shelby blatantly came out and said, all of this unconstitutionality is indeed unconstitutional, has no valid authority, and must be ruled back.
25:34Yes, yes, I'd even say that the courts themselves, especially the Supreme Court, especially when it's under liberal progressive control, has accumulated too much power, and this is part of my theme,
25:52where I think that we need to really empower state governments and local governments, and obviously downsize the federal government, because this is going away from the foundational principles of the country.
26:04Absolutely, absolutely, absolutely, I agree 100% there, and as I said, wow, times floating by, I try not to have shows that are very long, I call it today's Twitter attention span, everybody, you know, can't see beyond the nose on their face, everybody wants, give me the short condensed version,
26:31So, do you, let's start to wrap things up, do you yourself, other than the gumroad.com, where they can find those PDF books, do you yourself personally have a website of your own, or anything like that?
26:48Yes, so I'm active on social media, first up on x slash Twitter, at Jose Alnino, A-L-N-I-N-O, and then you can find me on Substack, where I'm mostly active publishing articles,
27:05and that Substack is called Jose Alnino Unfiltered, and that's josbcf.substack.com, my podcast El Nino Speaks is there as well, and that is also on iTunes, Spotify, and it's also on YouTube as well.
27:23Good stuff, good stuff. Thank you, Jose Alnino, not El Nino, like the weather phenomenon.
27:33So, is Al your middle name?
27:39No, well, partially, yes, technically, yes, because it's Alberto, yeah.
27:44Okay, yeah, and hence the J-O-S-E-A-L-N-I-N-O on social media, okay, yeah.
27:52You better start using the A in there to distinguish yourself from that imposter that's out there.
