00:00This summer I've been checking out some of the area's most recommended beauty spots so this week I decided to check out Brock Bottom which is just on the outskirts of Preston near the area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Forest of Boland.
00:16Even though I am from Preston I've never been here before but I decided to just whack the details in the sat nav and it took us down some fairly narrow and winding country lanes until we got to Brock Mill Lane and this car park which is reasonably small for the amount of visitors on a nice sunny day so bear that in mind when you're setting off it's first come first serve I reckon it would probably fit 15 to 20 cars.
00:42There's about five or six picnic benches really close to the car park and a hop skip and jump from I thought it was a river but it's apparently Winsnake Brook which is a quite shallow water quite rocky but you can sit there on the kind of the banks of it have a drink have a picnic some people had some rugs out but dogs love it children were paddling in it it was beautiful there were some little waterfalls that were there
01:12there were some insects because obviously water and vegetation but the water was so clear very cold but if you don't want a massive walk although there is a circular loop that you can do the details are available online on visitpreston.com
01:30If you just want a nice place to visit for a picnic in rural Preston try this out it is lovely great photo opportunities nice clear water but there's no bins that I could see so if you're taking a picnic take your stuff home
