00:01When you start something, if it's on your heart, it will be successful.
00:07My heart told me that this is what I was supposed to be doing, and there was no turning back.
00:14Rustler means outlaw.
00:18Kind of a little bad girl-ish.
00:22When you walk in the front door, you're going to feel something.
00:27My name is Alex Samuels. I'm the owner of Rustler Hat Co. right here in Nashville, Tennessee.
00:43We decided to start Rustler in March of 2021.
00:47I definitely think that if I knew the ins and outs of running a retail business, I probably would have never started Rustler Hat Co.
00:56Maybe two months in, we couldn't really keep our hats in stock.
01:00You know that saying, someone sold a shirt off their back?
01:03Well, we literally sold a hat off our head.
01:08So then I started thinking, wow, like people actually want our brand.
01:13Not just our hat, they want our brand.
01:15You can sell cowboy hats. You can attempt to do what we're doing, but you're never going to have what we have, which is our team.
01:25Getting the best people on our team has been our biggest asset to our brand.
01:30We call it kind of our secret sauce.
01:32It really creates this vibe within our store.
01:35People love our energy, and that's one of the pieces that we bring to our experience.
01:41When we were opening, we didn't even research. We just immediately went with Square.
01:51Square is nationally known, and so it's very comfortable, not only with our staff, but also with our customer.
01:57We can watch real-time sales to know what needs to be replenished on a daily basis.
02:03If I don't have something in store, Square allows me to look at what I might have available in our warehouse, and we can bring it right over.
02:10The ability to have multiple locations on Square has been very important for the success and the growth of our business.

02:34All we do is grab the iPad and go.
02:36We know that our inventory is going to be accurate.
02:39We know that our accounting system is going to be there, and so it allows us to go and grow knowing that Square's with us.
02:50My goal for Rustler is to just let as many people experience our brand and have those feelings that we typically get from our customers throughout the country.
03:00And I hope that we can continue to make sure that every touch on every customer is something that, you know, as a team we're prideful of.
