President Trump said he and Vladimir Putin had a “very profound” meeting, claiming that “many points were agreed to” but stressing that “there’s no deal until there’s a deal.” Trump added that while progress was made on several issues, a few “big points” remain unresolved. He announced plans to brief NATO allies and Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy on the talks. The president, however, declined to take questions from the press, leaving uncertainty about the details of the discussion.

00:00Well, thank you very much, Mr. President.
00:03That was very profound.
00:05And I will say that I believe we had a very productive meeting.
00:09There were many, many points that we agreed on, most of them, I would say, a couple of
00:14big ones that we haven't quite gotten there, but we've made some headway.
00:20So there's no deal until there's a deal.
00:23I will call up NATO in a little while.
00:26I will call up the various people that I think are appropriate.
00:30And I'll, of course, call up President Zelensky and tell him about today's meeting.
00:34It's ultimately up to them to have to agree with what Marco and Steve and some of the great
00:43people from the Trump administration who've come here, Scott and John Radcliffe.
00:49Thank you very much.
00:50But we have some of our really great leaders.
00:53They've been doing a phenomenal job.
00:55We also have some tremendous Russian business representatives here.
00:59And I think, you know, everybody wants to deal with us.
01:03We've become the hottest country anywhere in the world in a very short period of time.
01:06And we look forward to that.
01:09We look forward to dealing.
01:10We're going to try and get this over with.
01:13We really made some great progress today.
01:16I've always had a fantastic relationship with President Putin, with Vladimir.
01:23We had many, many tough meetings, good meetings.
01:29We were interfered with by the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax.
01:32It made it a little bit tougher to deal with.
01:34But he understood it.
01:36I think he's probably seen things like that during the course of his career.
01:41He's seen it all.
01:43But we had to put up with the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax.
01:46He knew it was a hoax and I knew it was a hoax.
01:49But what was done was very criminal.
01:51But it made it harder for us to deal as a country in terms of the business and all of the things
01:55that we'd like to have dealt with, but we'll have a good chance when this is over.
02:01So just to put it very quickly, I'm going to start making a few phone calls and tell them what happened.
02:07But we had an extremely productive meeting and many points were agreed to.
02:13There are just a very few that are left.
02:16Some are not that significant.
02:18One is probably the most significant, but we have a very good chance of getting there.
02:23We didn't get there, but we have a very good chance of getting there.
02:26I would like to thank President Putin and his entire team whose faces, who I know in many cases,
02:32otherwise, other than that, whose faces I get to see all the time in the newspapers.
02:38You're very, you're almost as famous as the boss, but especially this one right over here.
02:45But we had some good meetings over the years, right?
02:47Good, productive meetings over the years.
02:49And we hope to have that in the future, but let's do the most productive one right now.
02:53We're going to stop really five, six, seven thousand, thousands of people a week from being killed.
02:59And President Putin wants to see that as much as I do.
03:02So again, Mr. President, I'd like to thank you very much.
03:06And we'll speak to you very soon and probably see you again very soon.
03:09Thank you very much, Vladimir.
03:10Next time in Moscow.
03:11Oh, that's an interesting one.
03:12I don't know.
03:13I'll get a little heat on that one, but I could see it possibly happening.
03:21Thank you very much, Vladimir.
03:22And thank you all.
03:25Thank you so much.
