00:01:59Ends one chapter of a football life while beginning.
00:02:59From the 25, they'll go to work.
00:03:18First and ten.
00:03:20Ten!
00:03:22Out of the gun, they'll throw to get things going.
00:03:31Headed left, fine time.
00:03:32He'll swing this out to swim.
00:03:35He'll swing this out to swim.
00:03:35He'll swing this out to swim.
00:03:36And he's got...
00:03:37Right, but therop, he'll swing this out to swim.
00:03:39Yeah?
00:03:40He'll swing this out to swim.
00:03:42Come on.
00:03:45Happy三 minimumurate to swim.
00:03:50He'll resume with the ring.
00:03:52Yeah.
00:03:53Yeah.
00:03:54Back to the 35-yard line.
00:04:15It's a gain of 10 yards.
00:04:17Good for a Bears first down.
00:04:24He'll drop to throw.
00:04:27A quick slack with Kim Von Moore.
00:04:30And they'll have him across midfield, down at the opposing 46-yard line.
00:04:37Here's first and 10.
00:04:42Now they'll set up to throw.
00:04:44And he goes up top, looking for Kermit.
00:04:48You know, Mike, there's the saying in the NFL, take what the defense gives you.
00:04:52But that's not always the case.
00:04:54Sometimes you have to force a ball downfield.
00:04:57Show the defense you are willing to take big shots.
00:05:00Even though they weren't able to connect, it's going to have an impact the rest of the game.
00:05:05A bit of a quick hitter here.
00:05:07And what you're hoping for, Mike, is that the defense can't react quickly enough
00:05:10because the ball's coming out so hot.
00:05:12But they knew it was coming, and they end up holding him to just a short game.
00:05:17Through the middle, that's Kermit Moore.
00:05:19He's going to have the first down.
00:05:22So they convert on third down with a pickup of nine.
00:05:30To the left side, he's got Kermit.
00:05:33And they're going to get this all the way down inside the five.
00:05:38It'll be first and goal.
00:05:41That's a gain of 28.
00:05:42They'll look to throw again.
00:05:49Under pressure, and now he's going to go down back at the eight-yard line.
00:05:55Task a bit tougher as they face second and goal.
00:06:02Over here with Smith.
00:06:04And the defense stiffening here.
00:06:06He'll get back to the line of scrimmage.
00:06:08That's all.
00:06:09Third and goal coming up.
00:06:10Here we go, B.
00:06:10Here we go, B.
00:06:11Here we go, B.
00:06:11Here we go, B.
00:06:11Here we go, B.
00:06:11Here we go, B.
00:06:12Here we go, B.
00:06:14They'll throw.
00:06:15With the gun.
00:06:17That is incomplete great work to get in there.
00:06:21Make things difficult defensively.
00:06:23And it sets up fourth down.
00:06:25there you see ben johnson the head man in chicago as his bears get set to take over
00:06:41once more and greg week one here in the preseason look we know a lot of the guys who are going to
00:06:47make the roster but there's still a lot to happen in training camp that players can find their way
00:06:53to a spot on the opening sunday so we hear these stories all the time mike where there's a little
00:06:57buzz about a guy in training camp and coming out of the local beat reporters and maybe the coaches
00:07:01talking about a little bit but then there's the surrounding question is is he going to make the
00:07:06roster and it's really what they do in these preseason games away from practice that is ends
00:07:11up being the deciding factor and how often do we see not only do they make the roster but in some
00:07:16cases they go on to really have critical roles down the line as the season unfolds so i know to a lot
00:07:22of fans and some of the veterans these games don't feel like a whole lot but to some guys on that
00:07:28sideline their entire career is in front of them moving to his left trying to run for it and he's
00:07:35going to have a bears first down that'll be a pickup of about five as they convert on third nations
00:07:42what separates the really good quarterbacks from everybody else in the national football league
00:08:05is not only ability to process but the ability to process quickly under
00:08:11lebaire's offense going to get it one last time here late in the opening half they start with the
00:08:24lead and the football they do so with tremendous field position it's first and ten
00:08:31they'll come out throwing here to start to drive he'll get this underneath
00:08:38he's going to be marked down at the 12 yard line
00:08:43so halftime straight ahead and we go down to scott hansen who
00:08:50and a
00:08:57and a
00:09:04and a
00:09:10and a
00:09:14and a
00:09:16Let's go.
00:09:46Let's go.
00:10:16Let's go.
00:10:24The dream of reaching the NFL has been realized, but within this opening chapter, there is a message for every rookie.
00:10:32In the NFL, nothing is given. Everything must be earned.
00:11:02Let's go.
00:11:32Let's go.
00:12:02Let's go.
00:12:04Let's go.
00:12:11Let's go.
00:12:12Let's go.
00:12:13Let's go.
00:12:15Let's go.
00:12:16Let's go.
00:12:17Let's go.
00:12:18Let's go.
00:12:20Let's go.
00:12:21Let's go.
00:12:22Let's go.
00:12:23Let's go.
00:12:25Let's go.
00:12:26Let's go.
00:12:27Let's go.
00:12:28Let's go.
00:12:29Let's go.
00:12:30Let's go.
00:12:32Let's go.
00:12:33Let's go.
00:12:34Let's go.
00:12:35Let's go.
00:12:36Let's go.
00:12:37Let's go.
00:12:38Let's go.
00:12:39Let's go.
00:12:40Let's go.
00:12:41Let's go.
00:12:42Let's go.
00:12:43Let's go.
00:12:44Let's go.
00:12:45Let's go.
00:12:46Let's go.
00:12:47Let's go.
00:12:48Let's go.
00:12:49Let's go.
00:12:50Let's go.
00:12:51Let's go.
00:12:52Let's go.
00:12:53Let's go.
00:12:54Let's go.
00:12:55Let's go.
00:12:56Let's go.
00:12:57Let's go.
00:12:58Let's go.
00:12:59Let's go.
00:13:00Let's go.
00:13:01Let's go.
00:13:02Let's go.
00:13:03Let's go.
00:13:04Let's go.
00:13:05Let's go.
00:13:06Let's go.
00:13:07Let's go.
00:13:08Let's go.
00:13:09Let's go.
00:13:10Let's go.
00:13:11Let's go.
00:13:12Let's go.
00:13:13Let's go.
00:13:14Let's go.
00:13:15Let's go.
00:13:16Let's go.
00:13:17Let's go.
00:13:18Alonzo, Rupert, Burton, touchdown Chicago.
00:13:26They're going back to their first possession of this game like it resulted in a cut.
00:13:31Not exactly the fast start the coaches told us was so important as this game unfolds.
00:13:36They get the ball.
00:13:37So out comes the Chicago offense as they get set to take over once more.
00:13:50And, Greg, it's the time of year where those veterans know they're going to make the team.
00:13:55They're going to be on the roster for the opener.
00:13:57So when you went through that phase of your career, how did you approach the preseason?
00:14:01Yeah, certainly different when I was a rookie or really early in my career than I was towards the back end.
00:14:06There's no question.
00:14:07And I think as I got older in the league and a little bit more established, my priorities are...
00:14:12Look at him go!
00:14:14And they are not going to catch up to him.
00:14:17He will score!
00:14:2070 yards!
00:14:22Touchdown, Chicago!
00:14:24The Bears offense is going to get it one final time in this first half.
00:14:39They'll see if they can put something together here, beginning with first and 10.
00:14:43They do try to run it out as they start on the ground.
00:14:57And he's out of bounds, up beyond the 45-yard line.
00:15:01That one thrown behind his target.
00:15:14And it'll be incomplete.
00:15:16Luther burden the intended target.
00:15:18And it'll be second down.
00:15:24Back to throw.
00:15:26He'll let one go.
00:15:28Down the middle.
00:15:29That's going to wind up incomplete.
00:15:32Not much time remaining.
00:15:33Time for one more snap here in this first half.
00:15:37Let's go!
00:15:38On third down, they'll set up to throw.
00:15:42And that is incomplete.
00:15:45One final chance does not work out.
00:15:48Time has expired.
00:15:55Bears offense strotting back out with their first involvement of this second half.
00:16:00The deficit is double digits, so work to do as they begin this drive with first and 10.
00:16:06So the drive begins with a give to Johnson.
00:16:11They'll try to get back to the line, but it's not happening.
00:16:15Going to lose a yard.
00:16:17Last play went the wrong way.
00:16:19It sets up second along.
00:16:20It's second down and 12.
00:16:23They'll go again with Johnson.
00:16:25And this is a slight improvement over the previous play.
00:16:28He's not going to lose yardage, but he's not gaining any either.
00:16:31It's third down.
00:16:36Out of the gun.
00:16:37He'll throw.
00:16:39And this is caught on the sideline.
00:16:41Could have hit the first half.
00:16:42But wait a minute.
00:16:43Maybe not.
00:16:44They say the feet were out of bounds.
00:16:46Wow.
00:16:47Big, tight call there.
00:16:49Oh.
00:16:50Oh.
00:16:57Oh.
00:17:14Oh.
00:17:15Oh.
00:17:18Oh.
00:17:18Let's go.
00:17:48This franchise considers him a key part of its future.
00:17:52In its present, though, he's going to have to earn his playing time
00:17:55and faces an uphill battle to unseat the current starter.
00:20:32Let's go.
00:21:02Welcome back, everyone, to the NFL on EA Sports.
00:21:27Still early in this one as we pick up the action here in the first quarter.
00:21:32So their offense out now to get this game started.
00:21:35It's first and ten.
00:21:37Here's Swift to start the drive.
00:21:41He starts out this drive with a nice gain of eight.
00:21:44Second down.
00:21:46It's got to be so demoralizing as a defense when you go up against a running back who just keeps those legs churning like a piston in an engine.
00:21:53And that effort's contagious.
00:21:55This entire offense is getting a boost when he press those titles.
00:22:00And it will not get any further, but plenty of progress already.
00:22:04From a great throw to a nice route and catch to moving the chains.
00:22:08There wasn't a whole lot not to like about that amazing play.
00:22:11He'll throw on first.
00:22:15And he takes it just inside the 40, down to the 39.
00:22:20Well, he saw those guys pick up the blitz.
00:22:22Well, he felt them pick it up anyway if he wasn't looking at them.
00:22:24But with their effort on his behalf, I think this QB felt owed to them.
00:22:28And the group up front to find somebody to get a completion, so that effort up front wasn't in vain.
00:22:33And he takes this one in for a Chicago touchdown.
00:22:38The Bears finish up an excellent opening series.
00:22:43DeAndre Swift, the touchdown.
00:22:44The Bears and their quarterback ready to take over once again.
00:22:56And the turnover puts them right back out there.
00:22:58Just a few plays since they scored that touchdown.
00:23:00Well, they didn't get much time to rest.
00:23:02But guess what, Kate?
00:23:03That defense didn't get much time to rest either.
00:23:05Now he could go in attack mode while they're still shaking off that last touchdown.
00:23:10Well, they put way too much on that one, Brock.
00:23:12Over the end zone and out.
00:23:15So after the incompletion, here comes the second down call.
00:23:20Now looking to throw.
00:23:22Finds his running back, DeAndre Swift.
00:23:25So a solid gain there, Brock.
00:23:27But still third down is short that they've got to figure out now.
00:23:29As they pick up nine on that previous play.
00:23:35Trying to throw here out of the gun.
00:23:37Coming deep on, my goal is out.
00:23:40But it appears that the Bears were able to get their paws on that one.
00:23:45So they're keeping the football.
00:23:54The Bears headed back out on offense.
00:23:57Their quarterback returning to the field now.
00:23:59And they were able to contribute three points to the lead their last time out.
00:24:03Another chance to build on that advantage here.
00:24:05To the air now on first and ten.
00:24:15Short pass brought in.
00:24:16Continuing to move past the 45.
00:24:19And they catch up to him.
00:24:20But not until he's got a huge gain and a first down.
00:24:27We're back and all set for the second quarter.
00:24:29Fierce football.
00:24:30They've got first and ten here.
00:24:32Looking to add to their lead.
00:24:38Makes the grab in, Gams left side.
00:24:41And he's going to score.
00:24:42Touchdown, Chicago.
00:24:45The Bears making a nine-point advantage.
00:24:48The Bears ready for their next series.
00:24:57Let out on offense by their quarterback.
00:25:00And they're coming off an excellent series throwing the football that led to that touchdown,
00:25:04Bronx.
00:25:04So you and I both expecting that defense to be looking for that on this series.
00:25:10Throwing from the gun.
00:25:12Rolling left.
00:25:13Buying some time.
00:25:14He's running with it.
00:25:15And he's taking down here at the 16-yard line.
00:25:19Tip, tip, tip, tip, tip.
00:25:21You know, his internal clock right there told him it was time to escape.
00:25:24And good thing he listened to it.
00:25:26He was able to make something out of nothing and at least move them forward.
00:25:31From the 16.
00:25:34Gams is running back.
00:25:36And he's got them quite the game here, partner, as he finally is brought to a stop.
00:25:39You just got to love that angle, right?
00:25:43It's been around a long time.
00:25:44But think about it defensively, Kate.
00:25:46How many times do you see the backs out?
00:25:47The backfield will just run to the flop.
00:25:49The great greenbacks going to plant their foot.
00:25:52Sell that flop out.
00:25:53Break it off to an angle.
00:25:54Break it off.
00:25:55And they take this in for the score.
00:25:59The Bears making a 16-point ball game.
00:26:03DeAndre Swift, the touchdown.
00:26:05The Bears are being led back out there on offense by their quarterback.
00:26:18Their last drive contained a heavy dose of the ground game.
00:26:21A little old-school dominance on the way to a touchdown, Brock.
00:26:24Let's see if they stick with it or if they go aerial this time around.
00:26:31Now they'll throw out of the gun.
00:26:34Escapes the pocket.
00:26:35Going left side, finds Birdie.
00:26:39And he gets this down near the 30.
00:26:42It's a huge pickup on the play.
00:26:45And that will give them some serious momentum along with a first down.
00:26:51We're to the two-minute warning from Arrowhead.
00:26:54And it's the Bears who have first and ten.
00:26:57No look to throw.
00:27:05That's one of the catch-out left.
00:27:09And he'll get it down to the 24-yard line.
00:27:12Well, there's a time to be a little finessey with the football.
00:27:15Put a little touch on it.
00:27:16And then there's time to put your arm into it and let it eat.
00:27:19Throw it right through your target's chest.
00:27:22This one, that one right there was the one.
00:27:24Smart to make a fastball zing in before anyone could undercut the Corolla.
00:27:28Offense set for a first and ten.
00:27:32Let's go.
00:27:36From the red zone now.
00:27:39Hawken isn't holding up.
00:27:40They're able to drop it.
00:27:42And the big play drives them backwards.
00:27:45Second down coming up.
00:27:46Another try following the sack.
00:27:56Finds the in route complete.
00:27:58And he takes this hit.
00:28:00Touchdown, Chicago.
00:28:02The Bears get more points to end the lopsided first half.
00:28:08It is a word broadcasters hesitate to use for a lot of reasons.
00:28:12But four touchdowns and four drives, Brock.
00:28:14I think we can throw it out here.
00:28:16Perfection thus far.
00:28:18Yeah, this game will humble you at this level.
00:28:20I mean, this is the best of the best play in it.
00:28:22And you don't normally see this kind of...
00:28:23And you don't.
00:28:31And you don't.
00:28:33It's not a bad one.
00:28:35It's a good one.
00:28:37And you don't.
00:28:37And you don't.
00:28:38You don't.
00:28:39It's not a bad one.
00:28:40I don't know.
00:32:10Here comes the blitz as he looks to throw.
00:32:19He'll get this to the Missouri man, Luther Burton.
00:32:21And he'll be brought down just shy of midfield.
00:32:25Throwing now on first and 10, a hit as he throws there.
00:32:41It's going to wind up incomplete.
00:32:43The pressure got to him that time, and it'll set up second down.
00:32:50He'll drop the throw.
00:32:52Throw right side.
00:32:54Caught by Ogunze.
00:32:55And they'll take this down inside the 35, they'll come up here, first and 10.
00:33:04Back to the air one more time.
00:33:08And this takes him into the red zone.
00:33:10And this takes him into the red zone.
00:33:13He's brought down inside the 20-yard line.
00:33:16The red zone now.
00:33:23The red zone now.
00:33:24He'll drop to throw.
00:33:25Back complete to Swift.
00:33:28And he's in!
00:33:30DeAndre Swift.
00:33:31DeAndre Swift.
00:33:32Touchdown, Bears.
00:33:34It's his second touchdown of the year.
00:33:38Really nice job there by the receiver.
00:33:42Understanding what to do after you secure the catch and the ability to target him in the middle of the field.
00:33:48So, that's the most valuable real estate in football.
00:33:57Bears offense getting things in order as they trot out for this next possession.
00:34:01Craig, the NFC North has become such a fun division over the last few years.
00:34:05Think of the geography and the legacy.
00:34:07It's always been, because of the proximity, a fun division with great rivalries.
00:34:12But with almost all the teams playing well, save the Bears over the last few years,
00:34:16it's almost heightened the awareness of how good the NFC North can be.
00:34:21Yeah, I think going into the season, I make the argument it's the best division in football.
00:34:26I think when the worst team, I know they were 5-12 with the Chicago Bears,
00:34:30but to me, there's a lot of wins built in there.
00:34:32Now they bring in Ben Johnson.
00:34:34They continue to build around Caleb Williams.
00:34:36That feels like there's a lot more wins built into that 5-12 record
00:34:40if they just get themselves four guys and get some pieces around Caleb Williams.
00:34:45And that's what they've done.
00:34:45So, yes, Detroit and Minnesota Green Bay, they've clearly been the top three for the last couple years.
00:34:51But if Chicago and that roster, if that's your fourth best team in your division,
00:34:56man, I'll tell you what, those are going to be some really competitive division games this year.
00:35:01And I don't know if it's the weather.
00:35:03I don't know if it's the length of the franchises.
00:35:06But when these divisions go head-to-head, there always is a legacy field that just is additive to the anticipation of those matchups.
00:35:15Yeah, and every one of these franchises has significant history for a lot of different reasons.
00:35:20They have Hall of Fame players, Hall of Fame coaches.
00:35:23Some of the most iconic individuals in the history of the league have played for these four organizations over the last 50-plus years.
00:35:29So, there's so much into it, more than just the matchup on the field in that moment.
00:35:35And you can feel it with how much the fan base is.
00:35:37Under pressure, and down he goes!
00:35:40It goes back at the 10.
00:35:42From a little further back, his second and goal.
00:35:49Now they'll set up to throw.
00:35:52Forced out left.
00:35:53He's going to tuck it and go!
00:35:55Coming into the game, this is something defensively you have to be aware of.
00:35:59This quarterback gets a chance, and he sees some daylight.
00:36:02He's going to try to take it in on his own.
00:36:04But not in this case.
00:36:05They were quick to react, stop him short.
00:36:07Now brings up third and goal.
00:36:09And that is incomplete.
00:36:15A little miscommunication there.
00:36:17Now brings up third down.
00:36:18It just doesn't appear that the quarterback and the wide receiver were on the same page on that last pass.
00:36:24And go!
00:36:26They'll go!
00:36:27It's Johnson!
00:36:28And he's not going to get there!
00:36:30They stopped him at the goal line!
00:36:33It's a turnover on downs!
00:36:35The Bears are up.
00:36:41It's ready to get going again.
00:36:43They'll have it first in this third quarter.
00:36:46Well, Greg, it will be a very busy stretch for the passports.
00:36:50A lot of international games to look forward to.
00:36:52Seven and all outside the U.S.
00:36:54Chiefs and Chargers last week in Sao Paulo.
00:36:57Great ones to follow.
00:36:58Vikings and Steelers in Dublin.
00:37:00Vikings and London playing the Browns the very next week.
00:37:03Broncos and Jets, Rams and Jags, who also play in London, Week 6 and 7.
00:37:08The Falcons and the Colts are going to be in Germany in Week 10.
00:37:11And then the Commanders and Dolphins wrap up the international slate.
00:37:14That's in Madrid, Week 11.
00:37:16Greg, this has been such an additive part to the NFL season.
00:37:20D.J. Moore!
00:37:23Touchdown, Chicago!
00:37:24A terrific job all the way around, especially after the catch, Greg.
00:37:33So, out comes the Chicago offense as they get set to take over once more.
00:37:42You know, Greg, as we get the season going, obviously the adjustment to last year's new
00:37:47kickoff rules in place.
00:37:49We talked to a lot of coaches during the year.
00:37:51Spokes didn't seem too bothered about letting the other team have the ball at the 30-yard line
00:37:56after a touchback.
00:37:57But the 35-yard line, I don't know, does that feel any different to you?
00:38:01You know, it does.
00:38:01And I think the part that people don't talk about, Mike, is the impact that it's making
00:38:06on going forward on fourth down, not settling for field goals.
00:38:10Because remember, in the old days, if you got stopped inside the 5 or you scored inside the 5,
00:38:15it was all the difference.
00:38:16I said, but my kick to touchback, they got the ball at the 20.
00:38:19It wasn't that much of a spread.
00:38:20But now, all of a sudden, is it in my best interest to settle for a field goal and kickoff
00:38:25when I could give you the ball at the 35?
00:38:27Or even if I fail down there tight in the red zone on the 3,
00:38:31you now possess the ball inside your own 5-yard line.
00:38:33So, I think that's an element now that's causing offenses to go for more touchdowns,
00:38:38kick less field goals because the ensuing kickoff is giving my opponent the ball
00:38:44in much more favorable territory.
00:38:47You know, the other rule that is adjusted are overtimes in the regular season
00:38:51when we're quite off overtime.
00:38:53Each team getting the ball.
00:38:56I'm so happy, Greg, because I just felt so incomprehensible.
00:38:59The Bears' offense ready to get back at it.
00:39:09So, Greg, as offense comes on the road here in Week 2,
00:39:13look, road games are so hard in the NFL,
00:39:15but it's nice to hit the road coming off a win at home.
00:39:19Yeah, absolutely.
00:39:20And again, it's amazing how winning creates more winning.
00:39:24It kind of has the ability to kind of build on itself.
00:39:26It's a snowball effect.
00:39:27So, when you're winning, you're feeling good, everything works.
00:39:30And all of a sudden, you start losing,
00:39:32and you start questioning everything about your approach.
00:39:35So, the key in the NFL is win or lose, you're on to the next game.
00:39:39And it's the team's ability to start fresh every single week,
00:39:43regardless of the previous week's outcome.
00:39:46Those are the teams that find themselves in position of the playoffs down the stretch.
00:39:53They'll throw here on third and short yardage.
00:39:55Strangling to his left.
00:39:58And this ball incomplete on third day.
00:40:02Strangling to his face,
00:40:12I'll put the balletrack as they can.
00:40:14What do you see, bro?
00:40:17I'm going to leave.
00:40:18I's going to bring this ball later.
00:40:21I don't know.
00:40:51Let's go.
00:45:21Back now on EA Sports at Venerable Soldier Field here in Chicago.
00:45:38It's the Bears in control of the football as we wind our way toward a conclusion in the
00:45:43fourth quarter.
00:45:44Here we go.
00:45:48Here we go.
00:45:49Here we go.
00:45:50Here we go.
00:45:56Here we go.
00:46:02Here we go.
00:46:08Here we go.
00:46:14Here we go.
00:46:16Here we go.
00:46:30Here we go.
00:46:32Here we go.
00:46:36Here we go.
00:46:43Here we go.
00:46:44Here we go.
00:46:45Here we go.
00:46:46Here we go.
00:46:50Here we go.
00:46:51Here we go.
00:46:52Here we go.
00:46:56Here we go.
00:46:58Here we go.
00:47:00Here we go.
00:47:02Here we go.
00:47:03Caught by Kamek.
00:47:05Give him again a five on the completion.
00:47:08And that'll bring up second down.
00:47:12They'll run the draw here with Swift.
00:47:15And this winds up a pickup of two, maybe two and a half, to about the 39.
00:47:21Play number nine set to come here on the drive on third and two.
00:47:27Off the bootleg.
00:47:28Thanks.
00:47:29Oh, he had a man open, but he missed him, and it's incomplete.
00:47:35We just saw another example of really good defensive football,
00:47:38which has led to the cushion that they have in this game.
00:47:41Got to him once again, knocked him on the ground, forced an incompletion.
00:47:45And they set the tone.
00:47:46It's one thing to set the tone, another to come in here on the road and set the tone.
00:47:50And it's caught at the 10.
00:47:52And they move this all the way down to the 9.
00:47:55The time to pull out the stops is now, and they convert there on fourth down.
00:48:01The chain gang hustling to catch up.
00:48:03Here's first and goal from just inside the 10.
00:48:09Back to throw.
00:48:11Banks.
00:48:12Flushed out right.
00:48:13And he'll go right back to Moore.
00:48:15Complete again.
00:48:17A lot of effort there for just a three-yard gain, and now second down.
00:48:21From the gun, here's Swift.
00:48:31And he takes it into the end zone across the chalk.
00:48:35Now, there is a flag down, but I think that's offsides on the defense.
00:48:39Yeah, I think that's going to stand, partner.
00:48:41So, obviously, they will decline the penalty there, and the result is six points.
00:48:54So, now the Bears, down 28-21, 2-16 to play.
00:49:14How costly of an interception will that be?
00:49:17It's time to find out.
00:49:18First and 10.
00:49:19First and 10.
00:49:19First and 10.
00:49:24Looking to throw.
00:49:26Banks.
00:49:28Oh, he had a man running free, but he overshot him, and it's incomplete.
00:49:34They'll try again here.
00:49:35Second and 10.
00:49:43Oh, no, he lost the football.
00:49:46And this is picked up by the Saints.
00:49:48And a big turnover there as his guys will get the football back.
00:49:52And now Chicago getting ready to go as they take the field.
00:50:02And the points, they have come fast and furious in this quarter.
00:50:07You really don't want to be on the defensive side of the ball right now, do you?
00:50:10Because you're either thinking, my replacement may get an opportunity.
00:50:14Your head better be on a swimmer.
00:50:15Totally.
00:50:16Or maybe I just need to get out of the game for a while because I just can't slow these
00:50:20guys down.
00:50:21They've got to figure out a way to disrupt these offenses.
00:50:24And typically, one guy makes a big play, and that can help change things.
00:50:28They'll be looking for disruption on both sides right now.
00:50:32Over the middle.
00:50:33He's going to find Burden.
00:50:35And he'll be taken down, but not before he gets into enemy territory.
00:50:39Final minute, one timeout remaining.
00:50:44First and ten.
00:50:46And that is going to be incomplete as he let him a bit too much.
00:50:50Just over 50 seconds remain.
00:50:53Here's second and ten.
00:50:56He'll look to throw.
00:50:58Steps away to his left.
00:51:00They'll fire deep looking for more.
00:51:02And they'll wind up getting this one all the way down inside the 20.
00:51:08They'll come up.
00:51:09First and ten here.
00:51:13Back to throw.
00:51:15Bind time to his left.
00:51:19And down inside the ten here before he's out of bounds right around the seven.
00:51:24I do think it's fair to say that they were caught off guard a little bit when he decided
00:51:28not to throw it on first down.
00:51:30But give them credit.
00:51:30And they recovered in time to deny him the first down yardage.
00:51:34But it's only second and short.
00:51:35So that run is still likely to lead to a new seven.
00:51:38And he is across and in for the score.
00:51:42And now they can tie the game in the final stages with the extra point.
00:51:47Or they can go for two and go for the win.
00:51:51Obviously, the excitement level here is almost a fever pitch.
00:51:54Down one is tempting to go for two.
00:51:58I say you go ahead and kick the extra point.
00:51:59You've got the home crowd carried into overtime.
00:52:01I'm with you.
00:52:01I do see some fans holding up two fingers.
00:52:04Easy now.
00:52:05Yeah, they're not the ones who have to actually make that call, are they?
00:52:07The Bears' offense now getting ready to take over.
00:52:27This drive here beginning probably with a pair of motivated groups.
00:52:32Remember, the offense scored a touchdown on their last timeout.
00:52:35Looking to repeat that in Charles' defense.
00:52:37They were very frustrated after giving up six the last time on the field.
00:52:41And frankly, it's just a battle of wills in a lot of ways.
00:52:43Because you know they're both motivated.
00:52:45They both game plan for this drive.
00:52:48And they both have specific outcomes in mind.
00:52:50To me, it just comes down to who can execute better
00:52:53and which side can step up and assert its will over the other.
00:52:59And he'll get this complete downfield to come up.
00:53:05Touchdown, Chicago!
00:53:06And you're just a scholar all the way around.
00:53:27You're reading all the time.
00:53:29I like that you fit that into the broadcast.
00:53:30Yeah!
00:54:00You're reading all the time.
00:54:02You're reading all of some of them.
00:54:15You're learning all the time.
00:54:17I love.
00:54:17I love you.
00:54:18You're learning all the time.
01:00:49Here we go.
01:03:25First play is to the air.
01:03:39He's a big fan of the Bears, which is my goal.
01:03:41The Bears headed back out on offense.
01:04:07Their quarterback returning to the field now.
01:04:09That defensive stand might have been the final effort needed to seal away the victory,
01:04:14Brock, but can't quite take off the pads just yet.
01:04:17Offense has to finish this one out.
01:04:19Yeah, a few things here, Cates, keep in mind, right?
01:04:21You got to slow the game down as a quarterback.
01:04:22Take every second off the clock.
01:04:25If you're handling the ball, you guard it with your life,
01:04:27and you make sure your defense doesn't come on the field again.
01:04:30They just did their job.
01:04:32Now you got to do yours.
01:04:34Timeout Chicago.
01:04:35It uses its second.
01:04:37And they'll have just one left to burn now.
01:04:49They're on the counter with Swift.
01:04:51They will be stopped after just about a yard.
01:04:53Second and nine coming up.
01:04:55They're going to call their final timeout here, just nine seconds to go.
01:04:59I don't think that's the amount that they were looking for there, Kate.
01:05:02Going to lead to some shuffling around here in the playbook.
01:05:04Find a more aggressive call on second.
01:05:08Last run only gained a yard.
01:05:14That means it's second and nine.
01:05:17Here we go.
01:05:18Second.
01:05:1918 Cardinal.
01:05:2018 Cardinal.
01:05:21Staying grounded with Swift.
01:05:25And he's got the first down for the Bears, Brock.
01:05:29He's got to place them this way.
01:05:42So the Bears come away with a win.
01:05:44And they take not just a victory, but some serious year-long bragging rights home with
01:05:49them after this one as they finish off the sweep of their division.
01:05:52the Bears come away with JK.
01:06:19I am a head, I am going to go out all the way.
01:06:26My head would be over.
01:06:32I am holding a head.
01:06:34Luckily I would have the head or a head.
01:06:41I am holding a head, I am going to get a head.
01:06:48Let's go now.
01:06:58Ready, ready?
01:07:06Let's go now.
01:07:08Hut, hut.
01:07:16Down, go.
01:07:18Come on, come on.
01:07:26Set, hut.
01:07:34Here we go, here we go.
01:07:36Cougar 19.
01:07:42Ready?
01:07:43Get out of here.
01:08:03Come on.
