In a stunning twist at the Alaska summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin switched to English and personally invited U.S. President Donald Trump to Moscow for the next round of talks. Trump, smiling, said it could be “possibly happening,” leaving the world to wonder: is this the beginning of the end of the Russia-Ukraine war? With both leaders signaling unexpected camaraderie, Alaska may have just set the stage for a historic shift in global diplomacy.

00:00Next time in Moscow.
00:02Oh, that's an interesting one.
00:04I don't know, I'll get a little heat on that one,
00:06but I could see it possibly happening.
00:09Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States of America
00:13and the President of the Russian Federation.
00:18Ladies and gentlemen, President of the United States of America
00:21and President of the Russian Federation.
00:23President Trump, ladies and gentlemen,
00:34our talks were constructive.
00:39We had mutual respect.
00:42These were very useful and substantial talks.
00:45I believe we had a very productive meeting.
00:47There were many, many points that we agreed on,
00:50most of them, I would say, a couple of big ones
00:53that we haven't quite gotten there, but we've made some headway.
00:58So there's no deal until there's a deal.
01:01I will call up NATO in a little while.
01:04I will call up the various people that I think are appropriate,
01:09and I'll, of course, call up President Zelensky
01:11and tell them about today's meeting.
01:13It's ultimately up to them.
01:15They're going to have to agree with what Marco and Steve
01:19and some of the great people from the Trump administration
01:23who've come here, Scott and John Radcliffe.
01:27Thank you very much.
01:28But we have some of our really great leaders.
01:31They've been doing a phenomenal job.
01:33We also have some tremendous Russian business representatives here,
01:38and I think, you know, everybody wants to deal with us.
01:41We've become the hottest country anywhere in the world
01:43in a very short period of time, and we look forward to that.
01:47We look forward to dealing.
01:49We're going to try and get this over with.
01:51We really made some great progress.
01:54We have the same roots, so this for us is also a tragedy.
01:59So our country, Russia, is certainly interested,
02:02very much interested in putting an end to this conflict.
02:06We would like to see this settlement of the conflict to be,
02:12we want it to be stable and sustainable,
02:15and that requires us to address all of the reasons for the conflict
02:19and making sure that all of the Russia's interests are taken into account
02:23and that the balance of power is respected.
02:25I agree with President Trump, and he said, he spoke about this today as well,
02:30he said that Ukraine's security must also be respected,
02:36and we will continue to work on that.
02:39I'm sure that the understanding that we've reached today
02:42will help us open the path towards peace in Ukraine,
02:46and I hope that in Kyiv and in European capitals they will hear this
02:51and they will see this as a positive thing
02:53and will not try to create obstacles or create provocations
02:57and undermine the progress that we can achieve here.
03:01Again, Mr. President, I'd like to thank you very much,
03:04and we'll speak to you very soon
03:06and probably see you again very soon.
03:08Thank you very much, Vladimir.
