In this video, we compare a range of animal-themed flute whistles to find out which one sounds best. From the realistic Owl whistle and playful Monkey ornament to the tranquil Elephant whistle and the versatile purring Cat guiro—part whistle, part scraper, part ornament—we explore their unique features and tones. Ryan shares his thoughts on each, and we invite you to join the conversation by letting us know your favorite in the comments.

00:00In this video, we're going to be taking a look at our inappropriate whistles to discover which one
00:05sounds the best. We'll start with the least inappropriate one, which is the owl whistle.
00:15So that one's actually got quite a nice sound. It does actually sound like an owl. If I had to
00:20rate it out of 10, I would say it's probably a solid nine. The next one, the monkey, as we've
00:28discovered before with this one, you can either blow its bum. It doesn't sound like a monkey.
00:36What if we try its lips? It's a bit too squeaky to be a monkey. It doesn't make a monkey sound.
00:43Don't approve of this one. I think I'd rate that one maybe a three out of 10. It's quite unrealistic.
00:47And by the way, this is just my opinion. If you think one's better than the other, let me know in
00:52the comments what you think, what number you would give it. Now we're going to blow smoke up the
00:56elephant's bum. And by the way, when I'm playing this, I'm imagining that I'm an elephant. So
01:08I'm trying to get the sound accurate. So imagining this is my long sort of elephant trunk and
01:15it's, it's still a bit squeaky. I think maybe a bit too squeaky to be an elephant. I would rate it a six
01:20or a seven because it does sound more realistic than the monkey, the last one, the cat. And it's
01:25so inappropriate, isn't it? It makes me laugh. That's how childish I am. And
01:35it doesn't sound like a cat either, does it really? That one. I think that one's probably a three.
01:39The clear winner is the owl. That one's got the most accurate sound.
01:42If you are interested in taking a look at these lovely musical instruments, I will put a link in
01:50the description so that you can do that. They're all handmade, handcrafted. The cat one doubles up
01:54as a whistle and a guairo. The monkey is a hanging ornament. As you can see, it has a little bit here
02:01where you can hang it up as a bit of a decoration or a whistle. The owl is freestanding. It just sits
02:07and it's a great whistle, more accurate. And the elephant, you could have that as a little ornament
02:12and no one would even know that it's got a whistle in its bum. Anyway, I hope you liked this video.
02:16And if you did, you will really like this playlist right here where we do more sound demos of our
02:21wonderful musical instruments from around the world. See you there.
