00:00Thank you to Squarespace for sponsoring this video.
00:04I'm leaving New York again.
00:06Hello, this is Taylor.
00:07And ever since, I've been doing YouTube full-time.
00:09Okay, well, let's back up.
00:10So for those who don't know, I was a management consultant.
00:13I quit that job.
00:14I've been doing YouTube full-time in the meantime,
00:16but I do have another corporate job lined up that I start in a couple months.
00:19Recap over.
00:20So since this sort of interim period started where I've been doing YouTube full-time,
00:24I've constantly gone between wanting to stay in New York
00:27and making these sort of New York-centric videos that I've been hoping to make for so long now
00:32because I finally have the time to dedicate to them.
00:34Or should I just be traveling the whole time because I have the time to do that now
00:39and I'm in between jobs and, like, when will I get that chance again?
00:41And then it finally dawned on me, why not both?
00:44Yes, if I'm traveling a lot, I won't be able to post quite as often,
00:47but I can make travel videos.
00:49So I'm heading to JFK Airport in a couple hours.
00:52My mom's going to meet me there, and you may or may not know,
00:54depending on how many of my videos you've seen,
00:56but we really enjoy taking spontaneous trips together.
00:59And this is going to be a good one.
01:01She's on the plane as we speak from Los Angeles to here.
01:04And where are we going, you might wonder?
01:06Well, by the looks of things,
01:08we are going to be flying first class from JFK to Tel Aviv.
01:12And because this was so last minute, we literally decided to do this yesterday.
01:15How much is that going to cost me?
01:17About $179.
01:18I wish I had this great travel hack that I could share with you guys
01:22so you could do the same thing.
01:23But as you guys, once again, may or may not know,
01:26my dad was a pilot for Delta.
01:27And so that comes with amazing travel benefits.
01:30I have flown totally for free for most of my life.
01:32And then once I turn 24, I have to pay this little fee called Yieldfair.
01:35But yeah, that little fee is, you know, $179 round trip to Tel Aviv.
01:40So and how did we decide Tel Aviv?
01:42Well, the way that my mom and I like to travel
01:44is by looking at how many open seats there are on certain flights.
01:47And that flight had a lot of open seats.
01:49I've never been to the Middle East.
01:51She hasn't either, and we figured, why not?
01:53So I'm going to pack, and I will see you guys at the airport.
01:57I get the port of Air Airport.
02:04Let's go find Clear.
02:05That was probably a record time for security.
02:08Clear is the way to go.
02:12Don't mind if I do.
02:14I think this is officially the lounge that I've been to the most.
02:21JFK Delta Sky Lounge.
02:22What you doing, Taylor?
02:24So we're landing in the morning, and we need to find a place to stay.
02:28So we're eating cookies, drinking some gin, and finding a locale.
02:35Nothing like traveling standby, is there?
02:37Want to say hi to the people?
02:39We are now our recurring guests.
02:40This is Mama Turtle.
02:42Better known.
02:43Yeah, videographer.
02:44Videographer extraordinaire.
02:47Here we go.
02:48I remember when we said everything will happen, and we knew it would never fail, and we would never fail.
03:06Here we are.
03:07Wow.
03:08I've never been in the full-on pods before.
03:10Yeah, where they didn't know.
03:12Yeah, like where this kind of separation.
03:13When I get tired of talking to you, I can raise it then.
03:19Sounds good.
03:20Let's get started.
03:23Just got our menu.
03:29I'm going to make my entree selection.
03:31Little limousa action.
03:33He said champagne or orange juice, and I said,
03:36All right, guys.
03:39Taking off shortly.
03:41We made our dinner selections, including, well, you'll see.
03:45Got a little mimosa.
03:50I just said honey.
03:51And as you can see here, my mom just said f*** the orange juice.
04:05Night, night.
04:11All righty.
04:19There's not too much to see here, but I figured I'd give you an official tour anyway.
04:23So, of course, this is a completely lay flat seat.
04:25You already saw my handy dandy cubby where I tucked in my shoes for a restful night of sleep earlier.
04:30Up here, it's really just some space for stuff.
04:32So, I just have my book, my wireless microphones, phone charger, some USB outlets,
04:36which my mom tried to steal from me in a heated crime of passion earlier.
04:40Big old fluffy comforter and a pillow, which I'm about to break into before we even take off.
04:44I'm also a proponent of settling in and getting level 10 cozy as soon as possible.
04:48Back here, some noise-canceling headphones, some slippers that I wore to the bathroom,
04:52an amenity kit, which had, you know, toothbrush, toothpaste, sleepy mask, earplugs, lotion, chapstick, those kind of things in it.
04:57I personally didn't think this bag was quite as swaggy as some other ones that I've seen,
05:01but I survived nonetheless, and I'm not sure I've ever spoken a more first-world sentence in my entire life.
05:06Hydration is key, and finally, one mother.
05:08And that's pretty much the seat tour. Now let's get level 10 cozy.
05:11Let's also hit the like button just for fun while we're at it.
05:14Also, I just gotta say, first class and business class are expensive AF,
05:18but it's crazy how big of a difference it makes when you can actually lay flat and get some sleep on super long-haul flights like this.
05:24I wouldn't be willing to drop thousands on it at this point in my career,
05:28but I could see it being something that I splurge on a little later in life during big travel trips.
05:32Until then, I will happily take my $179 seat right here or at the very back of the plane.
05:38We finally took off, and I decided to read my book for a while before our dinner came out.
05:42This was just a fun beach read called Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid,
05:46who's the same author that wrote The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, which is an incredibly popular book.
05:51I read both of them, and I'm glad I did, but I am personally a bit more into kind of murder, psychological thrillers,
05:56so I switched back to that genre after finishing this one.
05:59A little refreshment before the main meal comes out.
06:02I got half cranberry juice, half club soda with a little lime.
06:05Delicious.
06:06Yeah, I don't know what that is.
06:08Great meal came.
06:09It comes all at once if the flight is late enough.
06:11Got a little burrata action over there.
06:14Some tomato bisque.
06:16Chicken, bread.
06:17All right, let me get your take on this in the comments.
06:21When you guys are on a flight, do you tend to gravitate towards comfort movies that you've seen a bunch of times before,
06:26or do you watch new movies?
06:27For me, I'll watch a new one if it's something that I've been meaning to see,
06:30but almost always I will watch repeats that I know and love.
06:33Oh, let's get a bite of my mom's meal here real quick.
06:36So as you see here, I'm watching the 2006 cinematic masterpiece Cars starring Lightning McQueen.
06:40I saw this movie in theaters on my last day of school in second grade, and 16 years later,
06:45oh my god, 16 years, it still stands the test of time.
06:48Cars and ratatouille will always slap, no matter how old you are.
06:51Oh, and how was the food?
06:52I thought it was great.
06:53I don't really think I'll ever be unimpressed by airplane food, to be honest,
06:56because eating a meal at 30,000 feet is just so cool to me.
06:59My expectations are not that high in the culinary department.
07:02Hello.
07:05I just slept for like eight hours.
07:07Hey guys, I'm mic'd up so you guys can hear me.
07:09So we're landing very shortly.
07:11Flight attendant was nice enough to let me sit over here.
07:13This one was unoccupied, just so I can see the landing.
07:16This is an Airbus 330-900.
07:18They said that it fits like 280 people.
07:21Insane.
07:21Landing soon.
07:22I'll show you the beaches when we land.
