00:20Save Kuala Lumpur Chairman M. Ali said the changes favor commercial interests over residents'
00:25concerns.
00:26The new rules also dispense with environmental, social, and traffic impact assessments, raising
00:32fears that developers could push projects through without accountability.
00:36Ali said the lack of clarity on whether residents' objections must be acted upon allows developers
00:42to bulldoze projects, leaving legal action as the only recourse, an option too costly for
00:47most communities.
