00:00Zach, what were your biggest takeaways from that game?
00:02What kind of evaluations did you have?
00:04Well, I thought there were some good things early on, you know,
00:06aside from they got the interception for the touchdown.
00:09But I thought our defense after that first drive started out well,
00:13got those two stops.
00:14Those were some key guys playing in that possession
00:15that we're kind of counting on.
00:17So that was good to see.
00:19But didn't love how we finished the half, obviously.
00:22Didn't love how we second half game really got away from us,
00:26and then that's not the things we wanted to see.
00:27Zach, any injury info on today?
00:29Dajon, Anthony, or Jermaine Burton?
00:31Dajon looks like a hamstring.
00:33Don't know the timeline on that.
00:34Burton looks like a knee.
00:35Don't know the timeline on that.
00:37Is that a re-aggravation of maybe something?
00:38It's possible, yeah.
00:42Is that something that you think could affect?
00:46Totally unknown.
00:47Don't know at this point.
00:48What does it say about Max Densley?
00:51That he obviously addressed, like, you didn't need to see him today.
00:55No, I didn't need to see him today.
00:56I think he's had a great training camp.
00:58I'm not going to proclaim anything here on Saturday,
01:01but we had a couple days to make decisions.
01:03But I thought that he had a great training camp,
01:05and there's nothing else I needed to see from him.
01:07How was your value over camp Anthony?
01:10I was pleased with how he came in.
01:12You know, a day before training camp, picked up the offense,
01:14did a great job trying to affect his teammates,
01:16winning into the quarterback room.
01:18Appreciate all that about him.
01:20You know, I know today he'd like it to be a little bit cleaner in some areas,
01:23but appreciate his work ethic, appreciate his attitude,
01:26appreciate how he fit in as a Cincinnati Bengal.
01:28And, again, we'll continue to move on with him and everybody else.
01:34What were you looking for with Rivers, and what did you see?
01:37I'll have to assess the tape on that.
01:39We just thought he needed a little more playing time, you know, as a rookie.
01:42And so we got him in that red guard and let him play.
01:44I think it was 23 plays before we got him out.
01:46And then we'll assess what it looked like.
01:48Zach, it looked like Evan McPherson wanted to have a go
01:50as the first half was winding down from, like, close to midfield there.
01:55I think that's any kind of indication.
01:57I mean, he's performed well in these games.
01:59Do you think he's in a good spot?
02:00Yeah, I mean, that's probably 66.
02:01I think we were on the 48.
02:03So, you know, he may be able to take a shot at it,
02:06but we weren't going to do it today.
02:08How much of your defensive scheme did you show tonight?
02:12I don't have a percentage on it.
02:14With this being the final preseason game,
02:16do you have any overarching thoughts on just how you thought the training
02:19you've been the preseason went for your team?
02:20I thought we got all the work done that we needed to get done.
02:22I really feel good.
02:23I like where we're at from a health standpoint.
02:25I like where we're at from an install standpoint.
02:28Our key guys understand what we're trying to get, what our intent is.
02:31So I feel really good as a football team where we're at right now.
02:34And so now we get a chance next week with a bonus week
02:36to get a head start on Cleveland,
02:39and then next week we'll get after it.
02:41What are your thoughts on Matt Lee?
02:42Obviously he was dealing with the injury for most of the game,
02:44but was he able to start today?
02:45It'll be good to watch the tape from today
02:47because he just hasn't had a lot of opportunity this training camp.
02:51Coming off the injury, and so, again, we really helped him out last week
02:55because he's only been practicing very minimal a lot of time before the game.
02:59He got two, really, a day of work this week
03:02because we were only going to practice once, and then he played today.
03:03So we'll evaluate the tape and see what we think there.
03:06McKinley played a lot today.
03:08Was there something that you specifically wanted to see in extended time for him?
03:11Consistency, just a continued improvement.
03:14A long opportunity to continue to show us that there's going to be consistency there.
03:18How much of today goes towards your consideration for practice squad,
03:23for players that maybe get through the process and then...
03:25Sure.
03:26Yeah, today's meaningful, you know, and so, again, we'll assess the tape.
03:30We'll have final conversations tomorrow and Monday on where we want to go,
03:34and there's probably been a lot of moments in my career
03:37where a guy has made a solidifying impression on the final preseason game
03:41or maybe your decision was going the other way.
03:44So, again, we'll just watch it all, evaluate it,
03:45and see if any of that happened for us.
03:47You made shock at Captain, just kind of the salute to his camp?
03:54Yeah, I think so.
03:55I think just the growth overall from where he's come over the last couple years,
03:59I think that he's had a real good camp.
04:02And just I've been impressed with just overall his development level
04:06over the course of this offseason training camp
04:08and just felt it was appropriate for him to be a captain.
04:10Do you have an update on Demetrius tonight?
04:12He was day-to-day.
04:13So we just held him out Thursday.
04:15He would have been able to play in a game this weekend.
04:17There were some guys that missed practice on Thursday.
04:19We held him out of pregame warm-ups and stuff like that,
04:21but nothing I'm concerned about.
04:25Are you pleased with where the team is mentally
04:27in terms of understanding the new scheme?
04:30I am.
04:30That you might have put in offensively and elbows in his defensive scheme.
04:32Yeah, I am.
04:33I thought Thursday was a great day of work for our ones-on-ones.
04:38Got a lot of drives.
04:39I feel really good about where we're at.
04:41And so now, again, we'll assess the state, put it behind us,
04:43and move forward fully with the guys making the roster.
04:47It's probably the most work Milton's ever done, I think,
04:49probably since he's been here.
04:51I mean, it's probably kind of a week that's advertised.
04:54I mean, we got him after training camp last year,
04:57so we never got a chance to see him in the preseason games.
04:59He had the injury he was dealing with early in camp.
05:01So it was really good these last two weeks to get him out there.
05:04I thought he's done well.
05:05So, yeah, he was a hard guy to assess up until, you know, about a week ago.
05:10So it's been good to get him that work.
