"Do what you do with diligence."

That was the heartfelt appeal of Aaron Francois.. as he delivered the eulogy for his six-year-old son, Jasher,.. who was laid to rest on Saturday.

The grieving father.. believes that if everyone carries out their duties with diligence and care.., Trinidad and Tobago will become a better place.

00:00His last night in the hospital, Joshua started playing with my face and randomly singing,
00:07Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen.
00:15And for those of you that don't know, Amen means so be it.
00:20So today my declaration is Amen.
00:23So be it, for the Lord has given and the Lord has taken away.
00:28But blessed be the name of the Lord.
00:30Nine days after his passing, little Joshua Francois was laid to rest.
00:36Scores of mourners turned out at the Baptist Ambassador's Church for Christ in St. John's
00:41to pay their final respects and reflect on his six years of life,
00:46including his older brother, who shared their inseparable bond.
00:50Dear Joshua, you are my best friend.
00:54You always played with me.
00:56I never had someone like you, because you are my little brother, and I will always remember you.
01:05I will always love you, forever and ever and ever.
01:11I know that you are with Jesus.
01:14You cannot come back to me, but I will come to you, and we will play and laugh together again.

01:25Joshua took his last breath on August 7th, after suffering an adverse reaction to a drug while
01:31hospitalized at the San Fernando Teaching Hospital.
01:35His father, Aaron Francois, is making the following appeal.
01:40According to the Oxford English Dictionary, it defines the meaning of the word diligence
01:45as careful and persistent effort or hard work.
01:50Everyone has seen that the passing of my son has had far-reaching impact on the nation and beyond.
01:57But let this unfortunate event now encourage everyone who has something positive to offer to society.
02:04Whether you are an employer at a job, business owners, entrepreneurs, politicians, lawyers, educators, medical practitioners.
02:13Please, I beg you, let us ensure that we do what we do with intelligence in our hearts.
02:19This way, we can become a much better people and a much better nation.
02:30A nation that will be beneficial for many future generations, inclusive of other six-year-old children,
02:37like my beautiful son Joshua, to be able to live a prosperous and a great life.
02:44Investigations have been launched by both the hospital and the Ministry of Health.
