00:01Well, it's been a successful day for Leeds Rhinos here at the One War Stadium.
00:07As it's now known, you can probably see in the background, Leeds' reserves have just beaten Tigers in a pretty hard-fought close contest by 7 points to more or less guaranteed top spot in the reserves table.
00:23And that will put them a home grand final. For the first team, it was a lot more straightforward. They won 64 points to 6.
00:32A really one-sided contest. Very disappointing from Tigers' point of view. Tigers were never really in it. They lacked physicality, they lacked effort.
00:41They made a series of very poor errors and having had a try disallowed early on before they'd even had to play the ball in Leeds' half,
00:50and they rarely looked like scoring and they were pretty fortunate to take advantage of a Leeds mistake in the final moments to avoid a whitewash.
00:59But from Leeds' point of view, considering they got most of their senior front rowers out, it was a good effort.
01:06Played some really nice rugby at times. Moved the ball about very well.
01:11Miller and Connor in the pivots were excellent. Again, those two are forming a really terrific combination at the moment.
01:21Very hard to defend against. But it was Leeds' back effort that was most impressive. That got them on the front foot.
01:28And once they'd scored a couple of tries in the opening few minutes, there was never any doubt about the result.
01:34Well done to young Pessie Cassell. Made his first start. Aged 18 in the front row, although he was normally a back rower.
01:42And marked it with a try. Did really well. I thought Chris Hankinson, one hour apart, had a much better game today.
01:49He had a spell at full back as well, so showed a bit of versatility even. And kicked a goal.
01:57But good performances across the board for Rhinos, really. And it will send them into a very big game against Sulkar on Thursday in good heart.
