00:00And speaking of the Dodgers, Jack, if you go back to March and you go back to even maybe further back of February, this was a super team that was going to break the record for the most wins in baseball.
00:10And everyone's a prisoner of the moment.
00:12The odds were set real high.
00:14I mean, you never know.
00:14The Dodgers may not even win 100 games this season.
00:17They just didn't really look good against the Angels at all, but then bounced back and beat the Padres.
00:22And I think it's probably a good lesson to be learned in sports these days, Jack.
00:26And until the CBA changes in some way, these dynamic super teams, like L.A., and like we see it in the NBA and maybe even the NFL as well, it's all about what you do at the end of the season, not the regular season.
00:38Hopefully that's a lesson to be learned, I think, for some.
00:40I wouldn't say the Dodgers have sleptwalked through the season, but it sure feels like there's been pockets of the year, Jack, where they just were not as focused as they probably will be later on.
00:49Yeah, and, Craig, I think you can comp Otani to LeBron in a couple of different ways.
00:53And I think the easy slam-dunk way to comp Otani to LeBron is he's on teams that could underperform in the regular season, but you know in your heart of hearts that this guy is going to be ready to go come October 1st.
01:05And it's not Otani.
01:07Otani is probably, you know, speed rolling towards another National League MVP award.
01:11For me, it's the starting rotation, right?
01:13I mean, I think we were looking at the Dodgers at the beginning of this year saying, okay, you know, they have eight or nine starting pitchers that you feel really good about, but they're the Dodgers.
01:24Everybody's going to be hurt within a month.
01:26And lo and behold, everybody was hurt within a month.
01:29And now, as we sit here on August 19th, we're seeing Snell throw at the peak of his powers, and Glassnow throw at the peak of his powers, and Otani is ramping up.
01:39Clayton Kershaw somehow is stiff-arming father time still, and then Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been kind of the equalizer in there.
01:47And then you've got Emmett Sheehan, who had worked his way back from Tommy John surgery earlier this year.
01:51So I'm just looking at the Dodgers saying, okay, it's okay that you underperformed in June and July and got swept by the Angels in August.
02:00You're getting healthy, and your starting pitching is ramping up right on time.
02:04And there's a chance that everybody is all systems go come October 1st.
