More flood control project anomalies bared in Ilocos Norte
Former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson accuses contractors in Ilocos Norte of cornering billions in questionable flood control projects and questions how President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. could denies knowledge of the deals in his own province. At a press conference in Club Filipino, San Juan City, on Sept. 19, 2025, Singson named four firms, including St. Matthew General Contractor and St. Gerard Construction, which allegedly handled projects worth over ₱1.5 billion. He called for the arrest of those behind the contracts and dismissed investigators as unreliable. Singson also urged students and youth to lead a peaceful revolution against corruption, warning that waiting for official probes would only prolong public suffering. He said the fight was for the future of the next generation.
