In an exclusive conversation with OneIndia, Burzine Waghmar – SOAS, University of London, says that he is not very optimistic of the meeting delivering any big deals or breakthroughs in the meeting. Waghmar adds that this meeting is just a precursor to a second meeting between Putin & Trump, possibly in Moscow and even a trilateral meeting which could involve Putin, Trump and Zelensky.
00:00As for the meeting, I think that there will be no big deal or agreement and there wouldn't be any document will be signed today.

00:34But I expect that there will be one more meeting between Trump and Putin in Russia.
00:40And following this meeting, it is possible that there will be bigger meeting, including Zelensky and European countries.
00:49Therefore, I consider this meeting as a pre-meeting.
00:54And I'm optimistic, I'm not very pessimistic.
00:58They will discuss something and maybe there will be limited ceasefire or limited airspace ceasefire would be accepted by Putin.
01:07Because normally Russia is strongly opposed to ceasefire.
01:12Because Russian experts consider that Russia especially in battle filed, Russia has initiative and advantage.
01:21Therefore, it is not logical to sign a big ceasefire because right now it is summer and Russia should continue military operations according to their point of view.
01:34Therefore, today maybe because of Trump's press, Putin can accept only limited ceasefire.
01:42However, as I already mentioned, this meeting will be grants or will be way for following meeting.
01:52And therefore, soon I think one more meeting will be held between Putin and Trump.
