00:00:50There's lots to talk about. There's the results from the Premier Sports Cup over the weekend.
00:00:54This is how it all panned out.
00:00:56Did your favourite team go through at the end of it?
00:01:00There were lots of games looking forward to over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
00:01:04Celtic comfortably easing past Falkirk.
00:01:07Rangers eventually 4-2 over Allowa.
00:01:10Greenock, Morton 0-1, Aberdeen 3.
00:01:12Partick Thistle 2, United 0-1.
00:01:14St Johnston 0-1.
00:01:16St Mirren 1, Hearts 1.
00:01:17It was Saints who go through in the penalty shootout.
00:01:19Livingston 0-0, Hibs 2 and Killy 2, Dundee United 1.
00:01:24A couple of those games went to extra time.
00:01:26Ruffie, I don't know about you, but I would do away with extra time.
00:01:29I think we should go straight to penalties.
00:01:31Yeah, I don't see why the home team should get an extra 30 minutes at home.
00:01:35You know, I think it would be right to go straight to penalties.
00:01:38I think it would be more even that way.
00:01:41But again, you know, the guys that took the penalty kicks I saw at the weekend were absolutely superb.
00:01:47Yeah, how do you feel about that?
00:01:48I mean, I did ask Derek McInnes, he says, oh no, no, extra time.
00:01:51A couple of the players said traditionalists, but I don't see the point, Tam.
00:01:54I mean, apart from anything else, I mean, and it's not because the journalists think,
00:01:58come on, come on, we want to go out on Saturday night.
00:02:01I mean, in mid-week up at Tarraday, I think I got home at 1 o'clock in the morning.
00:02:06But I don't see the point of it.
00:02:07Yeah, I don't know if I agree, Peter.
00:02:11You can't beat somebody in 90 minutes, Tam.
00:02:12Just go on a penalty shootout.
00:02:13Well, listen, I think everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I quite like it.
00:02:18Extra time.
00:02:19Yeah?
00:02:19I like extra time, Peter.
00:02:20I think.
00:02:21Why?
00:02:21I just think it's an extra half an hour football for people to watch, fans.
00:02:25That's the only reason.
00:02:26What about a player's perspective?
00:02:28Well, from a player's perspective, you're going to retire.
00:02:32But I would keep it as it is, Peter.
00:02:35I agree with Ruffey.
00:02:35I thought the penalty shootout of Hearts against St Myrne, there's only one.
00:02:39I think the first St Myrne penalty, the goal they should have saved.
00:02:41But by that, St Myrne's penalties were outstanding.
00:02:43So I think there's a skill and an art to that.
00:02:45But I have no problem with extra time and an extra bonus half an hour football for supporters.
00:02:49I think it gives the big teams more an advantage with a bigger pool.
00:02:54You know, an extra 30 minutes you throw on your players off the bench, where the other
00:02:58teams that haven't got that strongest pool are going to struggle even more.
00:03:02Yeah.
00:03:02Okay.
00:03:02Give us your thoughts.
00:03:03Would you do away with extra time and go straight to penalties?
00:03:06Or do you like that extra half hour, 15 minutes each way to see if you can get some kind of
00:03:13resolution from it?
00:03:14We'd love to know.
00:03:15Managers and players are always bleating on about there's too many games, there's too
00:03:19much asked of players.
00:03:21Does that apply when you're talking about Scotland and the likes of the Premier Sports
00:03:24Cup?
00:03:25We'd love to hear from you on it.
00:03:26Before we get into the meat and bones of each game and give us your thoughts on it, we'd
00:03:31love to hear from you.

00:04:12Two guys are here with me, Celtic Ease Through Comfortably in the end.
00:04:174-1 with Maida, Johnson, Dane Murray and sadly for Liam Henderson and OG.
00:04:23Keelan Adams hit a good one for Falkirk.
00:04:26Overall, Brendan Rodgers happy to get that one comfortably out of the way on the Friday
00:04:31and maybe focus all his thoughts now on Kyrat Almaty, Ruffey.
00:04:35Yeah, you can see by the team selection.
00:04:37I think there was only four first-team regulars in the start of the 11.
00:04:41Most of the fringe players got a game and as you said, they controlled the game very well.
00:04:46You know, it was a good goal for the Falkirk boy but I think on the whole, it just shows
00:04:50you the strength and depth that they've got and it'll keep a lot of the fresh ones for
00:04:55the midweek.
00:04:56Yeah, quite a scathing group of people who watched the live part of our programme.
00:05:00For those who listen to podcasts, they're quite relaxed.
00:05:03They're maybe walking the dog.
00:05:04They're maybe just having a wee saunter about in the house, Tam, with some earphones on.
00:05:08And for those who watch it on YouTube at a later time, they could scream at some of
00:05:14the points that are made on our live section.
00:05:17Paul Brady's quite scathing.
00:05:18He says, Tam, you'd have been subbed before extra time.
00:05:21You're dreaming.
00:05:23I'm doing it, Ruff.
00:05:25I've never actually thought about that.
00:05:28Also, Robert says he would prefer extra time.
00:05:32It just depends on what you like, what you're used to.
00:05:36Maybe the younger generation would like to get to the excitement of penalties right away.
00:05:40Give us your thoughts on that.
00:05:42One rumour that hasn't gone away, I know it's on the back page of the Sun newspaper.
00:05:47He's got 24 hours before the kick-off, which is tomorrow, up until tomorrow, Brendan Rodgers
00:05:54can bring in two players.
00:05:56So, the rumour is Jamie Vardy.
00:05:59What do you make of that chat, Ruffie?
00:06:01Well, I think down through the years, he's been fantastic, particularly Leicester.
00:06:05I think he was a top goalscorer for a few years.
00:06:08Obviously, he's got a lot of experience.
00:06:10You would like to think that coming up here in our domestic league, he wouldn't be playing
00:06:16against the same calibre of player as what he's been playing against down in England.
00:06:19So, we saw some of the guys that have come up to Celtic who have done particularly well.
00:06:23Bellamy, he had a good time when he came up, scoring goals for fun.
00:06:28Yeah?
00:06:29Robbie Keane, do you know what I think?
00:06:30Both of them lost the title.
00:06:31Yeah.
00:06:32Oh, well.
00:06:33Yeah.
00:06:34I just want to know how you two judge success.
00:06:39No, I'm just saying I think he's got enough quality in his game.
00:06:42He's still fit enough.
00:06:43He's still banging in the goals.
00:06:45So, it'll be interesting to see, you know, obviously the connections with Brendan Nodgers.
00:06:50That is the big thing.
00:06:52But I wouldn't imagine him signing him tomorrow and throwing him into that game.
00:06:57No.
00:06:59He says he's fit.
00:07:00Yeah, I think he'd be great signing Peter.
00:07:02I think he's still got a lot to offer.
00:07:03I think you've seen him in a team that struggled last season in Leicester.
00:07:07You know, he's still got his share of goals.
00:07:08He's still looked sharp.
00:07:09He's still looked fit.
00:07:10You know, he doesn't look as if he's lost any pace.
00:07:12And I think he's got the character and the personality play for Celtic.
00:07:16I think they would lap it up, the pressure of old firm games and Champions League games,
00:07:20hopefully from a Celtic point of view.
00:07:21So, yeah, there's a few that have come up and haven't done too well.
00:07:25But I look at him, I think he's still got the hunger and determination to come up and do really well for Celtic.
00:07:29I think he'd be a great signing.
00:07:30Yeah.
00:07:32Maestro says Ian Wright and Freddie Lundberg.
00:07:34Yeah.
00:07:34Well done.
00:07:35Dion Dublin.
00:07:36What?
00:07:37Dion Dublin.
00:07:38Was Dion Dublin a failure?
00:07:40I don't remember him.
00:07:40I think he scored in the League Cup final.
00:07:42Ian Wright.
00:07:44Ian Wright.
00:07:45You know, players that come up.
00:07:47Big names.
00:07:48No, I don't think they produced what we thought they were going to produce.
00:07:51No.
00:07:51We've got a bargain with Dion Dublin, but...
00:07:53Yeah, absolutely.
00:07:54Well, I mean, the kitchen.
00:07:55I mean, this will need a new kitchen.
00:07:56And the hallway's a disgrace.
00:07:59So, I love that when he's standing in what can only be described as something like...
00:08:04A hole.
00:08:05Yeah, and it's just an absolute nightmare.
00:08:07And he goes, they might need to do that toilet up.
00:08:09Really?
00:08:10I love it when they go back and they say, how much did you spend?
00:08:13Two grand.
00:08:14Yeah.
00:08:14And the place is like Palace.
00:08:17You know, Rafi, I actually wonder about that.
00:08:19I always say to myself, how the heck can they get it for that in four days?
00:08:23But nevertheless, Celtic comfortably through.
00:08:26Will they get a signing in?
00:08:27Do they need a signing?
00:08:29It's one of those things where, again, Brendan's being clever when he's asked the question.
00:08:34But do they need signings to get past Kair at Almaty?
00:08:37That's the big question.
00:08:39And is it a massive gamble here, Tam, that could end up with, you know, a real bit of what I would call aggro if they were not to qualify?
00:08:49I think it is a big gamble, Peter.
00:08:51I think that the Celtic board and the Celtic directors are looking at the tie and going, you know, we've got enough as it is to beat them and get into the Champions League.
00:09:00But if it, you know, if it don't go through, there's going to be, the Celtic fans are going to be raging.
00:09:04There's going to be a big outpouring of anger towards the board and the guys that run the club.
00:09:09So I think Celtic will go through.
00:09:11I think they've got more than enough to beat Kair at Almaty.
00:09:13But they are taking a bit of a punt.
00:09:16They are taking a bit of a punt that they'll go through.
00:09:18And I think they would need to take maybe a two or three goal lead over there.
00:09:21Because it's a long trip and Celtic have not traditionally done well over there.
00:09:25So I think that they need to go and win two or three nothing at home and then they can kind of cruise through.
00:09:29Yeah.
00:09:29What's the longest trip you've ever made as a professional footballer, Ruffy?
00:09:34Brazil.
00:09:35Yeah.
00:09:35Rio de Janeiro.
00:09:36Yeah.
00:09:37It was horrendous.
00:09:38In what respect?
00:09:39It was horrendous coming back, you know, because we were first class going up in the big bubble of the Qantas.
00:09:46Coming back, we were all the back.
00:09:49All the back.
00:09:50So really a kind of a political statement there from you.
00:09:55You're social class.
00:09:56Is that fair, Tam?
00:09:57You know, I want to be first class because I'm somebody from Knightswood that deserves it.
00:10:03And then going back the way, I'm not happy because I'm not getting home.
00:10:07I had a good one when my wife Maggie was doing the travel piece for the paper and we got invited to Cuba, which is a fair old shout.
00:10:17But that was business class going.
00:10:20And after our trip on the way back, we were coming onto the plane and the stewardess said, Mr. Ruff?
00:10:26And I said, yes, because Maggie wrote the piece with my name.
00:10:30Yes.
00:10:31Okay.
00:10:31So the stewardess said, Mr. Ruff, I see you're doing a piece on our aeroplane for your paper.
00:10:35And I went, yes, I am.
00:10:37I'd like to upgrade you to the first class.
00:10:40I said, well, thanks very much.
00:10:41I said, what about my wife?
00:10:42She went, no, she's not getting there.
00:10:44Maggie had to sit upstairs in the business class and then the stewardess come back and she said, Mr. Ruff, you're allowed guests for an hour, if you'd like, because you have a whole bar, you have a whole bar run about you.
00:10:59So I said, could you ask the lady in seat Jai 3 to come down if she's like.
00:11:04Is that Maggie?
00:11:04Maggie.
00:11:09No way you get Maggie to.
00:11:12Hi, Jenny.
00:11:14After an hour, after an hour and she drank all my brandy.
00:11:19Stewardess says, I'm sorry, madam, but you have to go back to your seat.
00:11:21Yeah, because there's no drink left.
00:11:25Brilliant, Ruffie.
00:11:26Anyway, I think comfortable enough.
00:11:30Is it a roll of the dice?
00:11:31Yep.
00:11:31If they get it in the neck, if they don't make it.
00:11:33That's what I'm saying.
00:11:33The point you're making, then, who gets it in the neck more than the other?
00:11:36Ah, the board.
00:11:38Absolutely.
00:11:39What about all the people who Brendan says don't like them?
00:11:42I'm sure they'll direct a lot of that.
00:11:44No, no, no, that.
00:11:46Well, I said last week, Ruffie, just discard that.
00:11:49Brendan doesn't need to care who likes and doesn't like him.
00:11:51You know, really, when you're a grown man and some people don't like you or don't like you,
00:11:55then you don't think about it.
00:11:56You're paid well.
00:11:58You've got to go and do a job.
00:11:59Yes, you want two or three quality players.
00:12:02I think he will get them.
00:12:04But unfortunately for the Celtic fans, they just have to suck it up nowadays and say,
00:12:09listen, you can moan all you want.
00:12:11You're getting them late.
00:12:12And here are the reasons why.
00:12:15And if they get into the group stages, then you have to applaud the board and say,
00:12:19well, you rolled the dice.
00:12:21Now you've got 100 million in the bank.
00:12:23You've got another 60 million coming.
00:12:25So, Brendan, here's your three quality players.
00:12:28On you go.
00:12:30Yes, I agree with you, Peter.
00:12:31I think they will bring three in.
00:12:32I think they'll bring two wingers and a striker in.
00:12:36Whether that's Vardy and another two wingers, I don't know.
00:12:37But they're linked to a lot of clubs.
00:12:38And Celtic have always been a club that wants value for money.
00:12:42Peter Lawwell, Michael Nicholson, the board, they want value for money.
00:12:45And they're prepared to play clubs poker, you know, in terms of the fees.
00:12:50And towards the end of the window, they'll maybe up it a little bit.
00:12:52But I think there's a lot of that going on just now.
00:12:55You know, they're waiting to see who's available, what sort of fees they're looking for.
00:12:59But I think that Celtic will eventually bring players in.
00:13:02But I don't see it before, obviously, this tie.
00:13:06Yeah, I'd be surprised if they brought even one player in before this tie.
00:13:12The other thing which was nice to see was the boy Dane Murray,
00:13:15who's had a tough time getting himself a goal
00:13:17and had a chance to maybe resurrect his career
00:13:20and maybe put himself at the forefront of the manager's thoughts.
00:13:24Yeah, I think he's very highly rated by Brendan Rodgers.
00:13:26I think he's given him opportunities.
00:13:28He played them down at Aston Villa on the Champions League last.
00:13:31He don't know if they did a great game.
00:13:31I think he might have come on and conceded a sloppy goal.
00:13:36But I think Brendan Rodgers really rates him.
00:13:38He speaks highly of him.
00:13:39I think he's trying to bleed them into games like that.
00:13:42It was a perfect opportunity.
00:13:43You know, playing Falkirk at home.
00:13:44You know, they're going to have a lot of the ball.
00:13:46So, listen, there's a lot of centre-halves.
00:13:49There is a lot of centre-halves at Celtic at the minute.
00:13:51You still need a left-back as cover.
00:13:53Yeah, I think they need a left-back as cover for Cairn Tierney,
00:13:56who was outstanding there.
00:13:58You can see him getting fit and stronger every game.
00:13:59Peter, I just think he needs minutes on the pitch.
00:14:01And you'll see the real Cairn Tierney back.
00:14:04But, yeah, Celtic win the game comfortably.
00:14:07Falkirk came and opened up and tried to make it a game,
00:14:10which is great.
00:14:11You know, made it an entertaining spectacle.
00:14:12But Celtic looks sharper in the night, particularly first half.
00:14:15And they're running out of comfy winners.
00:14:17Here's a good question for you,
00:14:18which has just come out of my head there.
00:14:20And some people might think it's a rotten question,
00:14:21but I'll try my luck.
00:14:23If you were only allowed to sign one left-back
00:14:26from all the other Scottish teams for Celtic
00:14:29because they're looking for cover,
00:14:31who would you sign out of all the other clubs?
00:14:33Is there somebody in your mind, Ruffey,
00:14:38that you would think would be...
00:14:41For Celtic?
00:14:41Yeah.
00:14:41Probably Nicky Carden.
00:14:43Yeah.
00:14:43That's what I was thinking for a forward,
00:14:46you know, curling.
00:14:47Injury's a problem,
00:14:48but he's certainly the best crosser of the ball.
00:14:51Yep.
00:14:52Anybody that you can think of, Ruffey?
00:14:54No, Carden, obviously.
00:14:55I like the boy that St Myrne brought back in,
00:14:59Bacchus.
00:15:00I like him.
00:15:01Yeah, he's not a left-back,
00:15:02he's a midfielder.
00:15:03Yeah, no, but if he's got a left foot,
00:15:05Julie can put him there.
00:15:07Yeah, but he's right-footed.
00:15:08Rangers try to do that with Bailey Rice
00:15:09and have any work out to him.
00:15:10Yeah, absolutely.
00:15:11So, Ruffey can't think of anybody
00:15:12for that left-back.
00:15:14You mentioned Harry Mullen,
00:15:15who you raves about.
00:15:16Yes.
00:15:16Yeah, what about Harry?
00:15:17Yeah, he should have went there
00:15:19before he went to Harps.
00:15:20Yeah.
00:15:20I saw a lot of promise in him at Thistle.
00:15:22I couldn't believe the money
00:15:24that they let him go for.
00:15:25I thought it was a snip.
00:15:27So, Harry Mullen.
00:15:28Oh, definitely.
00:15:29Yeah.
00:15:29As a backup, off.
00:15:30Yeah.
00:15:31I think what we've got to do nowadays,
00:15:33as life goes on, Tam,
00:15:34is we've got to put the thought in his head
00:15:36and then he'll agree with us.
00:15:37Aye, aye.
00:15:37Is that fair?
00:15:37Yeah.
00:15:38He doesn't come up with anything yourself now.
00:15:39Yeah, he's right.
00:15:40His brain's turning much...
00:15:41He actually didn't give me much time.
00:15:43Yeah.
00:15:43Well, I'll be fair to you.
00:15:44Tons of time.
00:15:45I'll be fair to you, Ruffey.
00:15:46I did actually just...
00:15:46We'll come up with something else then.
00:15:47Yeah.
00:15:48We'll come up with an obvious one.
00:15:50I'll beat her.
00:15:51It happens.
00:15:51Yeah, exactly.
00:15:53I thought you might say that.
00:15:54Anyway, it's worth a shout.
00:15:56Can you think of somebody in Scotland
00:15:57who'd be worth a punt?
00:16:00Give us your thoughts on that.
00:16:01Celtic 4, Falkirk 1
00:16:03and it's Cairat Almaty up on the Wednesday.
00:16:06Give us your thoughts.
00:16:07What do you think?
00:16:08Will Celtic get a player in?
00:16:09Will Celtic have enough to get through that?
00:16:12And who gets it in the neck if they don't?
00:16:15Give us your thoughts.
00:16:16We think they'll get through.
00:16:18Now we move on.
00:16:19Rangers 4-2.
00:16:20It was a wee bit of a harem scarem moment
00:16:22when there was an equaliser, Ruffey,
00:16:24but in the end,
00:16:25and I don't know if you're noticing in the background,
00:16:28Russell Martin, with the help of the board,
00:16:30are effectively shunting out
00:16:32some of the people who are just not up to it.
00:16:34Jephty will be the latest one to say goodbye to them.
00:16:37Yilmaz, another shortly.
00:16:40They've managed to get in, I think,
00:16:43on a loan from Brentford.
00:16:44Rangers have managed to bring in a player,
00:16:47and I will just give you his name now,
00:16:48which is completely not Jadon,
00:16:50something or other,
00:16:52that's just come into my head, Tam,
00:16:54which is doing my nut.
00:16:55And yeah, there it's there.
00:16:56I've written it down.
00:16:57Jadon Magoma,
00:16:58on loan from Brentford,
00:16:59on a left-back role.
00:17:02So clearly,
00:17:03you know, they're starting to.
00:17:05You only have to look and see
00:17:06the type of player that they're getting rid of,
00:17:09that every one of us has been analysing
00:17:11and criticising,
00:17:12and fairly so over a period of time.
00:17:14I mean, Russell Martin,
00:17:14slowly but surely,
00:17:16is getting rid of the people
00:17:17that have caused the club
00:17:18so much pain over the last two or three years.
00:17:20Yeah, I think you can see him.
00:17:22He's trying to bring his own team in,
00:17:23his own players,
00:17:25and I think that ultimately
00:17:26he's going to be judged on
00:17:27when it is his own team.
00:17:29What rumours about Nico Raskin,
00:17:30who was excellent for Rangers last season?
00:17:32You know,
00:17:32he's been out of the team.
00:17:35You know,
00:17:35I wonder if Rangers
00:17:35will be looking for a big fee for him.
00:17:36So,
00:17:37yeah,
00:17:38I think he's got to be allowed time
00:17:39to bring his own players in.
00:17:40He's doing that.
00:17:42But they've got to put in better performances
00:17:43than they've done at the weekend,
00:17:44Peter.
00:17:44I thought, again,
00:17:45I thought they were poor against Alloa.
00:17:47And
00:17:4710 minutes to go,
00:17:493-2,
00:17:50they get the goal
00:17:50to make it 4-2
00:17:51to clinch it.
00:17:52but
00:17:52a real
00:17:53against slow performance,
00:17:55Peter,
00:17:56you know,
00:17:56in that final third,
00:17:57trying to walk the ball in at times,
00:17:58not doing any
00:17:59real tempo on the team.
00:18:00I think that's the two elements
00:18:02of the team
00:18:03that are
00:18:04the real problem for them.
00:18:06The one is the glaringly obvious one
00:18:08is the back line.
00:18:09The back line is not up to it.
00:18:11I mean,
00:18:11that back four,
00:18:12and I include all of them
00:18:14in that back four
00:18:15until they start to shut up shop.
00:18:17But that whole back four
00:18:19is not right.
00:18:20So there's your first element
00:18:21that needs to be sorted out.
00:18:23And the second one,
00:18:24Tom's just touched on,
00:18:25I think they're too slow enough.
00:18:27You know,
00:18:27they want the ball
00:18:28to take a touch
00:18:29to control it.
00:18:29There's very rarely
00:18:31you see them,
00:18:31you know,
00:18:32quick one pass move.
00:18:33It's, you know,
00:18:34put the team...
00:18:34One pace.
00:18:35Yeah, it really is at times.
00:18:36But Russell Martin came in
00:18:37and said it's going to be
00:18:38his style of play.
00:18:39That's the way he's going to do it.
00:18:40Now, I don't know if that's
00:18:41his style of play.
00:18:43Well, he's certainly not
00:18:44buying the players
00:18:44that ain't suit his style
00:18:45if they're not implementing
00:18:46what he's teaching them to do.
00:18:48I think the biggest problem
00:18:49for Rangers is,
00:18:50OK,
00:18:50Rangers were the same
00:18:51as Celtic the weekend.
00:18:53They had only four
00:18:53first-team players
00:18:54on the team.
00:18:55But the people who come in
00:18:57didn't affect the game at all.
00:18:59I mean,
00:18:59I'm sure at the end
00:19:00of the game
00:19:01he would be sitting there
00:19:02going,
00:19:03well,
00:19:03did any of them impress me
00:19:04that come on?
00:19:05And I thought the answer
00:19:06would be no.
00:19:07You know,
00:19:07so the problem he's got
00:19:08is he might have
00:19:09eventually got a right
00:19:10good 11 on the park,
00:19:12but what is coming on
00:19:14don't have the same effect
00:19:16as what the Celtic
00:19:17players that come on do.
00:19:19Well,
00:19:19I would,
00:19:20slightly disagree with you
00:19:21on the basis
00:19:22that this is a work
00:19:23in progress
00:19:24at Rangers.
00:19:26Brendan's is a tweak
00:19:27to try and increase
00:19:28the quality.
00:19:28There's a difference
00:19:29here in the game
00:19:30of the manager
00:19:32Russell Martin
00:19:32in the game
00:19:33that Brendan Rodgers
00:19:34is building a side
00:19:36and saying,
00:19:36I want three quality players
00:19:37because,
00:19:37you know,
00:19:38Celtic are going to be
00:19:39playing Champions League
00:19:40football at group stages,
00:19:41so he knows
00:19:42that jumping level,
00:19:44so he wants
00:19:44that level of player.
00:19:46Russell Martin
00:19:47wants a team
00:19:48that can beat
00:19:48all the other clubs
00:19:50other than Celtic
00:19:51to prove that
00:19:51they're in a title race
00:19:53which they haven't
00:19:54been able to do
00:19:55at the moment,
00:19:55Tam,
00:19:56and secondary to that,
00:19:57you look,
00:19:57Bayrami scored a great
00:19:58goal at the weekend,
00:19:59an absolute peach.
00:20:01You've got the boy
00:20:01Mikey Moore
00:20:02who's desperately hoping
00:20:03for 17 years of age
00:20:04he's got a point
00:20:05to prove up here,
00:20:06can really start
00:20:08to put himself
00:20:08at the forefront
00:20:09of Spurs' mind
00:20:11when he's on loan here
00:20:13and Finlay Curtis,
00:20:15Emmanuel Fernandes
00:20:16gets his first goal,
00:20:17so I think Russell Martin,
00:20:19while there is
00:20:19this kind of
00:20:20a background noise
00:20:21of unrest,
00:20:24there is
00:20:24positivities
00:20:25that the manager
00:20:25are looking,
00:20:26okay,
00:20:26you're okay,
00:20:28you're for the future,
00:20:29this is good,
00:20:30we've got past them,
00:20:31we now know
00:20:32what's coming
00:20:32in the next round,
00:20:33you know what I mean,
00:20:34it's Hibs
00:20:35in the next round,
00:20:36so he's slowly
00:20:38but surely
00:20:38on the run
00:20:40and trying to
00:20:41block out the noise,
00:20:42he's slowly
00:20:42but surely
00:20:42seeing some positives.
00:20:44Yeah he is,
00:20:45but I'm not sure
00:20:46the range of supporters
00:20:47are Peter,
00:20:47that's the problem,
00:20:48you know,
00:20:48Russell Martin...
00:20:49Well it's 4-2,
00:20:50they're through,
00:20:50what's the problem?
00:20:51They are through,
00:20:51but it wasn't a good
00:20:52performance,
00:20:53Peter again,
00:20:53they've lost two goals
00:20:54at home to Alava,
00:20:55no disrespect to them,
00:20:56you know,
00:20:57they're losing goals,
00:20:57they're losing chances,
00:20:58they're ropey at the back,
00:21:00I think they're very,
00:21:02very slow in their build-up
00:21:04to go and open up teams
00:21:05as well,
00:21:05so I haven't been
00:21:07really impressed with them
00:21:07and listen,
00:21:08the acid test is coming
00:21:09tomorrow night,
00:21:10this will be the best
00:21:11club they've played
00:21:12against so far,
00:21:13Club Brouge,
00:21:13they've got a two-legged
00:21:14game against Aime,
00:21:15they've got a game
00:21:15away at St Myrne,
00:21:17you know,
00:21:17they've got a cup tie
00:21:18at home to Hibs,
00:21:19they've got Celtic
00:21:20at home on the horizon,
00:21:20they've got Hartzell home,
00:21:21they've got a real
00:21:22tough run of games
00:21:23and that's all before
00:21:24the window closes,
00:21:25so I think the Rangers
00:21:27are obviously one,
00:21:28the most important thing
00:21:29is getting through
00:21:29but I think the Rangers
00:21:30supporters will be
00:21:30looking at the team
00:21:31and going,
00:21:31we need to be better
00:21:33than we're shown.
00:21:34Well I think you're right,
00:21:35this is a huge test
00:21:36and Alison McConnell
00:21:37was out there today
00:21:38to get the thoughts
00:21:39of Russell Martin
00:21:41at Ibrox ahead of the
00:21:42game against Club Brouge.
00:21:44Russell Martin was in
00:21:45relaxed mood as he
00:21:47faced the media here
00:21:48this afternoon prior
00:21:49to tomorrow night's
00:21:50massive Champions League
00:21:51play-off tie against
00:21:53Club Brouge at Ibrox.
00:21:54He's told his players
00:21:56they need to embrace
00:21:56the pressure,
00:21:57find the joy of
00:21:58playing for Rangers
00:21:59and enjoy the challenge
00:22:01that comes with
00:22:01pleasing a very
00:22:02demanding crowd.
00:22:03They've felt those
00:22:04demands across
00:22:05recent games,
00:22:06dropped points to
00:22:07Motherwell,
00:22:08dropped points to
00:22:08Dundee and a fairly
00:22:10chaotic defensive
00:22:11performance against
00:22:12Aloha in the Premier
00:22:13Sports Cup at the
00:22:14weekend so it's not
00:22:15been entirely convincing
00:22:16however Martin has
00:22:18insisted that he needs
00:22:19time to get it right
00:22:20here at Ibrox.
00:22:21Whether or not he
00:22:22gets that time
00:22:23remains to be seen
00:22:24but certainly a big
00:22:25part of buying that
00:22:26would come with
00:22:27qualification to the
00:22:28Champions League
00:22:29and the riches that
00:22:30that would bring.
00:22:31Cyril Dessers is
00:22:32touch and go for that
00:22:33one whether or not he
00:22:34makes an appearance
00:22:35tomorrow at night at
00:22:36some point remains to
00:22:37be seen however what
00:22:39he did say was that
00:22:40Nico Raskin will most
00:22:41certainly be in the
00:22:42squad for this clash
00:22:43against Bruges.
00:22:45Yeah no he's been
00:22:45really good so we
00:22:47analysed his clips
00:22:47me and him together
00:22:48from Tuesday so yeah
00:22:51no I've not heard
00:22:52anything up not at all
00:22:53so he's been he's
00:22:54been brilliant and I'm
00:22:55pretty sure Kevin and
00:22:56Patrick and the gang
00:22:57would have told me if
00:22:58we'd had heard that
00:22:59sooner.
00:23:00I think he's got better
00:23:01and better I think he'll
00:23:02get better and better
00:23:03he was only not in the
00:23:04squad on Saturday for a
00:23:06rest he picked up a kick
00:23:07on on Tuesday but he's
00:23:08trained really well and I
00:23:11think yeah I think we he's
00:23:13going to be a big player
00:23:14for us I said that from
00:23:14the beginning but I also
00:23:16said obviously it's been a
00:23:17difficult summer for him
00:23:18and all that but I've
00:23:18really the last few weeks
00:23:20I've loved the energy that
00:23:21Nico's brought and he's
00:23:23going to be really
00:23:23important for us.
00:23:24Jadon Meghoma will also
00:23:26be in the squad for
00:23:27tomorrow night's game
00:23:28after the left back
00:23:28arrived from Brentford
00:23:30he's going straight in as
00:23:32a wild card after being
00:23:33added to the squad list
00:23:35and Martin has said that
00:23:36although Rangers faced
00:23:38Club Bruges earlier in
00:23:39the season as part of the
00:23:40pre-season preparations
00:23:42that he doesn't anticipate
00:23:42that there will be too
00:23:44many similarities between
00:23:45those games tomorrow night
00:23:47he spoke of the fact that
00:23:48both squads already look
00:23:49very different to what
00:23:51they did back in July and
00:23:52also stressed that the
00:23:53atmosphere and the
00:23:54tension particularly with
00:23:55what's at stake will also
00:23:57be very different so
00:23:58interesting to see how
00:23:59this one goes tomorrow
00:24:01evening here at Ibrox
00:24:02that's a massive test for
00:24:04Russell Martin interesting
00:24:05to see how he comes
00:24:06through this one.
00:24:08Yeah Alison out there at
00:24:10Ibrox six wins out of
00:24:11seven for Bruges sitting
00:24:13nicely in third place in
00:24:15the Belgian league and
00:24:17certainly on the evidence
00:24:18of what they produced last
00:24:19year I thought they were a
00:24:20tidy side played really
00:24:21quick and at times at
00:24:23Celtic Park I think the
00:24:24Celtic fans acknowledged
00:24:25how good a side they were.
00:24:27Yeah I think they were a
00:24:28really impressive team
00:24:29Peter I thought they were
00:24:30probably the best team I'd
00:24:31seen at Parkour last
00:24:32season in a one-inch draw
00:24:33I think Celtic scored late
00:24:34to get a point out of the
00:24:36game but I thought Bruges
00:24:37were superb and they had a
00:24:39couple of great results
00:24:40I think they beat Atlanta
00:24:41last season as well so I
00:24:42think they're a huge step
00:24:44up from the calibre of
00:24:45teams that Rangers have
00:24:45been playing.
00:24:46Panathinaikos, Victoria
00:24:47Pilsen.
00:24:48I think Club Bruges are an
00:24:49established Champions League
00:24:50team.
00:24:50You've seen them in the
00:24:51group stages often.
00:24:53I think they got pipped
00:24:54obviously to the league
00:24:55last season with USG but
00:24:57I think they'll come and
00:24:59be favourites.
00:25:00I'm surprised that they're
00:25:01not favourites in this
00:25:02game.
00:25:02I think Rangers are slight
00:25:03favourites with the
00:25:04bookies but I think over the
00:25:05two legs they'll have too
00:25:06much for Rangers.
00:25:07Yeah Ruffey you want to
00:25:10look for the positives and
00:25:11the positives are quite
00:25:12simply that Rangers have to
00:25:15I think take one possible
00:25:18I think they need two goals
00:25:20of a lead to go over to
00:25:22Belgium.
00:25:22I mean this is Bruce who
00:25:23knocked out Salzburg in the
00:25:25last round as well so I
00:25:28think he needs a really big
00:25:29night at Ibrox.
00:25:30The crowd roaring them on
00:25:31got to keep it tight and
00:25:33they'll know that they're
00:25:34going to have to play the
00:25:35ball quickly because I
00:25:36think they'll be closed
00:25:37down very quickly if they
00:25:38don't get their act
00:25:38together.
00:25:39I think the most important
00:25:40thing is scoring the first
00:25:41goal.
00:25:42I think if they score the
00:25:43first goal it'll get
00:25:44everybody off their seats
00:25:45to keep the momentum
00:25:47going in the stadium.
00:25:48They lose the first goal
00:25:49we saw what kind of
00:25:50reaction some of the
00:25:52Rangers players have when
00:25:53they go behind when the
00:25:54fans are 100% behind
00:25:56them.
00:25:57It's a hard watch so I
00:25:59think getting the first
00:26:00goal would help them on
00:26:02their way.
00:26:03Like you I don't think
00:26:04one goal will be enough
00:26:05I think they've got goals
00:26:07in them at home so I'd
00:26:09like to see them win
00:26:10and there's no doubt
00:26:10about that but I can see
00:26:13a draw but I can't see
00:26:14a win.
00:26:14Yeah Paul says Celtic
00:26:16done well to get the
00:26:17draw with Bruges.
00:26:19They were a good side
00:26:20and there's no doubt
00:26:21about it.
00:26:22Can Russell Martin
00:26:23somehow not only work
00:26:24out the way they're
00:26:25going to play but get
00:26:27his side to step up to
00:26:28the plate?
00:26:28There are still worries
00:26:29there from what they
00:26:30produced against Alawa
00:26:32as well and when you
00:26:33look at the start of the
00:26:34season it hasn't been
00:26:36enthralling for the
00:26:37Rangers supporters
00:26:38and certainly looking at
00:26:39it and waiting for some
00:26:40of the bits of the
00:26:41jigsaw to click and
00:26:42he's still got a few
00:26:43players that he'll want
00:26:44to bring in as well
00:26:46but this is a massive
00:26:47one and I think
00:26:49financially the
00:26:49implications are massive
00:26:51because when you're
00:26:53going through a
00:26:54building process of
00:26:55trying to get certain
00:26:56players in it's a
00:26:58different conversation
00:26:59that Russell Martin
00:27:00has with the Rangers
00:27:01board if suddenly they
00:27:03say by the way we've
00:27:04knocked Bruges out
00:27:05we're in the group
00:27:06stages of the
00:27:06Champions League.
00:27:07suddenly they can say
00:27:08here's an extra
00:27:0910 million or here's
00:27:11an extra something.
00:27:13Yeah, no absolutely
00:27:13Peter, I think they'll
00:27:14possibly have two lists
00:27:15one if they get in the
00:27:16Champions League and the
00:27:17quality of players that
00:27:18they could maybe go for
00:27:18and then one for the
00:27:20Europa League if Bruges
00:27:21knocked them out so I
00:27:23think if you're right in
00:27:24the early stages of
00:27:25Rangers rebuild under the
00:27:27new owners I think if
00:27:27they can get in the
00:27:29Champions League get that
00:27:29money it happens faster
00:27:31you get closer to Celtic
00:27:33faster.
00:27:34If you don't then you're
00:27:35in a different market
00:27:36for players you're no
00:27:37banking that money so
00:27:38as I said you never
00:27:40bet against Rangers in
00:27:42European football but
00:27:42what I've seen so far
00:27:44of Rangers in Europe
00:27:44and domestically I'd be
00:27:46pretty surprised if they
00:27:47put out a club of
00:27:48Bruges calibre over two
00:27:50legs.
00:27:50Ruffy, give us your
00:27:52prediction on both of
00:27:53them then because it's
00:27:55Rangers against Bruges
00:27:57first of all and then
00:27:58I'll get your Celtic
00:27:59Kaira Almaty.
00:28:01Yeah, I think it's
00:28:02important Rangers win
00:28:04this game tomorrow night
00:28:05they've got to take
00:28:06something to Bruges
00:28:07they've got to put them
00:28:08on the back foot a wee
00:28:09bit and hopefully they
00:28:10can keep them at bay for
00:28:12maybe 40 minutes
00:28:13something like that so
00:28:14their fans don't get on
00:28:15top of them but you've
00:28:16got to expect the way
00:28:17Rangers are defensing
00:28:18the way just now they're
00:28:20going to lose a goal
00:28:20so I think it's important
00:28:23if they are going to go
00:28:24through it has to be two
00:28:25goal lead.
00:28:26Two goal lead and what's
00:28:27your prediction?
00:28:28One each.
00:28:29Yep, I think one each.
00:28:30Tam?
00:28:31I'll go for 2-1 to
00:28:32Bruges tomorrow.
00:28:33Okay, give us your
00:28:34thoughts on it.
00:28:35Give us your prediction
00:28:36as well.
00:28:37We'd love to hear from
00:28:38you.

00:29:24coming up.
00:29:25So, that's all to look
00:29:27forward to.
00:29:28We've discussed Celtic and
00:29:29Rangers.
00:29:29Kairat Almaty, Ruffy, what
00:29:30are you going for?
00:29:31Well, they got beat at the
00:29:32weekend, 3-2.
00:29:34That's encouraging for
00:29:35Celtic.
00:29:36We'll have to wait and see
00:29:37the quality that comes.
00:29:39I would like to think that
00:29:40Celtic could take maybe a
00:29:41three-goal advantage over
00:29:42there.
00:29:443-0?
00:29:45Yeah, I think so.
00:29:45They've proved at home
00:29:46going forward.
00:29:48They're very difficult to
00:29:50stem and I would like to
00:29:51think they could do that.
00:29:52Okay.
00:29:54Celtic comfortable as
00:29:55well.
00:29:55I think they're a
00:29:56different level from
00:29:57Kairat.
00:29:57Yeah, I'll go for 3-0 as
00:29:58well with Celtic.
00:29:59Okay, I'll go too.
00:30:01Give us your thoughts on
00:30:02that as well.
00:30:03Elsewhere in the Premier
00:30:04Sports Cup, before we look
00:30:05at the draw, just a quick
00:30:06reflection on some of
00:30:08those games.
00:30:09Aberdeen, Nielsen,
00:30:10Yenge and I'll tell you
00:30:11what, Clarsson's flick for
00:30:14his goal was just Gallus.
00:30:16It was brilliant and in the
00:30:17end they won comfortably
00:30:18against Morton.
00:30:19Yeah, I think they need
00:30:19that, Peter.
00:30:20I think they've had a
00:30:20tough start to the season.
00:30:22Obviously finishing last
00:30:23season on such a high
00:30:24when the Scottish Cup
00:30:25the expectations were
00:30:26really high this season
00:30:26with Jimmy Tallinn.
00:30:27Spent a lot of money.
00:30:29You know, they've
00:30:29signed, you know, they've
00:30:30spent a lot of money,
00:30:31a couple of million
00:30:32quid they've spent and
00:30:33that's big money for a
00:30:34club the size of Aberdeen.
00:30:35So, David Cormack has put the
00:30:41money in and you need to see
00:30:44results for that.
00:30:45So, it was a comfortable
00:30:46win.
00:30:47Yenge gets the goal as well,
00:30:48Peter.
00:30:48I think he was written off.
00:30:49He's lethal for a yard.
00:30:50Yeah, I think he's been
00:30:50written off pretty quickly
00:30:52with a lot of people after
00:30:52two games.
00:30:54Did you not write him off
00:30:55last week?
00:30:55Yeah, I thought he'd been
00:30:57poor the first two.
00:30:57I don't think he's rotten,
00:30:59but I think he has been
00:31:00crap in the first two games.
00:31:01But like any striker, that
00:31:03goal will give him
00:31:03confidence and you'd like to
00:31:04see him going and scoring
00:31:05a few more for Aberdeen.
00:31:06But comfortable victory
00:31:08in a place which can be
00:31:10tricky.
00:31:11I said it at the weekend,
00:31:12it can be tricky in
00:31:12December and January
00:31:13in the capital.
00:31:14You know, pissing the rain
00:31:15and a wet park.
00:31:17But summer, nice surface.
00:31:19Aberdeen would do
00:31:20and they enjoyed it
00:31:20and won comfortably.
00:31:22Ruffy?
00:31:22Yeah, I think so.
00:31:23I'm surprised the wee boy
00:31:24Clarkson hasn't played
00:31:25more.
00:31:26I think he's a wonderful
00:31:27wee player.
00:31:28I think he's got great
00:31:28technique.
00:31:30Again, you know, I think
00:31:31it was last year he scored
00:31:32on an absolute screamer
00:31:33top corner for a free
00:31:34kick.
00:31:35So he's got it in him.
00:31:36He uses the confidence.
00:31:38I think he'll get more
00:31:39game time now after that
00:31:40performance that he had.
00:31:41But Aberdeen needed to
00:31:42win that.
00:31:43They needed to win it
00:31:44because of some of the
00:31:44results they'd had.
00:31:45Yeah, OK.
00:31:46And I'll tell you, we need
00:31:48every team in European
00:31:50football.
00:31:51I'm really rooting for
00:31:52Aberdeen and Hibbs as well.
00:31:55But they've got FCSB.
00:31:56I love the way they
00:31:57abbreviate their names.
00:31:58Just call them Stour-Bucarrest
00:32:00and give us peace, will you?
00:32:03Europa League.
00:32:04Desperately hope the
00:32:05Dons can do it.
00:32:06Well, fortunately, it's
00:32:07not that Stour-Bucarrest
00:32:08was a long time ago when
00:32:10they won the European Cup.
00:32:11I love the fact that
00:32:13you're just looking at it
00:32:14as a start, Ruffy.
00:32:15Did you see that
00:32:15Stour-Bucarrest team?
00:32:17Not the team.
00:32:18They won one nothing,
00:32:19didn't they?
00:32:19Barcelona beat in the
00:32:20final.
00:32:20They won in a penalty
00:32:21shootout.
00:32:22They would bore the
00:32:22arse off you.
00:32:23They were the worst
00:32:24team to win the
00:32:24Europe.
00:32:24Did they beat?
00:32:25Barcelona.
00:32:26With, I think,
00:32:28Steve Archibald was in
00:32:29the side.
00:32:301987, if my memory
00:32:32says.
00:32:32Who was their big
00:32:33striker?
00:32:34Their main striker.
00:32:35Big name.
00:32:36For Stour-Bucarrest?
00:32:37I can't remember,
00:32:38Ruffy.
00:32:39Lacketis?
00:32:40No.
00:32:40You're just pulling
00:32:41out any Romanian
00:32:42that you remember.
00:32:43Batch of Warnley,
00:32:44Batch.
00:32:45No.
00:32:47I was trying a
00:32:47Gordon Smith on you.
00:32:49By the way, they did
00:32:51have a star player.
00:32:52Yeah, they did.
00:32:54I'm trying to think
00:32:55who it was.
00:32:55Would it have been
00:32:56Prozenechi?
00:32:58No.
00:32:58I'm not sure, but
00:32:59I'll tell you one
00:33:00thing.
00:33:00It was a
00:33:00Richovic.
00:33:01He played for
00:33:02a great star.
00:33:03He was a good
00:33:03player.
00:33:04But in the end,
00:33:06Ruffy, I thought,
00:33:07you know, listen,
00:33:09we're against Aberdeen
00:33:10and you're right,
00:33:10it's not the same
00:33:11quality that gets
00:33:12the European Cup.
00:33:13No, but this is a
00:33:14year when, obviously,
00:33:15Tam's already touched
00:33:16on it.
00:33:17They've brought in a
00:33:17lot of quality.
00:33:19They've spent a lot
00:33:19of money.
00:33:20The disappointment
00:33:20every year in Europe,
00:33:23year on year,
00:33:24has been basically
00:33:25them getting beat
00:33:26with lesser teams.
00:33:27You would think
00:33:28this year they'd
00:33:28learnt the lesson,
00:33:29you know, of
00:33:30European style of
00:33:30football and hope
00:33:32that they can get
00:33:33a result to get
00:33:33through because,
00:33:34as you say,
00:33:34we need every one
00:33:35of them.
00:33:35Do you fancy
00:33:36them?
00:33:40It's a hard one,
00:33:40you know, I think
00:33:41it's going to be
00:33:41really, really tight.
00:33:42Really tight.
00:33:44Yeah.
00:33:44I do fancy them,
00:33:45Peter, I think they
00:33:45could have got a
00:33:46harder draw than
00:33:46that.
00:33:47I think Hearts
00:33:48will be kicking
00:33:48themselves a couple
00:33:49of seasons ago,
00:33:50they had a real
00:33:50opportunity to get
00:33:51into the Europa
00:33:51League and it's
00:33:53not really a no-lose
00:33:54game but you're
00:33:54guaranteed the
00:33:55Conference League
00:33:55group stages so
00:33:56you can go and
00:33:56have a real go
00:33:57and Starry
00:33:59Bucharest will be a
00:34:00decent team
00:34:00technically but I
00:34:02think if Aberdeen
00:34:02played their
00:34:03potential they can
00:34:03get through that,
00:34:04time.
00:34:05Yeah, I'm just
00:34:05looking here to
00:34:06try and get the
00:34:07names.
00:34:08So the Starry
00:34:09Bucharest side from
00:34:101987, 86 was the
00:34:13final against
00:34:13Barcelona.
00:34:14I was a year out,
00:34:15sorry for that and
00:34:16I'm giving you my
00:34:18full apologies,
00:34:19Lakatush is in
00:34:20there.
00:34:21Tom, I'm giving
00:34:22you my full.
00:34:22There you go.
00:34:23Yeah, absolutely.
00:34:25Was he the man?
00:34:27Yeah.
00:34:28Do you know
00:34:28what, Tom?
00:34:28I'm going to bow to
00:34:30your knowledge there
00:34:31of that and offer
00:34:32you my full apologies,
00:34:33Lakatush is the
00:34:34star man in that
00:34:36side.
00:34:36Jordan Escu, come
00:34:37on, he was another
00:34:39well-known Romanian
00:34:39player but honestly
00:34:40that means Steve
00:34:43Archibald was playing
00:34:44for the side that had
00:34:45Bernd Schuster in it
00:34:46as well and they had
00:34:49a really good team but
00:34:50unfortunately couldn't
00:34:51get past them,
00:34:52ended up going to a
00:34:53penalty shootout,
00:34:54Stoia Bucharest won
00:34:55it.
00:34:56Aberdeen, are you
00:34:57fancying them to win
00:34:58it?
00:34:58Yeah, I'm going to
00:34:58stick with them.
00:34:59I'm going to stick
00:35:01with them to get a
00:35:01narrow lead, 1-0.
00:35:03Aye?
00:35:03Yeah.
00:35:04I think they won.
00:35:04I'll go for 2-1.
00:35:052-1, yeah.
00:35:06If you're a Don's
00:35:07fan, what do you
00:35:09make of it?
00:35:10Yeah, thanks
00:35:10Roderick who says
00:35:111986, Stoia won it.
00:35:13Yeah, 1986,
00:35:14absolutely unbelievable
00:35:16and the other thing I
00:35:18was going to say is
00:35:20that, you know,
00:35:21somebody says,
00:35:22Peter, you're going
00:35:23to give a mention
00:35:23to our southern
00:35:24friends at Newcastle
00:35:26and Sunderland.
00:35:28I'm not quite sure
00:35:28what that's all about
00:35:29by the way.
00:35:30We do mention every
00:35:31team in this football
00:35:32show, believe me.
00:35:34Aberdeen, we want to
00:35:35get them through,
00:35:36hopefully against
00:35:37Bucharest.
00:35:38Give us your
00:35:38thoughts on that.
00:35:39Are we going to
00:35:40have four teams in
00:35:40European competition?
00:35:42I'll tell you one
00:35:42thing, I know I keep
00:35:43battering on about
00:35:43the money, Ruffy.
00:35:44Wouldn't it be great
00:35:45if they got that
00:35:455, 6, 7, 8
00:35:48million extra?
00:35:49Yeah, well what
00:35:50happened?
00:35:50I mean, football
00:35:51teams at the
00:35:52beginning of the
00:35:52season are going to
00:35:53have a meeting and
00:35:53they talk about
00:35:54budgets and the
00:35:55manager is always
00:35:56saying,
00:35:56what are you giving
00:35:57me?
00:35:57And they obviously
00:35:57say, well if you do
00:35:58particularly well
00:35:59we'll get you a wee
00:35:59bit extra.
00:36:00So he knows at the
00:36:01end of the day if
00:36:02he's got the
00:36:02loyalty between the
00:36:04people who own the
00:36:05club, if he does
00:36:06well he can go and
00:36:07sharp the door and
00:36:08say, here I've
00:36:09produced the goods
00:36:10for you, what are
00:36:10you giving me?
00:36:12Okay, we'll talk
00:36:13about Hibs in Europe
00:36:14in a moment.
00:36:15Party Thistle 2
00:36:15here, United 0.
00:36:16Ruffy, you're
00:36:17a great result.
00:36:18The only downside
00:36:19for me was it was
00:36:20a drawing to play
00:36:22at home, which
00:36:23revenue I would like
00:36:24to think at this
00:36:25moment in time.
00:36:25I don't think
00:36:26Partick Thistle
00:36:27would expect to
00:36:27beat Celtic, but
00:36:28if you can go into
00:36:29that game and
00:36:29maybe come out
00:36:30with maybe 100,000
00:36:32if it had been at
00:36:32Parkhead, it would
00:36:34have been 100,000.
00:36:35I don't know how
00:36:36they're going to carve
00:36:37it up with the crowd
00:36:38because Celtic
00:36:39supporters will want
00:36:40to go there, but
00:36:41so will the Thistle
00:36:41supporters as well.
00:36:43I hope it's a full
00:36:44house and I'm sure
00:36:45Thistle will give a
00:36:46good account of
00:36:47themselves.
00:36:47And a wee bit
00:36:48wide of Tony Watt
00:36:49trying to claim the
00:36:49goal when Chalmers
00:36:50hits it, I think
00:36:51he'll come off his
00:36:51back ankle.
00:36:53As a striker, Pete,
00:36:54you try and claim
00:36:54Everton, I've done
00:36:55that myself.
00:36:56He said it was a
00:36:58back heel volley.
00:37:00He's trying to claim
00:37:01it, but just judging
00:37:02on the highlights,
00:37:03Thistle looked well
00:37:04on top in that
00:37:05game.
00:37:06I think they've got
00:37:06a few injuries and
00:37:08they're struggling a
00:37:08wee bit at the
00:37:09minute, but as
00:37:10Ruffie said, great
00:37:11tie for them
00:37:11financially.
00:37:12Partick Thistle,
00:37:12well documented,
00:37:13struggling a wee bit
00:37:14financially this
00:37:15season.
00:37:16It'll be interesting
00:37:17to see if they look
00:37:17after their own
00:37:18fans or they bow to
00:37:20the green and
00:37:21white pound and
00:37:23give Celtic the
00:37:24majority of the
00:37:25stadium.
00:37:25I'll tell you
00:37:26what they do,
00:37:26they give Celtic
00:37:27the majority of the
00:37:27stadium.
00:37:28You need to be
00:37:28off your nut not
00:37:29to.
00:37:30Come on,
00:37:30Ruffie.
00:37:31Next season tickets,
00:37:32you're talking
00:37:32about 2,500.
00:37:33Are you kidding
00:37:33me?
00:37:34This is a club
00:37:34that needs money.
00:37:35I mean,
00:37:35you give Celtic
00:37:36fans three sides
00:37:37and you take all
00:37:39the money.
00:37:39Are you daft?
00:37:39I think there
00:37:40might be a bit
00:37:40of health and
00:37:41safety with the
00:37:42old stand and
00:37:42I think the
00:37:42police will be
00:37:44the ones that
00:37:44decide because
00:37:45they don't like
00:37:45segregation.
00:37:47There's not
00:37:47enough room in
00:37:48that stand to
00:37:49segregate two
00:37:50sets of
00:37:51supporters.
00:37:51What would you
00:37:51do if you were
00:37:52on the board
00:37:52again like a
00:37:53yo-yo?
00:37:53Remember those
00:37:53days?
00:37:54I'd give
00:37:54them a season
00:37:55ticket.
00:37:56First choice.
00:37:56I wouldn't
00:37:57have wanted to
00:37:57move them out
00:37:58of their seat.
00:37:59They're the ones
00:37:59that have been
00:38:00loyal.
00:38:01Okay.
00:38:03What would
00:38:04you do,
00:38:04Tam?
00:38:06I'd take the
00:38:07money.
00:38:07Yeah,
00:38:08absolutely.
00:38:08I don't think
00:38:09there's any
00:38:09hope in hell
00:38:09that's
00:38:10half of
00:38:10this will
00:38:10beat Celtic
00:38:11so take as
00:38:12much money as
00:38:13you can and
00:38:13use it to try
00:38:14and come up
00:38:14this season.
00:38:15Faddinger scored
00:38:16for Motherwell
00:38:16they knocked
00:38:17out St.
00:38:17Johnson.
00:38:17It took
00:38:18extra time
00:38:18though,
00:38:19Tam.
00:38:19Yeah,
00:38:19extra time.
00:38:20Motherwell might
00:38:21have been out
00:38:21if it went
00:38:21straight to
00:38:22penalties.
00:38:23So,
00:38:24well done
00:38:25extra time
00:38:25for Motherwell.
00:38:26Yeah,
00:38:26absolutely.
00:38:27I don't give
00:38:28out.
00:38:29Motherwell
00:38:29does have
00:38:30to win.
00:38:30It could
00:38:31have went
00:38:31near it.
00:38:32I mean,
00:38:32the boy
00:38:32Holt should
00:38:33have buried
00:38:33it.
00:38:34The ball
00:38:34had come
00:38:35across it.
00:38:36So,
00:38:36Johnson had
00:38:37chances more
00:38:38than they
00:38:39thought they
00:38:39would have
00:38:39got but
00:38:40the game
00:38:40just swung
00:38:41back forward.
00:38:42By the way,
00:38:42can I just
00:38:43say,
00:38:43I know people
00:38:43are going
00:38:44to give
00:38:44me a
00:38:44tight because
00:38:45I'm
00:38:45saying
00:38:45extra time
00:38:46but I
00:38:47was up
00:38:47at
00:38:48Tanadice
00:38:48on Thursday
00:38:49night and
00:38:50it goes
00:38:50to extra
00:38:51time and
00:38:52I'm thinking
00:38:52oh come
00:38:53on.
00:38:54Is it
00:38:54up and
00:38:54down the
00:38:54road?
00:38:55Well,
00:38:56the point
00:38:57I was
00:38:57saying was
00:38:58you've
00:38:59played 90
00:38:59minutes in
00:39:00the away
00:39:01ground for
00:39:02Dundee
00:39:03United and
00:39:04they're now
00:39:04subjected to
00:39:05playing 90
00:39:05minutes in
00:39:06Dundee
00:39:07United's
00:39:07ground.
00:39:08So,
00:39:08that's fair.
00:39:09You go
00:39:10straight to
00:39:10penalties.
00:39:11If the two
00:39:11you can't
00:39:12beat each
00:39:12other in
00:39:12the 90
00:39:13minutes within
00:39:14the regulated
00:39:14time at
00:39:15each ground,
00:39:16don't give
00:39:16anybody the
00:39:17advantage of
00:39:18going to
00:39:18all the
00:39:19United fans
00:39:20going,
00:39:20woo,
00:39:20not that it
00:39:20mattered because
00:39:21it didn't
00:39:21really matter
00:39:22anyway.
00:39:22But I
00:39:23would go
00:39:24straight to
00:39:24penalties and
00:39:25say,
00:39:25right,
00:39:25you've
00:39:25played your
00:39:2690 minutes,
00:39:27home and
00:39:27away,
00:39:28straight to
00:39:29penalties,
00:39:30bish bash.
00:39:30Would you
00:39:31not just
00:39:31after the
00:39:3290 minutes,
00:39:32if it was
00:39:33still a tie
00:39:33in the
00:39:33second leg,
00:39:34Peter,
00:39:34would you
00:39:34not just
00:39:34say,
00:39:35right,
00:39:35that's the
00:39:35game finished
00:39:36and you
00:39:36play the
00:39:36next 30
00:39:37minutes in
00:39:37Switzerland
00:39:37to the
00:39:38neutral
00:39:38venue?
00:39:39Right,
00:39:39now you're
00:39:40just ripping
00:39:40the arse out
00:39:41of it.
00:39:41What about,
00:39:42I don't know
00:39:43if you know,
00:39:43me and
00:39:43Tam played in
00:39:44America.
00:39:45Yeah,
00:39:46I'd heard that.
00:39:46I didn't
00:39:49take part
00:39:50in them,
00:39:50but I've
00:39:50seen them.
00:39:51I thought
00:39:51that's good.
00:39:53The
00:39:54penalty kick's
00:39:55too easy.
00:39:57That'd be
00:39:57brilliant for you.
00:39:58The excitement
00:39:58of somebody
00:39:59coming for the
00:40:00halfway line
00:40:00and having to
00:40:01get to the
00:40:0218-yard line
00:40:02before he
00:40:03shoots.
00:40:03Can I tell you
00:40:04something though,
00:40:04Ruffy,
00:40:05can I ask you
00:40:05this,
00:40:05and again,
00:40:06we just
00:40:06slightly digress,
00:40:07but I think
00:40:07it's a good
00:40:08point you make.
00:40:09If it was
00:40:10me with that
00:40:12situation,
00:40:13I would run
00:40:14as fast as I
00:40:15could,
00:40:15because I know
00:40:15the goalkeeper
00:40:16then his
00:40:17objective is
00:40:18to come out
00:40:19and narrow
00:40:19the angles
00:40:20for you.
00:40:21Then at that
00:40:21point,
00:40:22Ruffy,
00:40:22I would flick
00:40:22the ball up
00:40:23and just
00:40:23launch it
00:40:23over his
00:40:24head.
00:40:25Did that
00:40:25happen?
00:40:26I suppose
00:40:27it did,
00:40:27but you've
00:40:27got to have
00:40:28the confidence
00:40:28of your
00:40:28ability to
00:40:29do it.
00:40:30And remember
00:40:30the organs
00:40:31playing in
00:40:31the background.
00:40:32Ah,
00:40:32yeah,
00:40:32the organs
00:40:33are dead.
00:40:33Well,
00:40:33you're dead.
00:40:35Dead,
00:40:35dead,
00:40:35dead,
00:40:36dead,
00:40:36dead.
00:40:36It just keeps
00:40:38going faster.
00:40:39Yeah,
00:40:40I didn't know
00:40:40that bit,
00:40:40Ruffy.
00:40:41Yeah,
00:40:42but listen,
00:40:43I don't
00:40:43fancy the
00:40:46confident
00:40:46enough if
00:40:47you were
00:40:47there and
00:40:49you're
00:40:49playing for
00:40:49your team,
00:40:50male or
00:40:51female,
00:40:52it doesn't
00:40:53matter what
00:40:54gender of
00:40:55football it
00:40:56is,
00:40:56could you
00:40:57run from
00:40:57the halfway
00:40:58line with
00:40:59the old
00:40:59piano and
00:41:00the organ
00:41:01going and
00:41:01the clock,
00:41:02the fans
00:41:03cheering in
00:41:03the background,
00:41:04could you
00:41:04hold your
00:41:04nerve and
00:41:05beat the
00:41:06goalie in
00:41:06that?
00:41:06Would you
00:41:07prefer that?
00:41:07Do you think
00:41:07that's more
00:41:08exciting?
00:41:09A wee bit
00:41:09of American
00:41:10razzmatazz,
00:41:11as Ruffy has
00:41:12mentioned.
00:41:13I'm not too
00:41:13sure.
00:41:14Anyway,
00:41:14straight from
00:41:15extra time
00:41:15at
00:41:16Taradise,
00:41:16I go to
00:41:17St Mirren's
00:41:17ground and
00:41:18we're on to
00:41:19extra time
00:41:20again.
00:41:21It was
00:41:21probably just
00:41:22two games
00:41:22where I
00:41:22looked at
00:41:23and I
00:41:23thought,
00:41:23you know,
00:41:24just go to
00:41:25penalties,
00:41:25what's the
00:41:26point?
00:41:26They both
00:41:26cancelled each
00:41:27other out over
00:41:28the 15
00:41:28minutes of
00:41:29each half
00:41:30again and
00:41:31then it
00:41:31went to
00:41:31penalties and
00:41:32by the way,
00:41:33St Mirren were
00:41:34really,
00:41:35really,
00:41:35really good
00:41:36penalties that
00:41:37they took.
00:41:38I think the
00:41:38first one,
00:41:39Peter,
00:41:39I think
00:41:39Rander Clark
00:41:40should save.
00:41:41Yeah?
00:41:41I think that
00:41:42was a poor
00:41:42penalty,
00:41:43he should have
00:41:43saved that and
00:41:43then our
00:41:44four were
00:41:44tremendous.
00:41:45Four were
00:41:45top corner.
00:41:45Yeah,
00:41:46the next four
00:41:46after that.
00:41:49Unfortunately
00:41:49for Hartz,
00:41:50that's the
00:41:50treble at the
00:41:50window.
00:41:51Yeah,
00:41:51I noticed that
00:41:54you noised
00:41:55everybody up
00:41:56after my
00:41:56tweet,
00:41:57which caused
00:41:58a fair bit
00:41:59of consternation.
00:42:00Well,
00:42:00with the clicks.
00:42:01Well,
00:42:02not only that,
00:42:02I knew right
00:42:03away you
00:42:03thought you'd
00:42:04thrown your
00:42:04usual incendiary
00:42:05device in and
00:42:06then ran
00:42:07away.
00:42:08But,
00:42:08yeah,
00:42:10treble's gone,
00:42:10but,
00:42:11tongue-in-cheek
00:42:12from Tam,
00:42:14I thought
00:42:14first half
00:42:15St Mirren were
00:42:15great,
00:42:16Ruffy,
00:42:16and I think
00:42:17you cannot
00:42:18compliment him.
00:42:20Hard to beat
00:42:20at that stadium,
00:42:21you really are.
00:42:22And this is,
00:42:22you know,
00:42:23listen,
00:42:24this is what
00:42:24Stephen Robinson
00:42:25and Derek
00:42:26McKenna's had
00:42:26to say.
00:42:29I just felt
00:42:30one or two,
00:42:31I don't think
00:42:31anybody on our
00:42:32team set up
00:42:34with intention
00:42:35to just set up
00:42:35a penalty,
00:42:36because I didn't
00:42:36look at that,
00:42:37but I just felt
00:42:37maybe one or two
00:42:38could just give
00:42:39a bit more,
00:42:39just drag
00:42:40yourself in,
00:42:41make the
00:42:42difference.
00:42:43Coach St Mirren
00:42:43hemmed in
00:42:44at times,
00:42:46where shape
00:42:46was good
00:42:46against their
00:42:47shape,
00:42:47I felt,
00:42:48in that extra
00:42:48time period,
00:42:50and you're
00:42:50just looking
00:42:50for somebody
00:42:51to step up,
00:42:51and we never
00:42:52quite managed
00:42:53to do that,
00:42:54and then it
00:42:55plays out
00:42:55into penalties,
00:42:56which,
00:42:56you know,
00:42:56can happen,
00:42:57but disappointed
00:42:58to exit the
00:42:58Cup,
00:42:59congratulate
00:42:59St Mirren,
00:43:00they've won
00:43:00a tight tie
00:43:01on penalties.
00:43:02Yeah,
00:43:02we've done
00:43:03it three
00:43:03seasons in a row
00:43:04where we've
00:43:04defied the odds.
00:43:07Football isn't
00:43:07played on a
00:43:08fine hunt sheet,
00:43:08it certainly
00:43:09helps,
00:43:09it certainly
00:43:10helps you
00:43:10sign more
00:43:11ready-made
00:43:12players,
00:43:12but what it
00:43:13can't give you
00:43:13is a heart
00:43:14and a desire
00:43:14that we have,
00:43:15and we have
00:43:16an abundance,
00:43:17but you've
00:43:17also seen our
00:43:17quality first
00:43:18half,
00:43:18some really,
00:43:19really good
00:43:19football.
00:43:20We just
00:43:20lacked a
00:43:21little bit
00:43:21of composure,
00:43:22we looked
00:43:22tired in the
00:43:23second half,
00:43:23which made
00:43:24the game
00:43:24harder than
00:43:25we thought,
00:43:26and it's
00:43:26not for me
00:43:26to concentrate
00:43:27on hearts,
00:43:27I'm just
00:43:28looking at my
00:43:28team,
00:43:29ever so proud
00:43:30of each
00:43:30individual,
00:43:31and hopefully
00:43:32we get a
00:43:33bit of a
00:43:33lock in the
00:43:33draw.
00:43:34I think
00:43:35you should
00:43:35be proud
00:43:36of them,
00:43:36because in
00:43:37that first
00:43:37half,
00:43:37they defended
00:43:39well,
00:43:40I like the
00:43:41boy Killian
00:43:41Phillips,
00:43:42he's a
00:43:43player,
00:43:45and Bacchus
00:43:46was great,
00:43:46he looked as
00:43:47if he'd
00:43:47never been
00:43:48away,
00:43:48fitted in,
00:43:49really good
00:43:50play,
00:43:51second half
00:43:51hearts,
00:43:52made three
00:43:52big changes,
00:43:54and started
00:43:55to really get
00:43:55a grip on
00:43:56the game,
00:43:57but just
00:43:57lacked that
00:43:58wee bit of,
00:43:59I think there's
00:43:59still something
00:43:59missing from
00:44:00them,
00:44:00I think they
00:44:00need another
00:44:01option,
00:44:02other than
00:44:03Shanklin.
00:44:03No,
00:44:04I think you've
00:44:04given all the
00:44:05credit to
00:44:05St Mirren,
00:44:06I think
00:44:06St Mirren are
00:44:07now turning
00:44:08into a team
00:44:09that other
00:44:09teams don't
00:44:10want to go
00:44:10and play
00:44:10at their
00:44:10ground,
00:44:11you know,
00:44:12you get a
00:44:12team,
00:44:13you don't
00:44:13have no
00:44:13fans that
00:44:13go in
00:44:14there,
00:44:14they always
00:44:14make it
00:44:14hard for
00:44:15you,
00:44:15I think
00:44:15St Mirren
00:44:16are now
00:44:16that team
00:44:17that nobody
00:44:18likes going
00:44:18there,
00:44:18because they
00:44:19know they're
00:44:19going to be
00:44:19in for a
00:44:20battle,
00:44:21if they're
00:44:22going to get
00:44:22it in,
00:44:23they're going to
00:44:23fight right
00:44:24until the
00:44:24end,
00:44:24and that's
00:44:25what they
00:44:25do,
00:44:25I thought
00:44:26the free
00:44:26kick was
00:44:27well worked,
00:44:28they'd obviously
00:44:28worked on it,
00:44:29everybody's waiting
00:44:30and the curler
00:44:31coming in and
00:44:32he plays it
00:44:32wide,
00:44:33which shifted
00:44:33a lot of
00:44:34people and
00:44:35left a big
00:44:35room for
00:44:36Gogic,
00:44:36it was
00:44:37fantastic.
00:44:37You know what
00:44:37was great
00:44:38about Gogic,
00:44:38Tom,
00:44:39see at times
00:44:40in the back
00:44:40line,
00:44:41he's a
00:44:41calming
00:44:42influence,
00:44:43and he does
00:44:43the big lad
00:44:44play some
00:44:45really nice
00:44:45football,
00:44:46plays it out
00:44:46from the
00:44:46back,
00:44:47but then
00:44:47Steven
00:44:48Robertson
00:44:49thinks,
00:44:49we've lost
00:44:50a wee bit
00:44:50of a grip
00:44:50in the
00:44:51midfield,
00:44:52so he
00:44:52sticks him
00:44:52in there
00:44:53and then
00:44:53he just
00:44:54changes it
00:44:55and puts
00:44:55another man
00:44:56into the
00:44:56back line
00:44:56and Gogic
00:44:57adds a wee
00:44:58bit of
00:44:58steel in
00:44:59there,
00:44:59I just
00:44:59thought he
00:44:59was,
00:45:00you know
00:45:00he's,
00:45:01I don't
00:45:01know,
00:45:02I'm not
00:45:02saying he's
00:45:02much malign
00:45:03because I
00:45:03think a lot
00:45:04of people
00:45:04realise the
00:45:05quality of
00:45:05him.
00:45:06I really
00:45:06liked him
00:45:07at Hibs,
00:45:07he was
00:45:07brilliant under
00:45:08Jack Ross,
00:45:09the season
00:45:09Hibs finished
00:45:09third,
00:45:10Hibs went
00:45:12a different
00:45:12direction and
00:45:13they ended
00:45:13up going
00:45:13to St.
00:45:14Myrne,
00:45:14my brother
00:45:15in law and
00:45:16his brother
00:45:16are season
00:45:17ticket holders
00:45:17at St.
00:45:18Myrne and
00:45:19they think
00:45:19he's one of
00:45:20the best
00:45:20players they've
00:45:20ever seen,
00:45:21I mean they're
00:45:21both in their
00:45:2250s and
00:45:23they think
00:45:23Gogic,
00:45:24I thought you
00:45:24were going
00:45:24to say
00:45:24they're both
00:45:25five.
00:45:26No,
00:45:26they're both
00:45:27older and
00:45:29honestly,
00:45:30when I say
00:45:30to them
00:45:30they're top
00:45:31three ever
00:45:32St.
00:45:32Myrne players
00:45:32he's in it,
00:45:33I'm telling
00:45:35you they love
00:45:36Gogic,
00:45:36they think he's
00:45:37absolutely
00:45:38tremendous,
00:45:39no,
00:45:40they love
00:45:41Gogic,
00:45:41they absolutely
00:45:42love him,
00:45:43the St.
00:45:43Myrne fans
00:45:43love him.
00:45:43He's a good
00:45:44player,
00:45:44he's not the
00:45:45best St.
00:45:45he's not the
00:45:46best St.
00:45:47Myrne players
00:45:47of all time
00:45:48roughy.
00:45:48Come on.
00:45:49Come on.
00:45:49Why don't you
00:45:49sit here and
00:45:50start rhyming
00:45:51off players?
00:45:52Frank MacDougall,
00:45:53Frank McGarvey,
00:45:54Jackie Copeland,
00:45:55it's all about
00:45:55opinions.
00:45:56Billy Abercrombie.
00:45:57They love
00:45:58Gogic and
00:45:58the St.
00:45:59Myrne fans
00:45:59adore him,
00:45:59he's a cult
00:46:00hero.
00:46:00Oh,
00:46:00no wonder
00:46:01he's a star,
00:46:02I mean,
00:46:02we had Stephen
00:46:03Robertson in
00:46:03here and
00:46:04I don't know
00:46:05if you remember,
00:46:05Stephen said
00:46:06one of his
00:46:06players chapped
00:46:07the door to
00:46:08say I think
00:46:08I'm not getting
00:46:09as much money
00:46:10as Gogic
00:46:11and Stephen
00:46:15a great line
00:46:15isn't it?
00:46:16It's just a
00:46:16brilliant line,
00:46:17he can play
00:46:17anywhere,
00:46:18I just think
00:46:18he's a great
00:46:19player but
00:46:19it's a good
00:46:21pub argument
00:46:22isn't it?
00:46:22By the way
00:46:23the difference
00:46:23is if you
00:46:24have that
00:46:25pub argument
00:46:25and Paisley
00:46:26there's a
00:46:27full scale
00:46:27around the
00:46:28street.
00:46:29You think
00:46:31of that
00:46:31St.
00:46:31Myrne team
00:46:32that won
00:46:32the cup?
00:46:33I can't
00:46:34know,
00:46:34he's head
00:46:34to the
00:46:35Strolls
00:46:35into that.
00:46:35Have a word
00:46:36with your
00:46:36brother
00:46:36Myrne.
00:46:37Strolls
00:46:37into that
00:46:38street
00:46:38way.
00:46:38Ian Ferguson
00:46:39played for
00:46:40St.
00:46:40Myrne for
00:46:40God's sake,
00:46:41scored the
00:46:41winner in
00:46:42the cup
00:46:42final.
00:46:43He's
00:46:43a great
00:46:43player.
00:46:44Anyway,
00:46:44no,
00:46:45absolutely
00:46:45not.
00:46:47Ian Ferguson
00:46:48has got
00:46:4810 Premier
00:46:49League medals
00:46:50from me.
00:46:51He's a
00:46:51great player.
00:46:52Kelly 2,
00:46:53Dundee
00:46:54United 1.
00:46:55This is
00:46:55what Stuart
00:46:56Kettlewell
00:46:56and Jim
00:46:56Goodwin
00:46:57made of
00:46:57it all.
00:46:58First
00:46:58half I
00:46:58thought we
00:46:58played
00:46:59some
00:46:59OK
00:46:59football
00:46:59at
00:47:01not the
00:47:01kind
00:47:01of tempo
00:47:02that we
00:47:02want to.
00:47:03Second
00:47:03half I
00:47:03thought we
00:47:04offered
00:47:04very,
00:47:05very little
00:47:05in an
00:47:06attacking
00:47:06front going
00:47:07forward.
00:47:07We ran
00:47:08out of
00:47:08steam,
00:47:08we ran
00:47:09out of
00:47:11the
00:47:13Cup
00:47:13or
00:47:13something
00:47:13as
00:47:13that.
00:47:14I
00:47:14think
00:47:15the
00:47:15secret
00:47:16to
00:47:16everything
00:47:16is to
00:47:16try and
00:47:17get the
00:47:17buy-in
00:47:17for the
00:47:18players
00:47:18as much
00:47:18as you
00:47:18can.
00:47:19I need
00:47:20to go
00:47:20on record
00:47:20again
00:47:21today
00:47:21and say
00:47:22that their
00:47:22buy-in
00:47:22has been
00:47:23first class
00:47:23but we
00:47:24have to
00:47:24keep
00:47:24working
00:47:25and
00:47:25moving
00:47:26forward
00:47:26and not
00:47:26standing
00:47:26still.
00:47:28United
00:47:29just ran
00:47:29out of
00:47:29gas.
00:47:30Horrible
00:47:30feeling.
00:47:31Knocked
00:47:31out of
00:47:31two
00:47:31cups
00:47:32in one
00:47:33week.
00:47:33It must
00:47:34be very,
00:47:35very
00:47:35difficult.
00:47:36A lifted
00:47:37dressing room.
00:47:38Obviously
00:47:38a lot of
00:47:38foreign
00:47:39players
00:47:39in there.
00:47:40You've
00:47:40got to
00:47:40hope
00:47:40that
00:47:41there's
00:47:41a lot
00:47:41of
00:47:41good
00:47:42footballers
00:47:43in there.
00:47:44Guys who
00:47:44can encourage
00:47:45the other
00:47:46ones to get
00:47:47their heads
00:47:47up and go
00:47:47on with it.
00:47:48It's a long
00:47:48season and
00:47:50you just
00:47:50hope the fans
00:47:51keep buying
00:47:51into everything
00:47:52he's trying
00:47:52to do.
00:47:53I think
00:47:53they're going
00:47:53to be top
00:47:54six.
00:47:55I genuinely
00:47:55do.
00:47:57Dundee
00:47:58United,
00:47:58I still
00:47:59think he's
00:47:59got quality.
00:48:00I like him
00:48:01as a
00:48:01manager.
00:48:02I think
00:48:02he's come
00:48:02through a lot
00:48:03of pain.
00:48:04He's
00:48:04growing in
00:48:06stature.
00:48:07I like the
00:48:07way they
00:48:07play football.
00:48:08I think he
00:48:08needs a couple
00:48:09more players.
00:48:10Fair play to
00:48:11Kilmarnock because
00:48:11it's going to
00:48:12become really
00:48:12difficult for
00:48:13all of us to
00:48:13try and pick
00:48:14and I'm
00:48:14going to ask
00:48:15you to pick
00:48:15who's going
00:48:16to be in
00:48:17the playoff
00:48:17and who's
00:48:17going to be
00:48:18relegated.
00:48:18Once we get
00:48:19to September
00:48:191st and we
00:48:20see the
00:48:20strength of
00:48:20the signings
00:48:21but Kelly,
00:48:22the boy
00:48:23Brannan's
00:48:23pass for
00:48:24Dakar's
00:48:24goal was
00:48:25just top
00:48:25draw.
00:48:26It was a
00:48:26really promising
00:48:28young player.
00:48:28Obviously
00:48:29scored a
00:48:29scream at
00:48:30Easter Road
00:48:30as well.
00:48:32I'm not
00:48:32so sure
00:48:32about
00:48:33Kelly this
00:48:33year.
00:48:34They've
00:48:34started pretty
00:48:35well.
00:48:35I think
00:48:36they've had
00:48:36two of the
00:48:36rows in the
00:48:36league and
00:48:37obviously a
00:48:38good result
00:48:38of the
00:48:39weekend.
00:48:40I still
00:48:40think they'll
00:48:41be running
00:48:41about the
00:48:41bottom.
00:48:42I agree with
00:48:45Dungeon United.
00:48:46I think
00:48:46they're just
00:48:47leggy,
00:48:47they're just
00:48:48tired.
00:48:48They've got
00:48:48a lot of
00:48:49injuries and
00:48:49a hard
00:48:50schedule.
00:48:50I think
00:48:51once things
00:48:51settle down
00:48:52they'll be
00:48:53in the
00:48:53top six
00:48:53again.
00:48:54We're going
00:48:55to talk
00:48:55about this
00:48:55last team
00:48:56here.
00:48:57Livingston
00:48:570,
00:48:57Hibs 2,
00:48:58Clangia
00:48:59and Mulligan.
00:49:00Mulligan's
00:49:00a screamer
00:49:00wasn't it?
00:49:01Yeah,
00:49:02I think he's
00:49:02been a
00:49:03fantastic
00:49:03signing
00:49:03Peter.
00:49:04He was
00:49:04heavily
00:49:05linked to
00:49:05Rangers
00:49:06last
00:49:06season.
00:49:06I don't
00:49:06think
00:49:07Russell
00:49:07Martin
00:49:07fancied
00:49:08them.
00:49:10Rangers
00:49:10has
00:49:11lost
00:49:11Hibs
00:49:11has
00:49:11gained.
00:49:12He looks
00:49:12a tremendous
00:49:12player.
00:49:13He can
00:49:13play in
00:49:13numerous
00:49:14positions
00:49:14as
00:49:14well.
00:49:15Great
00:49:15engine
00:49:16up and
00:49:16down
00:49:16the
00:49:16park.
00:49:17I'm
00:49:18delighted
00:49:18for
00:49:19Cleegee
00:49:20who scored
00:49:20the goal
00:49:20as well.
00:49:21He's
00:49:21obviously
00:49:21came with
00:49:22a massive
00:49:22price tag.
00:49:23A lot
00:49:24Hibs
00:49:24supporters
00:49:24want to
00:49:24see
00:49:25more
00:49:25of him.
00:49:26I think
00:49:26David
00:49:26Gray
00:49:26has
00:49:27managed
00:49:27him
00:49:27well.
00:49:28He's
00:49:28obviously
00:49:28been
00:49:29settling
00:49:29in and
00:49:29not quite
00:49:30ready to
00:49:31start
00:49:32games.
00:49:32I think
00:49:33it was a
00:49:33perfect
00:49:33opportunity
00:49:34yesterday.
00:49:34He came
00:49:34in and
00:49:35looked
00:49:35sharp.
00:49:36He scored
00:49:36a great
00:49:36header.
00:49:37Again,
00:49:38it gives
00:49:38David
00:49:39Gray a
00:49:39welcome
00:49:41headache
00:49:41for the
00:49:41weekend.
00:49:42Saringer
00:49:42came in
00:49:43and kept
00:49:44a clean
00:49:44sheet.
00:49:44Nothing
00:49:45much to
00:49:45do.
00:49:45Does he
00:49:45keep
00:49:46Smith
00:49:46in?
00:49:47Does he
00:49:47bring
00:49:47him
00:49:48back
00:49:48in?
00:49:48The
00:49:48big
00:49:54I think
00:49:54Hibs
00:49:54are looking
00:49:55really
00:49:55strong at
00:49:55the minute
00:49:55as well.
00:49:57Do you
00:49:58fancy
00:49:58them
00:49:58against
00:49:59Lesia?
00:49:59I think
00:50:00they need
00:50:02to win a
00:50:03home game.
00:50:03They need
00:50:04to go
00:50:04over to
00:50:04Poland.
00:50:04I think
00:50:05Hibs
00:50:08will
00:50:09take
00:50:09care
00:50:09of
00:50:10them
00:50:10at
00:50:10home.
00:50:10I'll
00:50:11tell you
00:50:11one
00:50:11thing
00:50:12they can't
00:50:15stop
00:50:15talking
00:50:15about
00:50:15Kieran
00:50:16Bowie
00:50:16as
00:50:16well.
00:50:19Nicky
00:50:20Cadden
00:50:20gets
00:50:20back
00:50:21up
00:50:21to
00:50:21speed
00:50:21again.
00:50:22Gets
00:50:22in
00:50:22a
00:50:23regular
00:50:24amount
00:50:24of
00:50:24games.
00:50:24They've
00:50:24got
00:50:25options.
00:50:25They might
00:50:27surprise us
00:50:27with a
00:50:27couple of
00:50:28signings
00:50:28as well.
00:50:29Yeah,
00:50:30they certainly
00:50:30have.
00:50:31Whoever's
00:50:31owning the
00:50:32club is
00:50:32back to
00:50:33manager.
00:50:33I've seen
00:50:34all the
00:50:35good stuff
00:50:35he's done
00:50:36and gave
00:50:36him the
00:50:36money to
00:50:36bring in.
00:50:37Obviously
00:50:37Hanley
00:50:38wouldn't
00:50:38be cheap
00:50:38or it
00:50:39would be
00:50:39wages.
00:50:41I think
00:50:42they're
00:50:42looking a
00:50:42lot
00:50:43better at
00:50:43the
00:50:43back.
00:50:44I like
00:50:44the
00:50:44boy
00:50:45McGrath
00:50:45in the
00:50:45midfield.
00:50:46He gives
00:50:47you a
00:50:47bit of
00:50:48stability
00:50:49in there
00:50:49and as
00:50:50Tam said
00:50:50they've
00:50:50got three
00:50:51or four
00:50:51options
00:50:51up front
00:50:52plus the
00:50:53Cardam
00:50:53boys
00:50:53wide.
00:50:54Do you
00:50:55fancy
00:50:55them
00:50:56leisure?
00:50:56I'm
00:50:56going to
00:50:56stick
00:50:56with
00:50:57them
00:50:57as
00:50:57well.
00:50:57What
00:50:58score?
00:50:592-0.
00:51:012-0.
00:51:012-1
00:51:02Hibs for
00:51:02me.
00:51:022-1
00:51:03Hibs?
00:51:03I know
00:51:05they're prone
00:51:06to lose
00:51:06a goal
00:51:06haven't they?
00:51:07I'll go
00:51:072-0 and
00:51:08hopefully
00:51:08they can
00:51:09take that
00:51:09over and
00:51:09defend and
00:51:11then maybe
00:51:11nick one
00:51:12over there.
00:51:13Just with
00:51:14that point
00:51:15alone guys
00:51:15before we
00:51:16get to
00:51:17the English
00:51:18Premier League
00:51:18and a
00:51:19couple of
00:51:19things that
00:51:19are rather
00:51:20disturbing
00:51:21about football
00:51:22matches and
00:51:24social media
00:51:24these days
00:51:25but if you
00:51:27were trying to
00:51:27pick the top
00:51:28six and the
00:51:28bottom six
00:51:29right now
00:51:30it's really
00:51:30difficult because
00:51:31you're looking at
00:51:32teams and they're
00:51:33surprising you with
00:51:34results.
00:51:35I think
00:51:35Dundee United,
00:51:37Hibs and
00:51:37Harts have
00:51:38improved greatly.
00:51:39I can see
00:51:40them in the
00:51:40top, then
00:51:41you've got
00:51:41Rangers and
00:51:41Celtic.
00:51:42So then
00:51:43you're looking
00:51:44at one other
00:51:44team to
00:51:45hit that
00:51:46top six
00:51:46and it's
00:51:47either going
00:51:48to be an
00:51:48Aberdeen
00:51:48or a
00:51:49St Mirren
00:51:49and that's
00:51:50the big
00:51:51call isn't
00:51:51it?
00:51:52I think
00:51:52what will
00:51:53hinder Aberdeen
00:51:53is they're
00:51:54going to be
00:51:54involved in
00:51:55Europe group
00:51:55stage football.
00:51:56They'll be
00:51:57playing Thursday
00:51:57Sunday all
00:51:58the way to
00:51:58Christmas and
00:51:59they've
00:51:59started pulling
00:52:00the league and
00:52:00I think
00:52:01Aberdeen will
00:52:03really struggle
00:52:03with that.
00:52:04I think if
00:52:05you're looking
00:52:05for a wee
00:52:06upset it
00:52:06maybe be
00:52:07a St Mirren
00:52:07getting into
00:52:08the top six
00:52:09instead of an
00:52:10Aberdeen but
00:52:10there's a long
00:52:12way to go.
00:52:13A long way to
00:52:13go in this
00:52:13transfer.
00:52:15For the
00:52:18sixth spot
00:52:19with Aberdeen
00:52:20getting in
00:52:21there.
00:52:21You could be
00:52:22right Ruffy.
00:52:23It's worth a
00:52:24shout.
00:52:24What do you
00:52:24think of
00:52:24Ruffy's
00:52:25thoughts or
00:52:25what do you
00:52:26think overall
00:52:27when you're
00:52:28trying to pick
00:52:28a top six
00:52:29when you're
00:52:29looking at
00:52:29the signings
00:52:31that are made
00:52:31by the
00:52:32managers and
00:52:32there's still
00:52:33a fair bit of
00:52:34time to go
00:52:34before we hit
00:52:35the 1st of
00:52:36September and
00:52:36we see the
00:52:38players that are
00:52:38going to be
00:52:39brought in and
00:52:40of course it's a
00:52:41big big week.
00:52:42Celtic will
00:52:42want to take
00:52:43an advantage over
00:52:44to Kairat
00:52:44Almaty.
00:52:45And also
00:52:47Rangers.
00:52:48Huge, huge week.
00:52:49I was just
00:52:49looking at the
00:52:49fixtures for
00:52:51Rangers coming up.
00:52:52This is massive
00:52:53in August.
00:52:55August is huge
00:52:56because it's two
00:52:57games against
00:52:58Club Bruges,
00:52:59St Mirren at
00:53:00St Mirren Park
00:53:00and then Celtic
00:53:01at home and
00:53:03Hearts and
00:53:04Hibs at home.
00:53:05what a run.
00:53:07For me, this
00:53:10next four weeks
00:53:12could be season
00:53:14defining for
00:53:15Rangers.
00:53:16Yeah, I think
00:53:18that's why the
00:53:18Rangers managers
00:53:19try to bring in as
00:53:20many players as
00:53:20possible.
00:53:21He knows with all
00:53:22these games coming
00:53:23up there's going
00:53:24to be injuries,
00:53:24there might be
00:53:25some suspensions.
00:53:26So the more
00:53:27players he's got
00:53:28available the better.
00:53:29He's signed 10
00:53:30off it.
00:53:30Yeah, I know,
00:53:31but I think he'll
00:53:31keep trying to get
00:53:32people on loan.
00:53:34But I really do
00:53:36think that these
00:53:36games that you've
00:53:37talked about are
00:53:38going to be important
00:53:38for the whole
00:53:40Rangers this season.
00:53:40Have you got three
00:53:41games at home in
00:53:42a trot?
00:53:43Yeah.
00:53:44Celtic, Hearts and
00:53:45Hibs.
00:53:45Yeah.
00:53:46Hibs in the cup.
00:53:47But I'll tell you
00:53:48right now, Tam,
00:53:49it's massive and
00:53:51he's going to have
00:53:51to get these players
00:53:52in and ship out
00:53:53what I call the
00:53:54losers.
00:53:55Yep, and he's
00:53:56no Mars and
00:53:56Freda after the
00:53:57way they've started
00:53:57in the league, Peter.
00:53:58They've dropped
00:53:58four points already.
00:53:59So, they've got a
00:54:01really, really tough
00:54:01schedule coming up.
00:54:02Even after that,
00:54:03they're away to
00:54:03Livingston.
00:54:04So, they've got a
00:54:05real tough run of
00:54:06games and all he's
00:54:08got to do is win
00:54:08games.
00:54:09Winning games as a
00:54:10manager of the
00:54:10Rangers buys you
00:54:11time.
00:54:11And if he wins
00:54:12games and he buys
00:54:13himself time, then
00:54:14that's all he's
00:54:15looking for at the
00:54:15minute.
00:54:15But if he doesn't
00:54:16win games, that
00:54:17time will start to
00:54:18run out for him.
00:54:19Yeah.
00:54:19Okay, give us your
00:54:20thoughts on that as
00:54:21well.
00:54:21So many big games
00:54:22coming fast and
00:54:24furious and Scottish
00:54:25football as ever is
00:54:26the league that keeps
00:54:27on giving in the
00:54:28Premiership and
00:54:29Beyond.
00:54:30We'll keep right
00:54:31across all the
00:54:31stories, right across
00:54:32social media for you.
00:54:34One that saddened me,
00:54:35it was Liverpool 4,
00:54:36Bournemouth 2.
00:54:37Antoine Semenu was
00:54:39allegedly, at this
00:54:41point, abused.
00:54:43The police have made
00:54:44an arrest on a man
00:54:47who abused the
00:54:48Bournemouth player.
00:54:49which, Ruffy, I'm not
00:54:53surprised, people are
00:54:54aghast, people are
00:54:55looking at it and
00:54:56saying, you know,
00:54:57football has to do
00:54:58more.
00:54:59Football is not, the
00:55:02football authorities
00:55:03can, you know, with
00:55:05the police, arrest
00:55:06people.
00:55:07Society, the police,
00:55:09the government has to
00:55:10do more.
00:55:10There needs to be a
00:55:13campaign and an
00:55:15education programme
00:55:16for people to try and
00:55:18eliminate the thought
00:55:19process in their head
00:55:20when they think it's
00:55:21OK to abuse somebody
00:55:22for their race.
00:55:23That should come from
00:55:25the government, be
00:55:26stamped on by the
00:55:27police and also have
00:55:29an education programme.
00:55:30But unfortunately, what
00:55:32you have in certain
00:55:34quarters, especially
00:55:35with the groundswell
00:55:37of media platforms,
00:55:38social media platforms,
00:55:40is you have a
00:55:40groundswell of the
00:55:41most moronic people
00:55:43on earth have a
00:55:44platform to abuse
00:55:46people.
00:55:47And I don't know how
00:55:48you stamp it out.
00:55:49I think the police and
00:55:50the government have
00:55:51got a tough job on
00:55:52this.
00:55:53Yes, they make their
00:55:54way into football
00:55:54grounds.
00:55:55Yes, they then peddle
00:55:56their bile and abuse
00:55:58players.
00:55:58But what can the
00:55:59football clubs do?
00:56:00You can't suddenly
00:56:01check somebody for
00:56:02being a racist as he
00:56:03walks into a football
00:56:04ground and then
00:56:05utters all sorts of
00:56:07abuse towards a
00:56:08player.
00:56:08It's despicable.
00:56:09And we only have to
00:56:10look at Kyle Stout, a
00:56:11young girl who's
00:56:13growing up, going
00:56:13through her bodily
00:56:14transformation, loves
00:56:16playing football, plays
00:56:17for Kelly.
00:56:18They do a social media
00:56:19release and people
00:56:20abuse her just because
00:56:21of certain blemishes
00:56:23on her face.
00:56:24I just think it's
00:56:25despicable.
00:56:27It is.
00:56:28I think last year I
00:56:29remember reading
00:56:29something about the
00:56:30government are going
00:56:30to try and do
00:56:31something with the
00:56:32trolls that come on
00:56:33that they've got to
00:56:34put their own name
00:56:34instead of using some
00:56:37stupid name.
00:56:38And with that name
00:56:39you've got to have an
00:56:39address and log in.
00:56:41I think these people
00:56:42have to be identified.
00:56:43They shouldn't be
00:56:43hiding behind a name
00:56:45that you can never
00:56:46trace.
00:56:47But it's good that the
00:56:48police arrested that
00:56:48boy.
00:56:49I think that's immediate
00:56:50action.
00:56:51You know, we like to
00:56:52see that.
00:56:53And I think last year,
00:56:54I think the same
00:56:54happened up here.
00:56:55The police arrested
00:56:56somebody and well
00:56:57done to the company
00:56:58that the boy worked
00:56:59for.
00:56:59They sacked him
00:57:00immediately.
00:57:00Yeah.
00:57:01You know, these are
00:57:01the kind of things
00:57:02that people out there,
00:57:03if they're prepared to
00:57:04do that kind of stuff,
00:57:05they have to be prepared
00:57:06for the actions that's
00:57:07going to happen if they
00:57:08do it.
00:57:08But you've been
00:57:09happening on.
00:57:10It has to start at a
00:57:11young age, at school,
00:57:13advising kids, you know,
00:57:14this is how you should
00:57:15be brought up.
00:57:16This is how you should
00:57:17behave, particularly, you
00:57:18know, with your
00:57:19friends and everybody.
00:57:20So, lots of things
00:57:22to be done, but the
00:57:23arrest and punishing
00:57:24is a great step.
00:57:25And I think the young
00:57:26Kelly player scored a
00:57:27screamer and a 4-0 win
00:57:29for them in her game,
00:57:30so fair play to her
00:57:31for that.
00:57:32But why should they
00:57:33take down the social
00:57:34media posts to bow to
00:57:36these people who are
00:57:36morons, Tam?
00:57:38Yeah, I think I just
00:57:39try to protect her,
00:57:40Peter, you know, with
00:57:40the comments and,
00:57:41you know, some of the
00:57:42stuff with Scandless
00:57:42that was getting
00:57:43written about a young
00:57:43girl.
00:57:44And I'm really,
00:57:46really glad to see
00:57:47that everyone rallied
00:57:48around her.
00:57:48You know, some big
00:57:49names on social
00:57:50media and, you know,
00:57:50got behind her and
00:57:51she scored a great
00:57:52free kick.
00:57:53I've seen it today on
00:57:54Twitter, you know,
00:57:55and she scored a
00:57:55brilliant goal at the
00:57:56weekend and, listen,
00:57:58I think it's great
00:57:58that everybody's
00:57:59rallied around and
00:58:00Commandlip women's
00:58:01team will get a lot
00:58:02more publicity on the
00:58:03back of it as well,
00:58:03she will as well.
00:58:04So, a lot of people
00:58:05will be following her
00:58:06career, you know,
00:58:07and see how she does,
00:58:08but, yeah, you're
00:58:09right, you put a
00:58:10picture up, you put a
00:58:11video up of someone
00:58:13and you're getting
00:58:14slaughtered.
00:58:15It's bang out of
00:58:16order and I hope
00:58:17they find who it was
00:58:18and ban them from
00:58:21social media, but,
00:58:22you know, fair play
00:58:23to everyone for
00:58:23getting behind her
00:58:24and doing the
00:58:25right thing.
00:58:25Yeah, I thought
00:58:26Semenya, I thought
00:58:28he showed particular
00:58:29strength and went on
00:58:30and scored two goals
00:58:31and he's one of those
00:58:32players who was so
00:58:34calm, he could have
00:58:35been one that would
00:58:35have, you know,
00:58:37taken it out on
00:58:38everybody in the
00:58:38stadium when really
00:58:39it was only one
00:58:40individual.
00:58:41Yeah, I mean, again,
00:58:42it is the individual,
00:58:43you know, a lot of
00:58:44people are strong
00:58:45enough inside, you
00:58:46know, to put that to
00:58:48the backbone and
00:58:48concentrate on what
00:58:49they're doing, but
00:58:50there must be much,
00:58:51much more people out
00:58:52there who can't
00:58:53handle that kind of
00:58:54scenario and they're
00:58:55the ones that are
00:58:55getting punished.
00:58:56Yeah, absolutely, I
00:58:57didn't see anything
00:58:58great from the start
00:58:59of the Premier League
00:59:00at the weekend, guys.
00:59:01I mean, I love
00:59:02Scottish football and
00:59:03I think we all do,
00:59:05but I didn't see
00:59:06anything unbelievably
00:59:07fantastic.
00:59:08Man City just
00:59:08strolled as usual.
00:59:10Yeah, Liverpool
00:59:11obviously look good
00:59:12going forward, I
00:59:13think defensively
00:59:13look a wee bit
00:59:14suspect at the
00:59:14minute, but yeah,
00:59:16I watched the
00:59:16Man United Arsenal
00:59:17game yesterday,
00:59:18thought Man United
00:59:18played well,
00:59:19probably a wee bit
00:59:20unfortunate to lose
00:59:21the game, Chelsea
00:59:21game is rotten,
00:59:23but I've always
00:59:24said to you, I
00:59:25prefer to watch
00:59:25Scottish football.
00:59:26Yeah, absolutely.

01:00:16faces.
01:00:17Are you going to
01:00:18deliver them,
01:00:18aye?
01:00:18Yes, we usually do
01:00:19it.
01:00:20I have to say,
01:00:21yeah, absolutely
01:00:21Ruffy, that's one
01:00:22thing about you.
01:00:24Last year, can you
01:00:25remember where we
01:00:25were?
01:00:26Edinburgh.
01:00:27Ben were down in
01:00:29Leith.
01:00:30Hibsland for a
01:00:31thousand pounds.
01:00:31Runner, wasn't
01:00:31she?
01:00:32She was a runner?
01:00:32Yes, she was a
01:00:33runner and a smile on
01:00:34her face because
01:00:35Ruffy was her hero.
01:00:36So it was great to
01:00:37see an 84-year-old
01:00:39absolutely delighted to
01:00:40see somebody that had
01:00:41seen Ruffy play.
01:00:43Holy kidding, she was
01:00:44quite young.
01:00:44Unfortunately, she's
01:00:45still with her husband
01:00:45so your luck was
01:00:46it.
01:00:47Yeah, her dad and
01:00:48everybody was there,
01:00:49it was fantastic and
01:00:50her face was lit up.
01:00:52Ruffy handing over a
01:00:53thousand pounds in
01:00:55Edinburgh.
01:00:56Hope she never counted
01:00:56it till we left.
01:00:57Oh, exactly.
01:00:58And I was going to
01:01:00say, the last time he
01:01:03handed over a thousand
01:01:04pounds was in the
01:01:05Bermuda Triangle in
01:01:06Edinburgh.
01:01:07That's another story.
01:01:08Anyway, if you live in
01:01:09Edinburgh, you know the
01:01:10score.
01:01:11Thanks to everyone for
01:01:12listening to the
