00:00Final game on the rotation tonight, Tom, and that game is going to be played in Little Leagueville.
00:05That's Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
00:07It's Seattle and it's New York.
00:08It's George Kirby going up against Holmes.
00:10979, 980 on the rotation, a 7 o'clock start.
00:13You see the total opened up at 8.5, still sitting at 8.5.
00:17A favorite slightly overnight for Seattle.
00:19Minus 118, now sits at minus 125.
00:22Kirby versus Holmes.
00:23Mets won yesterday.
00:25Can Seattle return the favor today?
00:26I do think Seattle bounces back.
00:29They are by far the better team when it's all said and done.
00:32And again, this is not being played at a MLB ballpark.
00:35This is a minor league ballpark, although the dimensions are still the same, you know, 330-ish, 323 down the lines.
00:42It's 411 to center field at Bowman Field in Williamsport.
00:46Again, just because it has the dimensions of a major league park does not mean that the surroundings and the stands are that of a major league.
00:52So things will be impacted.
00:54Frankly, I would lean towards the over and the Mariners.
00:58And frankly, George Kirby is a significantly better pitcher compared to Clay Holmes, who I think is taking a significant step back.
01:03411 to exit up on the season.
01:05The strikeouts just simply aren't there for him.
01:07And that's how you beat the Mariners.
01:08You get them to swing and miss.
01:09If you're putting the ball in play and allowing their power to shine, I don't see how George Kirby gives up more than three or four runs.
01:18Edwin is all said and done because if he's given up three or four, I fully expect the Mariners to bounce back after losing to a rookie pitch or not a pitcher being in his MLB debut yesterday and put up five or six runs of their own.
01:29Yeah, you look at George Kirby to last 45 days, Major League Baseball time at seven starts.
01:34He's six and one over those seven starts, 42 and a third innings pitch, a 255 ERA, an X fifth number of 2.86.
01:41Then we just take a look at his last 121 batters he's faced, Tom, over the past month.
01:45It's unbelievable his numbers.
01:4729% strikeout rate, 6% walk rate.
01:49Iso against on those 121 batters and 064 weighted on base percentage against a 231.
01:55He's also a ground ball pitcher.
01:56Now, granted, you do have some really good batters in the lineup for the New York Mets, but if I'm just looking from a pitching perspective, this is the guy that I would want.
02:03And you're right about taking a look at Clay Holmes also.
02:05Big drop off from what the anticipation was for the expectations for the season once he began pitching because he's a little bit low.
02:11He has, what, 38 innings over the past 45 days, 545 ERA, 432 X fifth number, and then you take a look at the statistics themselves.
02:19This lineup should be able to hit for the Mariners in this environment, we would think.
02:22Also, you know what you like about this, too?
02:24Why don't you think the total is going to be there?
02:26Usually pitchers are really comfortable when they're at home.
02:29You get both of these pitchers, they're not home tonight, and sometimes that leads to a little bit more runs because of the unsure environment, but also understand this, too.
02:36Yesterday was a travel day for both of these teams.
02:38They didn't get to relax for a day before they played.
02:40They're right back in it tonight, and maybe that weighs on it as well.
02:43It does, and it's the travel.
02:46There's also going to be, you know, like the pomp and circumstance, like the media.
02:50It is a spectacle to a degree.
02:52So, like you said, they're not in their normal rhythm because even if, obviously, it's not a home game for the Mariners, but George Kirby would be asleep at a certain time.
03:00He'd be up at a certain time.
03:01He would go through his normal routine.
03:02Now they have to have this whole, like, oh, it is a spectacle for the Major League Baseball to put on at Williamsport.
03:09It's just a different environment.
03:10I would bank on runs more often than not, like we were talking about during the break.
03:13The London series, the Mexico City series, whatever it is, give us runs in these games.
