Air travel has been halted to a ground stop in Tampa as of the morning of Aug. 22. In the afternoon, thunderstorms could lead to major delays and even ground stops in Atlanta.

00:00As you get later and later in the morning, you run a larger and larger risk for travel delays.

00:06We have some for you at the airports.

00:09Already in Orlando, we have some minor delays.

00:11But now in Tampa, because we see those thunderstorms, we have a ground stop.

00:16They may be in a ground stop for quite some time here.

00:19I would also worry about delays in Atlanta this afternoon with thunderstorms.

00:23Easily some ground stops there.

00:25I have minor delays now in Charlotte, Miami, and Orlando.

00:28But they could be ground stops as well if the thunderstorms comes right over the airport.
