00:00This record I picked up is The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles and Frit. Featuring Rob Frit, incredible guitarist, done so much prog, can't be seen.
00:21We have Bowie records, just like kind of revolutionary guitars. This record is just a weird collection of Canterbury Scenes songs, also with like weird sort of skits in between of chatting and stuff. It's kind of just a bit crazy.
00:40This record is Body Love by Klaus Schultz. I love all of his records and this one follows the same kind of system of Pat McCauley writes, which is really extended synth instrumentals.
00:55Every track writer goes for like 15 minutes. The B side of this goes for 30 minutes. And you can just really get lost in, I guess, the different ebbs and flows.
01:06Every time you hear it, you can have a different listening experience when you hear it.
01:12Alright, so I picked up this new record. This one is like phenomenally brilliant rock.
01:20It was recorded by this Japanese artist in the 70s and her backing band, slash I think they produced it as well, is a band from Cannes.
01:30Well, just all the members of Cannes, apart from their mississippi. This is really cool.
01:35Kind of crouching folk, but with like driving records and lots of acoustic instruments.
01:41Yeah, it's a very, very good record, highly rated.
01:46I've gone for the slightly more well-known album. This is broadcast, the noise made by people. I was very late to the broadcast train, but the algorithm sent me their way maybe like 10 years ago or something.
02:05And I absolutely loved them. And I was like, where have they been all my life?
02:09My second pick is the Dukes of the Stratosphere 25 o'clock.
02:15This is actually a record technically by XTC, sort of 80s New Wavey prog band, but they did a fake band called Dukes of Stratosphere.
02:28It's a collection of psych prog. They basically pretend to be like a forgotten 60s psych band.
02:36My podcast was kind of leaning forward towards the like cinematic weightless side of Eggie.
02:45School damage was more like, I guess where Eggie started off with like the Melbourne like wobbly pop sounds.
02:52And I definitely listened to this album a lot when Eggie was first starting off.
