00:55We begin with the news, still with us.
01:10Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro met Monday with governors and majors from the Great Patriotic
01:14Poll, Simón Bolívar and the United Socialist Party, PSUV, to establish the strategic guidelines.
01:19The meeting was held in Caracas Teresa Carreño Theater, where the president urged to move
01:25on with the so-called Seven Transformation Plan to, among other things, make Venezuela free
01:30of criminal gangs and drug dealers. The Bolivarian head of state also highlighted the importance
01:35of the upcoming Congress of the United Socialist Party on September 11th and 12th, which he described
01:42as an extraordinary event with a popular and revolutionary character. The president also condemned the
01:47attacks carried out by Washington against Latin American migrants and called them racist and
01:52discriminatory.
01:53In this regard, President Maduro recalled the 200th anniversary of Bolivia's independence and the

03:06a United Nations report that emphasizes that Venezuela has successfully combated drug trafficking,
03:12a conclusion that fully contradicts the narrative of the Western hegemonic media.
03:24Using the excuse of the fight against drug trafficking to

08:35Welcome back to From the South. U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday that his Russian counterpart,
09:01Vladimir Putin, is willing to end the Ukrainian crisis. The statement was made after Trump met with Ukrainian
09:07President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Monday, where he affirmed that the Russian leader,
09:13Vladimir Putin, really wants to end the conflict as soon as possible. The U.S. President described as
09:18wonderful the fact that the Russian head of state had come to the United States to meet with him, and so asserted that
09:25he will discuss proposals to resolve the Ukrainian conflict with his European allies, and that they must be sustainable.
09:38In other news, on Sunday, the government of Barbados outlined upcoming changes to the country's
09:44legislation, including the amendment of a clause in the Interception of Communications Bill, which had
09:50been poorly received by the population. In a speech to the nation, Barbadian Prime Minister
09:55Mia Motley addressed the clause, which would have allowed certain communications to be intercepted
10:01without a judge's warrant, assuring it will be removed when the bill goes to the Senate. The law
10:07is part of a broader package of crime-fighting legislation currently before Parliament, including
10:13measures for criminal proceedings, juries and police and firearms amendments. In this context,
10:20Mottley underscored the government's commitment to balancing citizen protection with respect for democratic
10:26oversight.

11:18In Peru, indigenous communities in northern part of the country continue in an indefinite
11:23strike against illegal mining. The community blocked access to the lower basin of the Tigre River,
11:29vowing to keep it blocked until the Baluarte government removes the mining
11:33dredgers and eliminates water pollution. The protesters rejected the government's inaction in this context,
11:41reiterating that defending life and health is non-negotiable for them, and that they will
11:47not back down as long as illegal mining continues to destroy their territory. Indigenous people in the
11:52region reported that illegal miners use mercury to process the gold they extract from the Amazon.
11:59When this mercury is dumped into rivers, it poisons animals and ultimately damages human health.
12:12Colombia prepares to host the 5th Amazon Summit, which on August 22nd will bring together representatives
12:18of eight nations alongside indigenous communities. The Reparatory Sessions aim to establish a joint
12:25declaration to strengthen measures addressing the climatic, environmental, economic, security
12:30and social challenges facing the Amazon. Among the authorities expected to attend are the presidents
12:36of Colombia and Brazil, as well as delegations from countries such as Bolivia, Suriname and Venezuela.

14:37operations in Gaza City after approving the plan for the new phase of their expansionist agenda.
14:43In a statement, the Israeli military high command emphasized that it will maintain its deployment
14:49throughout the Palestinian territory as part of its strategy to take full control but feel well
14:54focused on the enclaves as capital. The action comes amid a never-growing humanitarian catastrophe
15:00triggered by Israel's blockade of humanitarian aid and constant attacks on civilian infrastructure.
15:06Numerous countries and international humanitarian organizations have rejected the latter Israeli
15:11expansionist plans calling for an immediate ceasefire and the safe entry of humanitarian assistance.
15:24The Palestinian Prisoners Club condemned the abuse of 48 women in the Israeli Daman prison. In a statement,
15:31the organization confirms that imprisoned Palestinian women are subjected to ongoing repressions and
15:37serious violations of their human rights, including physical and psychological abuse. The text also
15:42reveals that two minors and pregnant women are among those detained in Daman. The Palestinian Prisoners Club
15:49also condemns prison security for using tear gas against detainees as well as for causing food shortages
15:57and the spread of diseases. Following the increase in Israel's repressive policies, Palestinians are urging
16:04human rights organizations and international agencies to intervene to stop the violations and guarantee the
16:10protection of Palestinian prisoners. Israel's state controller launches investigation against Prime Minister
16:24Benjamin Renyahu and former army chiefs over the October 2023 raid on the Gaza Strip. Local media said
16:33the investigation will focus on issues related to mistakes made during operational AXA flood, where the
16:39Israeli army acknowledged its failure to defend the Sufa kibbutz against the Palestinian resistance Hamas.
16:45A report details that nearly 50 Palestinian fighters infiltrated and attacked the settlement,
16:51where three residents were killed and several homes were damaged.
17:00And the Iranian Foreign Ministry addressed the recent protests in Israel stating they
17:05evidence the death of the Zionist regime's internal crisis.
17:12These protests are highly significant. The Zionist regime is facing serious crises.
17:23The insistence of its leaders on continuing the war and pursuing expansionism
17:28has not only angered and worried the countries of the region, the entire Islamic world,
17:43and in a way the international community as a whole. But it seems the patience of the regime's
17:49own society is also running out. I think the widespread protests we witnessed yesterday
17:55show the depth of the crises this regime is grappling with, internally.
18:02However, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bagaye condemned the inaction of the
18:07United Nations Security Council in the face of Israel's genocide in Palestine.
18:11The most important international body responsible in this regard is the United Nations Security Council. As the body
18:23in charge of maintaining international peace and security, the Security Council should have at least
18:30issued a resolution condemning the actions of the Zionist regime and forcing it to stop the genocide in Gaza.
18:38We know that because of U.S. obstruction and its full-scale support for the Zionist regime,
18:46this has not happened. But that does not mean we should not use other regional and international
18:54institutions to document these crimes, build consensus, and mobilize public opinion to put pressure on the
19:03Zionist regime and its supporters.
19:20From heavy rains in various parts of the country rose to 400. The provinces in the northwest of the country were the most
