00:00Discovering that grace can bring transformation isn't new.
00:20For centuries, in many cultures, there has been a tradition of thanking God every day,
00:26and in return, God bestows grace, which in Sanskrit is called Kripa.
00:34Offering gratitude starts an inner conversation.
00:39On one side of the conversation is your thanks and devotion for the good things in your life.
00:48On the other side is the response, which is to bring you more good things to be grateful for.
00:58So let's begin the conversation right this minute.
01:03Think of three good things in your life.
01:08They don't have to be the most important things, just whatever you feel in your heart.
01:18If it's a beautiful morning and you have a rose sitting in a vase and breakfast in front of you,
01:24that's three things already.
01:29Now take the first thing, whatever it is.
01:32If the thing isn't in front of you, visualize it in your mind.
01:38Send thanks to it.
01:40You can say the words thank you if you feel comfortable starting that way.
01:47But the real key is feeling.
01:49Let the feeling of gratitude come from your heart.
01:54It's a warm, gentle sensation that brings a smile.
02:03Now comes a new element.
02:06Imagine that whatever you're grateful for, a person, a precious memento, something beautiful in nature, is aware of your thanks.
02:18See it smiling back at you, shimmering with the same warm feeling.
02:26Your thanks has been received and welcomed.
02:32After a moment, go to the second thing and give thanks for it.
02:38Then see it receive your thanks.
02:44Move on to the third thing and repeat again.
02:50You have successfully started the flow of grace.
02:55Grace, when it is alive and flowing, works like a feedback loop.
03:01You give something to the source, and in turn, a response comes back to you.
03:09The secret is that every time you do this, you change the pathways in your brain.
03:16These new pathways change your perception.
03:21They allow you to pay attention to the good things you are grateful for, and in return, grace welcomes you.
03:33Now that you know the method, make it part of your routine.
03:39Start paying attention during your day-to-day activities, taking a moment for each thing you are thankful for.
03:49Feel the emotion. Don't just have a passing thought.
03:55The best way to feel gratitude is in mind and body.
04:03Let the warmth of gratitude begin in your heart and spread outward.
04:09It helps to visualize what you are grateful for.
04:13Honoring how you are supported, even in the smallest ways, connects you emotionally with the flow of life.
04:23Gratitude brings the support you need in life.
04:29This is how grace becomes real and practical.
04:33You are learning the truth behind the teaching of Kripa, which goes back thousands of years.
04:42As we prepare to meditate together, let's take a moment to consider our centering thought.
04:55All good things bring gratitude.
05:01All good things bring gratitude.
05:05Now let's prepare for our meditation.
05:12Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.
05:19Begin to be aware of your breath and just breathe slowly and deeply.
05:28With each breath, allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.
05:38Now, gently introduce the mantra, Kripa Hum.
05:44This means, I am Divine Grace.
05:48This mantra sets in motion the flow of grace through gratitude.
05:54As you repeat the mantra, feel yourself as both the giver and receiver of blessings.
06:04Repeat it silently to yourself.
06:08Kripa Hum.
06:11Kripa Hum.
06:14With each repetition, feel your body, mind and spirit open and receive just a little more.
06:31Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return your attention to silently repeating the mantra.
