The Land's Alexandra Bernard takes a look at the trends across the store sales this week.
Transcript
00:00I'm Alexandra Bernard and there was muddy and mud in the store cattle market this week as wet weather didn't dampen prices across the state.
00:09At Grafton last Thursday, while ongoing wet and wintry conditions affected how cattle were presented, there was plenty of competition on the rails.
00:18Prices trended dearer by about $150 a head for steers weighing 200 to 300 kilograms.
00:25Down at the south coast on Bega last Thursday, prices rose by about $100 a head for the better end of the steers, while the rest of the market held firm.
00:36There was good buying support from local buyers, as well as those from south and west Gippsland in Victoria.
00:42At Tamworth last Friday, wet weather impacted yarding numbers and cattle were considerably dearer than the previous port time.
00:49Wiener Steers sold for a top of $1680 a head with strong support from Taroum in Queensland, as well as buyers from Armidale, Bingborough, Inborough and the local area.
