We went out into Manchester to ask people on the street about beach holidays and whether there’s a way that places like Blackpool could become popular destinations again.

00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name's Theo Houston-Betts and today I'm out
00:03on the streets of Manchester talking to people about beaches. And that's because the results
00:06of a witch survey have come out recently to reveal the three worst beaches in the UK.
00:10And we want to know if people would still plan a beach holiday in 2025 or whether the
00:14draw of going abroad would be too much for them.
00:17I don't think they've progressed. They're still stuck in time. You go to places like
00:23Scarborough and Blackpool and they're not moving forward.
00:29Well, I'm from North Wales. So home is North Wales. I literally live on the coast and I
00:34wouldn't say that they're struggling. I feel like if anything, it's like the place to get away.
00:38I sense there seems to be a big commercial issue there as well. It's all about making money
00:45I think out of the business of tourism there.
00:48In Covid as well, all the seas went a nice colour so everyone was on it. But now Covid's
00:53gone and the sea's basically black. Maybe I wouldn't go.
00:59I'm sorry.
