00:00The Seattle Mariners, the New York Mets, Luis Castillo, Sean Minaya.
00:03The Mets can't get out of their own way.
00:05The Mets are a favorite tonight.
00:07Cal Raleigh better be in that lineup today for the Mariners.
00:10What are we thinking?
00:10Mariners, Mets here.
00:11Oh, what a good one we got.
00:13We are getting plus money with Seattle against a sinking Mets team.
00:17How are we just not simply rolling with the plus money where we can get it?
00:21The Mets can't get out of their own way.
00:23Yeah, they bolster the bullpen.
00:24But as I have said time and time again, if the starting pitching is terrible
00:29and all of a sudden you're down by four runs or you give up a four-run lead,
00:33the high leverage arms that you have will never come out of the bullpen
00:36because you're already down by four.
00:38And if the bats aren't hitting, what happens from the back end of the bullpen is irrelevant.
00:43So the Mariners, a good team.
00:44Again, I've said this how many times throughout the year.
00:46I just like to bet on good teams that are coming off of losing streaks.
00:50Oh, the Mariners at plus money lost a couple games in a row
00:52with by far the better pitcher on the mound,
00:55with a by far better lineup and an awesome bullpen.
00:57Give me the Mariners at plus money when it's all said and done.
01:01It's kind of, I'm still trying to figure out how the Mets only scored two runs
01:06against Bryce Elder yesterday when I think the three of us probably could have done better.
01:12Drives me absolutely crazy.
01:15But it is at Citi Field here.
01:18Do we think runs are coming in this game?
01:20If Seattle wins, are we getting an over?
01:22I would, I want to say no.
01:26I like, I would be more interested in the Mariners team total.
01:29That's what I'd be most interested in because if the Mets aren't hitting right now,
01:32I think Castillo can take care of business.
01:33And the Mariners bullpen is awesome.
01:35And let's just say Sean Minaya does have it in him to go five innings, six innings,
01:40only give up two runs.
01:42The Mariners are on a road trip right now.
01:44You know, they did travel yesterday.
01:46The Mets are at home.
01:46So if the Mets do keep it close and they do get to the bullpen, I could actually see this
01:50game falling under.
01:51But you give me plus money with a better team, I'm still going to be taking that.
01:55And yeah, I would lean under eight and a half at this point.
01:57You know, seven and a half, that'd be a different story.
02:00Em's looking at their track down the Houston Astros.
02:02The Mets is looking to probably stay in contention with the Philadelphia Phillies, which is a great
02:05crossover here because we have some other NLEs action tonight, Tom.
02:09A 645 start from the nation's capital.
02:11That's the Phillies taking on the Washington Nationals.
02:13Zach Wheeler is going to go up against Mackenzie Gore, who certainly has had his struggles.
02:17You know who else is struggling?
02:19The Philadelphia Phillies at the plate right now.
02:20But they are a heavy favorite against the Nationals.
02:23What's an angle, Tom, you'd like to play for this one tonight?
02:26The angle for this one is Zach Wheeler is by far the better pitcher.
02:31But I am worried about the shoulder issue that he has.
02:35We saw it last week.
02:36Five innings pitched, only 83 pitches more importantly.
02:40That is very concerning.
02:41And I wouldn't say I'm concerned about his overall health.
02:43It just comes down to his props.
02:45So I like him under seven and a half strikeouts today.
02:47Despite the fact that the Nationals are not a good team, they actually have a 20% strikeout rate
02:52versus right-handed pitching, which is the fifth lowest in the league.
02:56So they're somewhat disciplined at the plate.
02:58Like they're not good, but they're not free swinging.
03:00So, you know, Wheeler went five innings last week and had 95 pitches or 100 pitches.
03:05Okay.
03:06He's inefficient, foul balls, walks, whatever might be.
03:08But 83 pitches, you know, Donnie, this is something that we talked about.
03:11Like, I think they're going to reel him in to close out the final six weeks of the season.
03:14And once October 1st hits, they're like, he's ready to roll.
03:17We want to win the World Series.
03:19He doesn't need to have 110 pitches in a game in the middle of August against the Nats.
