Marcos 'very angry' over non-existent riverwall in Bulacan

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Aug. 20, 2025 said he was 'extremely' disappointed after personally visiting the site of a supposedly completed riverwall project in Baliuag, Bulacan only to find out 'not even one hollow block' was put in place. 'More than (being) disappointed, I am getting very angry,' Marcos said in a chance interview following his inspection in Barangay Piel of the supposed '220 meters, P55 million infrastructure," which turned out to be 'really nothing.' The contract for the construction of the infrastructure, which took effect last February, was awarded to Syms Construction Trading. Marcos threatened to file 'economic sabotage' charges against these erring government contractors.

00:00Disappointed?
00:01Extremely.
00:02Well, more than disappointed.
00:07I'm getting very angry is what's happening here.
00:17I didn't know how to do this.
00:24There's no one.
00:26There's no one in public works.
00:31There's no one that's done.
00:35There's no one who's working there.
00:37You can't see anything.
00:40Staying busy.
00:42Yes.
00:45So, if all of these projects were properly executed and implemented,
00:55there are so many problems with us and with people,
00:59and they will be better for irrigation,
01:03water supply, fresh water supply for households.
01:07But this is what they did, it's really hard for local residents.
01:15So, yes, I'm not disappointed, I'm angry.
01:20So, the COA Fraud Audit of Culacan Projects,
01:23anong end role, sir? Filing cases?
01:25Yes, if need be, of course.
01:28As I said, our trotto with all of these,
01:32for example, this is a falsification,
01:35so that's already a very big violation.
01:48And for the big ones,
01:51I'm thinking very hard to pick up economic sabotage
01:55because economic sabotage is very clearly.
02:00In the meantime, we have to actually still build the flood control programs.
02:03But, let's see.
02:05In the meantime, we have to actually still build the flood control program.
02:07the government of the Philippines, the Republic of the Philippines,
02:11will be able to prevent everything that will be better.
02:15Because now we will return to it.
02:17Where is the money going?
02:19We will be able to take it.
02:21How long will that take?
02:23In the meantime, we have to actually still build the flood control project.
02:31Sir, nationwide the filing?
02:33I'm sorry?
02:34Nationwide the filing of cases it may be?
02:36Well, it depends on what our findings will be.
02:40So there's a legal team working on that.
02:42But in the meantime, we are continuing to go through the records of public works and all the big contractors
02:50to see kung tumutugma yung kanilang report
02:56So that's why I encourage, napaka-useful, napaka-malaking bagay at napapakinabangan namin ang gusto
03:34So that's what we are going to do.
04:43Yung simento, nipis-nipis.
04:46Muzi-nipis!
