00:00The Indian skipper has done a tremendous job to get back there.
00:22Ridiculous running with two balls to go!
00:26What a joke!
00:30A very good evening to you, and welcome to today's highlights from the ICC World Cup.
00:43Both Ireland and England have been in action, and you know what that means, more nail-biting.
00:50We'll start in just a moment by taking you to Chittagong.
00:53A full house, an electric atmosphere, it's Bangladesh against England.
00:57Then we'll head west to Mahali, where Ireland hope to keep their quarter-final dreams alive, in a vital clash with the West Indies.
01:06And all I'm going to say at this stage is we have two hours of top action for you, topped off with the views of Michael Vaughan and Aza Mahmood.
01:16Right, let's get to Chittagong for the Group B game between Bangladesh and England at the Zahar Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
01:21Group B is proving far more complicated than Group A in working out who will end up in the quarter-finals.
01:27One thing was clear though, if England won today and Ireland lost, then England would be there.
01:31Shaqib Alhassan won the toss for Bangladesh in perfect conditions at the start of the afternoon, no doubt mindful of the due later, and therefore he decided to bowl first.
01:42And as far as the team news was concerned for England, Matt Prowers promoted to open once again.
01:47Morgan came into the side in the middle order.
01:49Collingwood replaced Yardy, and Admiral Shahzad got the nod as Broads replacement.
01:52For Bangladesh it was all much simpler, Marmadullah replacing Muhammad Ashrafal.
01:58England then to bat first, here's what happened.
02:09Good delivery, there was just a little bit of movement there for Sheffield.
02:13Just a hint, a little bit of swing there, just kept on going.
02:17Shot on the move, wasn't it? Walking into it.
02:27Yeah, it was a good ball though, it moved a little and it was kind of in-between length.
02:33I don't think Pryor was sure what to do, that's why he was stuck on the crease.
02:38Bangladesh will look to bowl tight at Pryor and not give him too much width outside the off-stump.
02:43It's a beautiful delivery again.
02:51Bounce and carry.
02:53Rather puzzled expression from Pryor looking at the surface, but...
03:03I thought the new ball might go through.
03:05That's why he does like them, they want to bowl too wide to Matt Pryor, give him any freedom outside the off-stump and he'll punish you.
03:16That's why I think he plays well when he attacks.
03:19Might as well attack.
03:21A little bit of width, he goes immediately after it, in the air but safe.
03:24Nice half folly, that will ease the pressure on Pryor.
03:32That's what he needs is a few of those, just to get him going.
03:35And that's right in his slot.
03:37Full and wide and...
03:42Launches into it.
03:44Good shot, very strong on the off-side.
03:46Edged.
03:53Slip was taken out, will it rush away for four?
03:56Yes.
03:58So a good over for England, 12 from it, 25 for none.
04:06Yeah, there's the cut, release the pressure.
04:09Should run away, does run away.
04:11Strauss gets four, it's 31 for none.
04:14Oh!
04:19Well, what's Pryor done there? No.
04:21You're kidding me, that has got to be very, very sloppy.
04:25Especially from a wicket-keeper.
04:27They're going to review it, but I think he's gone.
04:29He definitely went walkabout, when did he go walkabout?
04:34He's in there.
04:38Now...
04:40He takes the...
04:42They need to roll that on, because he also takes the stump out there.
04:46So he's either out for stumped, as he walks out,
04:50but the keeper, very aware, realising that he might have been in,
04:54takes the stump out as well with the ball.
04:56So either way, I think he's gone.
04:57Listen for the noise.
05:01There you have your answer.
05:03Pryor stumped off a wide.
05:05He's gone for 15, 31 for one.
05:07Jonathan Trot comes in at number three for England.
05:11Mighty fine player, form of his life, test match, one day cricket, any cricket.
05:16Jonathan Trot comes in at number three for England.
05:19Mighty fine player, form of his life, test match, one day cricket, any cricket.
05:37It's gone!
05:39Brilliant!
05:40What a catch!
05:42Siddiqui the man, the England captain's gone.
05:44Fantastic worker from the slipfielder, Jeanette Siddiqui.
05:50Everybody on their feet.
05:52Crowd loves it, and why not?
05:55Naeem Islam has picked up the captain of England team.
05:59I thought that was a little bit too close, but what a catch!
06:01Went pretty quickly to the right side, and he enjoys it.
06:05Absolutely brilliant cricket.
06:09And he scores, gone for 18, England, 39 for two.
06:12Not easy following England in this tournament, the ups and downs of the World Cup.
06:19Ian Bell comes in at number four, England 39 for two.
06:23Nearly 11 overs gone, they've got a good player of spin coming in, they need one.
06:30Anxious time again.
06:33Razak with a little bit of flight and spin.
06:37That's a pretty good pitcher for especially the slow bowlers.
06:43Just held it back and a little bit of turn, he was out of his crease.
06:47Good worker once again from Jeanette Siddiqui at slip.
06:49He stared, don't you, the third man.
06:50He was a bit lethargic from Jeanette Siddiqui. I think he didn't pick himself up, try to dive for that ball as we see it being guided down nicely away from Jeanette Siddiqui.
07:02But his effort, there you see, he's still lying there. By the time he gets up and chases the ball in, the last man threw for three runs.
07:19He's looking for somebody else to do the chasing, there was nobody there.
07:25I was just going to say it's a good idea, Bangladesh keep the slip in, but he's just moved him out now.
07:43You can keep the slip in as long as you can against England.
07:46Oh, just chipped in the air, there's a catch, easy as you like, England three down.
07:59Well, England have really played into the hands of Bangladesh here. Softest of dismissals, much to the delight of the crowd.
08:09Look at that, little bit of a chip shot is neither here nor there. An easy catch, catch practice for Naim Islam.
08:17He's not going to mess that, gobbles it up, and England lose their third wickets.
08:22It's an important one off, Ian Balczek's head, but he's got to take the long walk back. For five, England 53 for three.
08:31Oi, Morgan. Back into England's team with a job to do. Plenty of overs.
08:38Into the 17th over, some woeful batting by England. Unbelievable stuff, 53 for three.
08:45Mamadullah getting the breakthrough, that is the wicket, the pretty soft dismissal of Ian Bell.
09:04I haven't seen anything like that for a long time.
09:0817 overs, 54 for three.
09:16Morgan down the pitch and hits it well. Won't go all the way.
09:20He's hit it well enough, and a welcome boundary for him and for England.
09:25It hasn't been a boundary for a long time, but Owen Morgan, you'd expect to do something like that.
09:31Just dancing down the wicket, little sachet down the wicket, and then lofts it over the top.
09:36Very confident-looking shot.
09:40As Shakib replaces Razak.
09:42Morgan again goes over the top. This is a beautiful shot.
09:46No great effort in the stroke.
09:48But he's a nail to Shakib that he's not going to let him settle.
09:52Yeah, the first ball, and Morgan had made up his mind to go for that shot. It was in the slot.
09:58Just chipped by Morgan, but it's chipped all the way for four.
10:06I don't think he was really looking for a boundary there, he was just looking for a chip for two.
10:12He timed it so well.
10:14He's prepared to use his feet, and I think that's the one thing England haven't done.
10:20The batsmen, they're all anchored to the crease.
10:23Quite surprising.
10:25Morgan will definitely use his feet, and that, as you say, I think that was just a chip that he middled very well.
10:31Once you do use your feet, you get more value for your back-foot shots as well as the bowl has dropped short.
10:40Eight to two for three.
10:45That's a short ball, and Morgan is quickly into position.
10:49Should be tight.
10:57Oh, direct hit, and I think Trott was struggling.
11:00I think he's OK, we'll take another look, but he was treading water for a while.
11:07I'm pretty sure he gets home.
11:10I think there's a problem here, direct hit, as you say, might have been a different story.
11:19It's tight.
11:25At that point, he's very difficult for the umpire.
11:29It's right on that frame.
11:34I think Jonathan Trott is going to get lucky here.
11:36I suspect in between frames he might be struggling, but on what the evidence that we can see,
11:42I think it's going to be difficult for the third umpire to give this out.
11:45The direct hit, he was gone by two yards.
11:48It shows the difference that a direct hit makes, but I think he's going to be OK,
11:54because on the frame that we can see, the point at which we can see the bails coming off,
11:59Trott's back his home.
12:03As you say quite rightly, I'm not certain he's available for the umpire.
12:07The decision is not out, and not much else he can do about that.
12:12Don't think it carried.
12:16But it was very, very close to Mushvika.
12:21I think you're right, I think it does carry.
12:26Play with soft hands, isn't it?
12:28Yeah, it's one of those, probably would have been on the half volley.
12:41Oh, that's good batting.
12:42Very good batting.
12:43Gets the reverse sweep away.
12:45Won't go for four, shouldn't go for four, doesn't.
12:48Good piece of fielding, that's 104 for three.
13:05Tucked away nicely, he's very strong off his hip.
13:07Four more.
13:09Four more.
13:14Fine sweep.
13:19Just takes the right shot option virtually every time.
13:22No, that's not good fielding.
13:24Very lazy fielding from Razak.
13:30Very full with Morgan.
13:31Oh, that's beautifully placed.
13:33Timing's good.
13:34Another boundary.
13:36Replacement's excellent.
13:37The game prepared to use his feet.
13:43There you go.
13:44That turns what would have been perhaps a Yorker into a low full toss.
13:48Gets four runs for his efforts.
13:50Down the ground, not a catch.
13:58The crowd thought so, but he whacked it into the ground.
14:01Decent over, 126 for three.
14:07Oh, it's a beauty.
14:09Was there an edge?
14:10Reviewing it for the edge.
14:14Very difficult to tell an edge on review, but Shakib immediately thought there was an edge.
14:19He says bat.
14:28No, I think that's hit the pad.
14:30He can review it for everything, remember?
14:33The umpire is allowed to use all types of dismissal.
14:40Did he catch the ball?
14:41Did the keeper actually catch the ball?
14:43Keepers dropped the ball, so it's got to be for LBW.
14:54So now they will check for LBW.
14:56On-field call, which is not out.
15:06Now was the on-field call for the edge or the LBW?
15:14Got to be given, not out.
15:15Just got to be given, not out.
15:17It's with the on-field umpire.
15:21Wasn't hitting off-stump on enough.
15:26And so it stays with the on-field umpire.
15:28Morgan moves to 50, once again, that's his 11.50.
15:37Four centuries also for Morgan.
15:42Schooling runs under pressure.
15:43There he goes, that's another 50 for Jonathan Trott.
15:56It's his 10th 50.
15:58Also three centuries, he's so consistent.
16:01Rapturous applause in the crowd.
16:05Not a murmur.
16:06He's played well. He's played really well.
16:15Lofted.
16:17Into the leg side.
16:18Couple of bounces, four.
16:20Nine from the over, 1.56 for three.
16:29Swept into the leg side, fielded down there.
16:31That's a brilliant catch, it really is.
16:33Imrul Khais takes the catch, and it does carry.
16:38I think it does carry, and that is a similar kind of catch we saw.
16:42Tami Mikval taking Dhaka.
16:44Superb work by Imrul Khais.
16:46Had to cover a lot of ground, came in.
16:48The ball was dying on him.
16:50And the danger man, Owen Morgan,
16:53is maybe initially thought of going for a review
16:56if the catch was taken cleanly.
16:58I think it was.
16:59Here it is, just dying on him.
17:00It grabs on with both hands.
17:01And that's a superb take from Imrul Khais.
17:05The danger man is gone.
17:06Owen Morgan goes for six to three.
17:08England, one hundred and sixty-two for four.
17:15Rabia Bapara is in at number six.
17:17A partnership of 109 between Trott and the excellent Owen Morgan.
17:21Just being broken.
17:22That wasn't the most controlled of shots.
17:31Was in the air for a while.
17:33Oh, desperate effort by the Imrul Khais there.
17:37But just unfortunate the ball going over to the ropes by another four rounds.
17:41They've taken the batting power play as David Lloyd goes off for another rickshaw ride.
17:50And I'm joined by Michael Atherton.
17:52Michael Atherton.
17:56Now this should be out.
17:57It is out.
17:58Very simply taken.
18:00Good times these for Bangladesh.
18:01Good time for Shaqib.
18:03He's picked up Trott.
18:04And England have lost their fifth wicket.
18:06Well, that was on the cards.
18:07England trying to hit their way out of trouble though.
18:10Getting bogged down by some excellent bowling by Razak and Shaqib Olai-san.
18:15Tried to cloud it out of the ground.
18:17Playing away from his body.
18:18Getting a thickish top part of the bat.
18:20And Junaid Siddiqui just comes in and hangs on to the catch quite comfortably.
18:26Shaqib does it for his country.
18:28And England are in a spot of bother.
18:31With Jonathan Trott gone for sixty-seven.
18:33One hundred and eighty-two for five England.
18:35And England.
18:38Graham Swan, maybe he's been brought in to try and take advantage of the powerplay overs.
18:43And he does, first ball.
18:44An audacious reverse sweep from Swan.
18:49One eighty-seven for five.
18:55For everybody up inside the circle because we're in that batting powerplay
19:00and Shaqib has set the field straight and deep.
19:05One, two, three.
19:06One, two, three.
19:08Gone.
19:09Papara goes, in truth, he never really got going.
19:14He's found the conditions difficult.
19:15Naeem is the catcher, Razak the bowler.
19:17And that's his second wicket.
19:21Well, Papara was struggling.
19:22He was trying to hit it away.
19:23The ball was keeping a shade low.
19:26Was not in control.
19:27And just put it safely in the hands of Naeem Islam.
19:32And that is a big stride for the elder statesman of the Bangladesh team.
19:36Abdul Razak, Ravi Bapara going for 16.
19:39England 195 for six.
19:45Paul Collingwood now at number eight for England.
19:51Did that come off the pad?
19:52Either be a wide or a leg by.
19:57Wide given, it came off nothing.
20:06Minhoff is up, well struck.
20:08Graham Swan playing with a bit of freedom.
20:10Swann reverse sweeps in the air, this will be out.
20:18Shaqib takes the catch.
20:21No blame attached to Swann, he was looking to pick the area at deep mid wicket.
20:25He's gone now, and England are seven down.
20:27One down.
20:38Well, it's another dismissal.
20:40It's another wicket down, seven now.
20:44Shaqib, no, he was never going to drop it.
20:47Well, I found it tough enough, back and right handed.
20:49There you go.
20:50Graham Swan has gone for 12 from eight.
20:52England lose their seventh for 209.
20:57Bresnan hurrying back for the second now then.
21:08Don't think the ball was in his hand.
21:10Had it been, I'm sure Bresnan was struggling.
21:15Yeah, but it wasn't an easy one for the bowler to take this.
21:18It's thrown hard, but it's dying on him.
21:21It's just dying as he comes running in.
21:23Now he's the man feeling it.
21:25Actually, it's a better throw than I thought.
21:26He just had to take it.
21:28Well, that's a miss.
21:37Should be gone.
21:38It's gone.
21:40Sheffield the catcher at short, third man.
21:43Bresnan is hanging around, he thinks that's above waist height.
21:46There's going to be a chat here between Daryl Harper and Rod Tucker at square leg,
21:51but didn't see a signal from Rod Tucker to Daryl Harper.
21:59Let's have a look.
22:02That's out.
22:03That's out.
22:05It's not over waist height at all.
22:07Bresnan will have to go.
22:08I think the umpires are checking, but he's a goner.
22:17We'll check everything now, don't we?
22:18The first thing I'll do is check and see if it's a fair delivery.
22:24If there's any problems there, it's fine.
22:27Height?
22:29I think that's fine, I think it's a low full toss.
22:32I'm very surprised that the decision is not given.
22:34It is given.
22:37Nvar raises his finger.
22:40England are now eight down, Bresnan's gone.
22:43He's gone for two, 215 for eight.
22:49Shehzad can hit the ball, but not that one.
22:52England in danger of getting bowled out.
22:55Shehzad playing the big shot and he's lost his middle stump.
22:58She should hear the noise in this ground.
23:04And Chirigov.
23:08Well, missed everything that far, the middle stump about three quarters of the way up.
23:13Knocks it out the ground.
23:16Shehzad has to go.
23:18He's gone for one.
23:19England losing the plot, 217 for nine.
23:23Can Anderson get back for two?
23:28He's rushing, he's quick, is he quick enough?
23:31Yes.
23:34A-B rushing!
23:38Keeper's not happy.
23:39Wrong end, wasn't it?
23:40Because nowadays the non-striker just runs with the bowler.
23:48Absolutely.
23:52Absolutely.
23:58You watch Jimmy Anderson here.
24:00Bowler runs in, Anderson's off.
24:02So he could argue throw at Collingwood's end, Anderson goes.
24:06He wants two again, will it be Collingwood's end?
24:10Yes.
24:15Well, he got it to the right end, where the keeper wants it, but I'm pretty sure Collingwood's home.
24:23No celebrations from Bangladesh, which is your clue.
24:25Well, the problem with throwing at Collingwood's end is that the ball has further to travel.
24:32And he's home.
24:39Back in his crease, full toss.
24:43Again should be two.
24:45Collingwood struggling this time.
24:47That could be gone.
24:48Yes!
24:49Third time lucky for Bangladesh.
24:51Direct hit, that's what makes the difference.
24:55Now in again the fielder, he's fielded, even the pick of the fielders.
25:01The ground fielding and the throwing, but this one is a direct hit, end of story all over.
25:08Watch this, picks it up cleanly, one-handed.
25:11But on the bounce, where is Paul Collingwood?
25:19Brilliant bit of fielding in the deep.
25:21Finally they stop England coming back.
25:24For the second run.
25:25Marmadula on that case with a direct hit, but Anderson was not out.
25:30Collingwood run out for 14.
25:32England make 225.
25:34So another unconvincing performance by England with the bats, saw them bowled out in the final over of their 50 for 225.
25:45It was certainly below par, but may be defendable.
25:49Especially if they could knock over Tammy McBal early.
25:51Trot was steady, if slow.
25:53Morgan outstanding, just to pity their partnership couldn't last longer.
25:57For the Bangladesh bowlers, pace off the ball was the key to it.
26:02Loads of spin with Abdur-Razak, the pick of the bowlers.
26:04So next, it's the Bangladesh run chase, as they set about scoring 226 to throw Group B wide open.
26:11A stop start affair for England in Chittagong saw runs hard to come by.
26:26Spin caused problems early on, and it was only the returning Morgan who showed any fluency.
26:31Trot also got to 50, but both fell as England looked to push on.
26:34And in the end, it was all a bit of a scramble to get to 225.
26:40Well, they defended successfully with less to work with against South Africa.
26:43Could they do it again?
26:45Here's the run chase.
26:55Couple here.
27:04Graham Swan, the only spinner in the English attack.
27:09So they'll have a close look, and just look at that, a little bit of dew.
27:17Good wristy shot again into the leg side.
27:22Timing, look at the timing, brilliant.
27:25Morgan the fielder, Vapara alongside him.
27:35Shorten, whipped round into the leg side, bad miss.
27:41He won't like it, England won't like it, 16 without loss.
27:48Long line again, that's where he's been.
27:54From around the wickets, he's asking the ball to do far too much from leg and middle.
27:59Bangladesh with an excellent start here into the fourth, over 21 on the board.
28:09Good touch.
28:11Nice flick off his pads.
28:14Wrong line, because way down the legs are given an opportunity for someone like Tami Mkbal to just pick up easy runs.
28:25Lovely timing.
28:26The ball scutters along this outfield.
28:32Tim Breslin with the field in three.
28:36There's another.
28:38Ends the fifth over.
28:40Nice there, 30 without loss.
28:43There's a little bit more offside, classical shot driven down the ground, full length delivery.
28:57England getting a chasing at this stage.
28:59What a superb shot that was.
29:03Really on top of that full face of the back.
29:06And off it went.
29:08Perfect timing, no chance for that fieler chasing it.
29:12Good seam position, but Emeril Kay is showing how to drive straight back past the bowler.
29:18Excellent shot.
29:19Terrific shot.
29:20One bounce into the picket.
29:24Beautiful drive, flowing drive through the offside, stand and deliver.
29:37Seven overs have been balled, 46 without loss.
29:45Driven hard.
29:47And through the offside and the 50 comes up.
29:5150 coming up in quick time, we're only into the eighth over, it took England more than 15 to get to that mark.
29:56Now is that an edge?
30:05Or is it pad?
30:08Tim Bresner saying he's not sure, so I'm not sure England are going to review this.
30:13Although Tamim is a key player.
30:19In that instance, the impetus must come from the wicketkeeper, the wicketkeeper knows better than anybody.
30:24That's good.
30:27Definite sound, but obviously the English players feel that they didn't get a touch.
30:33There's an appeal initially, let's have a look where the sound came from.
30:36Just possibly flicking the back, flicking the top of the pads.
30:44Bowled in, that's straight enough.
30:47And there's silence around the ground as the key man goes.
30:50Tamim Iqbal bowled by Bresnan for 38.
30:54That expression tells the story.
30:57It was a superb delivery, but it was on line with the stumps.
31:00Tamim Iqbal just not coming down quickly enough on that.
31:04Getting past his defences and Strauss is elated.
31:09Big, big wicket, and so is Bresnan.
31:11Very crucial wicket of Tamim Iqbal goes.
31:15He walks back after scoring 38, and Bangladesh are 52 for one.
31:19Junaid Siddiqui replaces Tamim Iqbal at number three.
31:27Bit of blow that for Bangladesh, with Tamim looking in good form.
31:31I don't know how often we'll see this, Swan clearly not happy with the state of the ball.
31:40And that's a big juicy full toss.
31:41You wouldn't often see Swan bowl a full toss like that.
31:45Well the Bangladeshi batsmen don't mind at all.
31:47Junaid Siddiqui coming in and offered a freebie there.
31:51Obviously he couldn't grip the ball properly.
31:54Didn't seem to slip out of his fingers.
31:57Look at that.
31:58Couldn't get the revolutions he'd wanted.
32:01And of course definitely not the length he wanted.
32:03Very annoyed.
32:07No slip.
32:08No slip in place.
32:11I think first slip would have gobbled that up.
32:13Well, the position England are in now, I think they'll possibly not have a slip more on the defence.
32:21And that has allowed Junaid Siddiqui, maybe he'll claim it deliberately played, but it was in the air.
32:27And as you said, it could have been taken by the slipper.
32:38Oh, now a direct hit.
32:40Rod Tucker calls for the third umpire to have a look at this.
32:45And England look confident.
32:47It was a brilliant throw on the turn.
32:51I think this is a little like...
32:57There it is, yeah.
32:59The bails off with the bat just short of the line.
33:04Bails have to be fully out of the groove.
33:06I should think...
33:07Well, is it fully out of the grooves there?
33:08Well, how much further do you want it?
33:09Doing a somersault.
33:10Have a look.
33:11Watch, this is the thing.
33:12Now, I reckon that's dislodged.
33:13Totally out of the groove, I think, is...
33:14Has to be.
33:15Common sense suggests that it's...
33:17Going to be given out, but we shall see.
33:19Have a look. Watch, this is the thing. Now I reckon that's dislodged.
33:28Totally out of the groove I think is... has to be.
33:36Common sense suggests that it's going to be given out, but we shall see.
33:49Decision will be given out, I suspect.
33:58Yeah, it is. Brilliant bit of fielding.
34:01The direct hit we saw on a number of occasions.
34:05When England were batting, how important a direct hit is.
34:09It's often the difference between out and not out.
34:12The direct hit was done for Junaid Siddiqui. Gone for 12, 70 for two.
34:18Tamim gone and Junaid Siddiqui gone.
34:20Raqibul Hassan at number four to partner Imrel Kayes.
34:25Is this the first sign or inkling of a wobble from Bangladesh?
34:30They've done most things right tonight so far,
34:32and they're still in a very good position in the game.
34:39Bowled in! Top of off stamp, what a beauty.
34:43Good move, Strauss. Great bowling, Shehzad.
34:46Now England are back into this game.
34:49Now England are back into this game.
34:59Top of off stamp.
35:05Raqibul Hassan, well he's gone.
35:07Troubling the scores.
35:14Bangladesh captain comes out at number five under pressure.
35:1773 for three, it was 70 for one.
35:22So two quick wickets and a very silent crowd.
35:26England have silenced this crowd.
35:28Oh, that's poor.
35:34Poor from Shehzad, poor from Pryor.
35:39Poor England.
35:41Really is as wide as first of all.
35:44And it's not taken.
35:45Just short of the bowler there.
35:54Very difficult for Shehzad to go down on his follow-through.
35:58He went through the shot, I thought it might just have carried it.
36:02Just have to wait and see, did it carry to the bowler?
36:06To the bowler.
36:08Split with the straight back.
36:11Yeah, didn't bend down enough.
36:16Two straight again, Ravi Bokhara.
36:21Four more.
36:22Beautiful shot down the ground and the ball gathers pace,
36:34gathers momentum, sweet timing.
36:38Shot of the day so far for me.
36:40Beautiful shot.
36:46Driven, beautiful shot through extra cover.
36:48Captain's in command out there.
36:57Driven again.
37:03All happening out there, it's 111 for three.
37:11Sensible play.
37:15Come back for two and get there.
37:16Yes, I'm sure that they do.
37:19Nothing from the umpire, it's 123 for three.
37:27Back, back, back!
37:29That's all in the gap.
37:30I don't think it'll go all the way,
37:31but there should be two and possibly three.
37:33Have to run hard, they'll get the three.
37:35Three precious runs.
37:36Skimpling through for a second.
37:52And 50 to Emeril Kayes, what an important 50 this has been.
37:55You just have to play a second-hand at the start as Tammy Mikval blazed away,
38:00but it's the Emeril Kayes shown out.
38:08It's a nice way to bring up your thousandth run in one-day internationals.
38:11Oh, the runs are coming easily, it's time for a change, I think, Tim Bresman.
38:24Oh, now!
38:25That is a terrible run, surely!
38:27England like this, and from Bangladesh's perspective, I don't like their chances here.
38:33Well, they've taken on one of the strongest, stronger arms in the side,
38:36and I think this is out, I think it's a shocking run.
38:40Why?
38:42They're cruising.
38:45Oh, smiles, not even close.
38:47He's got to go, he's played well for 60.
38:58That's the wicket that England wanted, 155 for four.
39:07Wish for go Raheem comes out, just 22 years of age, number six.
39:13England got a real bonus there, crazy running.
39:18Was there an inside edge there?
39:22I think there was an inside edge.
39:25Possibly going down, but...
39:27England thinking about reviewing it, I heard two noises.
39:31Yep, Strauss does review it.
39:33Well, I'm not sure it's the ball hitting the bat, whether it's the bat hitting the boot,
39:38but there is two noises, I agree with you there.
39:47Well, I think that's going on maybe to clip leg stump, but remember, the on-field decision is not out.
39:55So this has got to be hitting leg stump cleanly.
39:58Over 50% of the ball, is that right, Nas?
40:03Absolutely.
40:04We had one earlier that was about 49% that went Bangladesh's way.
40:07I think that's going down.
40:09Don't worry about percentages.
40:110% hitting the stump.
40:12Not out.
40:13Not out.
40:19Well, he's dragged it on, pressure was building, it was always coming.
40:23Swann with the wicket, key man as well, Bangladeshi captain's gone.
40:34It's Graeme Swann who's picked up the big fish.
40:38My word.
40:39Went for the swift, big inside edge, and onto the stumps.
40:43Look at Swann, absolutely delighted, and why not?
40:46They've not only picked one wicket, they've picked up another one.
40:49The captain goes back for 32.
40:52Bangladesh, 162 for five.
40:58Mamadulla, the new batsman, and Bangladesh needs something special from their number seven.
41:04Captain's gone.
41:06Raheem struggling, two from 18 deliveries.
41:08They need someone just to get a bit of momentum back.
41:15That leaves the nerves and the pressure.
41:17The crowd are awake again.
41:22It was up-ish, but finds the gap.
41:26And the crowd loves it.
41:29And the crowd loves it.
41:32Finally getting the gap and even though going up in the air, but away from that feeler inside the circle.
41:42Enough on the bat to fudge a boundary.
41:54Was there an edge there? I think there was.
41:58He's walked.
42:00Bangladesh collapsing in a heap.
42:01Unbelievable.
42:07That's exactly what the feelings are, especially if you're a local supporter.
42:11But what a delivery.
42:13Just swung in really late.
42:15Squared him up.
42:16Lovely.
42:17Very good catch from Matt Prior.
42:19Low down to his right.
42:20And a very happy Ajmal Shahzad.
42:23Taking up a victory of Mushfiq Rahim.
42:27Trots back to the pavilion for six.
42:29Bangladesh.
42:30166 for six.
42:31Naeem Islam coming in at number eight in a crisis.
42:37Bangladesh.
42:38155 for four.
42:40155 for five.
42:43162.
42:44166 for six.
42:47They've just collapsed.
42:48Silence in the crowd.
42:50That was a beauty from Shahzad though.
42:52Nothing wrong with the shot.
42:54Oh, bowling with an absolute jaffer.
42:59That is a real beauty, Shahzad.
43:02Takes his third wicket.
43:04Well, he's certainly on song.
43:08State of shock from the spectator, but what a beauty.
43:12Good seam position, holding its line and hanging on top of the off-stump.
43:17Superb delivery.
43:18And he knows it.
43:20He is looking very, very dangerous.
43:27Naeem Islam out for no score.
43:29Bangladesh.
43:30166 for seven.
43:35Well, there's been a clatter of wickets.
43:37Abdul Razak in at number nine.
43:39166 for seven.
43:40It's been all England in this last 20 minutes or so.
43:47There's another.
43:48I love it.
43:49It's in the area.
43:58Oh, high shot.
44:00Deep into the outfield.
44:04Oh, what a catch.
44:05Bresnan out there at deep long gone.
44:07He had a long, long way to go.
44:09This is a brilliant catch.
44:10And it's the pressure one more time, man.
44:13Getting the better of Abdul Razak hitting one in the air.
44:17And my word, that was a really good catch.
44:20He had to run all the way, a long way to his left.
44:23Keep the eyes on the ball and took it very nicely in the end.
44:27Fantastic catch to pick up another wicket.
44:29England on the charge then, Bresnan with an outstanding catch.
44:39Swan gets another wicket.
44:41Razak has gone for one, it's 169 for eight.
44:44This innings is subsiding.
44:49Do they believe Bangladesh?
44:51They need 57 from 62.
44:53Shafial Islam.
44:54Tender age of 21.
44:57Young kid in.
44:58at number ten.
45:03Cheeky.
45:04And it works.
45:07Anderson on the charge, it'll need a dive.
45:09Ball wins.
45:17Big shot.
45:21Welcome boundary.
45:23Crowd comes alive again.
45:25Whatever of them are left in the ground.
45:28A lot of them have left the ground.
45:30But this was an invitation to Shafial to go for it.
45:34Bringing in the fielder at cover.
45:37But he played that exceedingly well.
45:39Really got underneath that one.
45:43Oh, have a goal there.
45:45Deep again.
45:46Deep, deep, deep.
45:47Six.
45:50187 for eight.
45:55146s in the tournament.
46:01And counting.
46:02Have a look at this one.
46:03First six of the match.
46:05From the bat of Shafial Islam.
46:07After hitting that boundary, he's got it.
46:09The distance.
46:10And Bangladesh supporters have at last.
46:15Got a bit of relief.
46:16But they've got to carry on.
46:17Swan punished in this over.
46:19Slider down the leg side.
46:20Will run away for four.
46:21Welcome, Banria.
46:22Wide and four runs.
46:23Five.
46:24Very, very precious runs to Bangladesh.
46:25And James Anderson.
46:26Really must be cursing himself for that delivery.
46:27Oh, balled another down the leg side.
46:28Anderson.
46:29Damage.
46:30These are real damage to England.
46:31And another.
46:32What is going on out there.
46:33Another wide.
46:34They're racking these up to England.
46:35Four runs.
46:36Four runs.
46:37Five.
46:38Five.
46:39Very, very precious runs to Bangladesh.
46:40And James Anderson.
46:41Really must be cursing himself for that delivery.
46:43Oh, balled another down the leg side.
46:45Anderson.
46:46Damage.
46:47These are real damage to England.
46:49And another.
46:50What is going on out there.
46:51Another wide.
46:52They're racking these up.
46:5324 required from 27.
46:54Big shot.
46:55High in the air.
46:56Does he get lucky?
46:57I'm sure he does.
46:58The ball pitches and skips away.
46:59And he's gone for four.
47:02Shafil Islam.
47:03Has struck one.
47:04Fortune favours the brave as they say.
47:05He sliced it.
47:06The ball seemed to be going to a fielder.
47:07But it fell into no man's land.
47:08He had a lot of power to that.
47:09Look, I'm sure he does. The ball pitches and skips away, and he's gone for four.
47:18Shafi'l Islam has struck one.
47:21Fortune favours the brave, as they say.
47:23He sliced it, the ball seemed to be going to a fielder,
47:26but it fell into no-man's land, he had a lot of power to that,
47:29shaping the plate away through the cutters, but slicing it,
47:32and eventually, Dawken Trot going towards it, it couldn't draw it back in.
47:36And four very, very precious runs to Bangladesh.
47:43Full toss, creamed away for four, Bangladesh on the brink here.
47:54Big shot driven, powerfully down the ground, into single figures, what a shot!
48:01Take that, James Anderson, says Shafi'l Islam thrashes the ball past the bowler,
48:08and the 50 partnership comes up, this is great to watch.
48:12Look at this, from Shafi'l, right behind that, full floor of the bat.
48:17James Anderson didn't have a chance, off it went to the boundary.
48:20Crisp shot, beats mid-off in the air.
48:25Seven to win, start the tuk-tuk.
48:35Edged away, just for a single.
48:37Ever near of Bangladesh.
48:39What have you got, England?
48:41It needs a little bit of magic from somewhere, the ball's doing nothing.
48:45I think, again, they're finding it difficult to grip.
48:48There was a period when Shahzad got hold of the ball and hit that good length zone,
48:53and he moved the ball around, not the pitch.
48:55It's not happened for Bresnan Anderson.
48:58What a turnaround.
49:00This game has had his ups and downs right the way through.
49:03England dominating at one stage, then falling apart,
49:06getting bowled out for 225.
49:08Bangladesh starting off well, seem to be cruising,
49:11and then a cluster of wickets,
49:13and then this rearguard action from Mahmoudullah and Sheffield.
49:16Can they do it for Bangladesh?
49:18Got the ball.
49:22Now, Bresnan has just asked for a slip.
49:26He's questioned, Andrew Strauss,
49:29should we not have a slip?
49:30England need two wickets.
49:32They're not stopping Bangladesh scoring scrambling three from somewhere.
49:36Eight deliveries to goal.
49:38Mahmoudullah is on strike, he's 17,
49:41and there isn't a slip, he's asked him for one.
49:48Down the pitch and looking for a single, a precious single.
49:54Another dot ball, three required still.
49:57Pretty positive intent short there by Mahmoudullah,
49:59charging down the wicket, trying to take on Bresnan.
50:02He saw him coming, just dropped the ball short.
50:04It's getting more and more tense as the dot balls come along.
50:09Mahmoudullah on 17 of 41 balls, very sensible knock.
50:13His teammates tensed up, praying.
50:17Look at that.
50:23Full length.
50:24Oh, this should be it.
50:26What a victory this has been, Bangladesh.
50:29Mahmoudullah hits the ball for four.
50:31Players crowd onto the pitch, charge on, what a victory.
50:35Wonderful partnership, 58 from 56.
50:38Bangladesh get home.
50:40Take a bow, Mahmoudullah and Sheffield Islam.
50:44From a point where Bangladesh is seeming to have lost this match,
50:48they've built up a fabulous partnership.
50:50This is Bangladesh's second one international win over England in 15 meetings.
50:55And Bangladesh go on to collect four points.
50:57Bangladesh winning this cliffhanger of the match by two wickets.
51:01So, a great day for Bangladesh, absolutely no doubt about that.
51:08A poor one again for England.
51:10It did look at one stage as though they might escape when Bangladesh lost five for 14.
51:14But Emerald Caves was very important at the top.
51:17And then when that partnership between Mahmoudullah and Sheffield Islam got going,
51:21they showed great maturity.
51:23And that, basically, was that.
51:25Now, the most disappointing thing about these bowling figures are the wides that England bowled.
51:2923 against the eight that Bangladesh conceded.
51:32And they also lost the plot in the middle overs when the Jews seemed to distract them from the job in hand.
51:36Once again, there were problems for James Anderson.
51:39Take nothing away from the home side, though.
51:42After being bowled out for 58 by the West Indies and being lambasted by their home fans,
51:46this was a great comeback.
51:48Not that that was any consolation for a hugely disappointed Andrew Strauss,
51:51as Mike Atherton found out at the presentation.
51:56Andrew, you can still qualify, but you're making life mighty hard for yourselves.
52:00Yeah, absolutely.
52:01I mean, you know, we wanted to win this game and win it well.
52:04We struggled a little bit with the bat, although I thought 225 was a competitive total.
52:10We needed to bowl and field well.
52:12Didn't do that as well as we would have liked.
52:14You know, we got ourselves in a great position to win the game there.
52:17At the end, we couldn't take those final two wickets.
52:19So, look, we're bitterly disappointed.
52:21You have to bounce back well against the West Indies.
52:24Which was the least good area of the game, the batting or the bowling?
52:27A little bit of both.
52:28I think, you know, losing those three wickets quite early,
52:33was a big mistake for us.
52:35And also our bowling with the new ball could have been a lot better than it was.
52:39But, you know, we fought hard.
52:41We got ourselves in a position to win the game,
52:43but we weren't able to nail the final nail in the coffin.
52:46Those 23 wides in the end, very costly indeed for you.
52:49Yeah, absolutely.
52:50I mean, in a low-scoring game, you can't afford that money.
52:53So, we're very disappointed.
52:54You know, this is a real missed opportunity for us, I think.
52:58But you can't dwell on it too long.
53:00You've got to look forward.
53:02Shaqib, congratulations.
53:03They were stoning your house last week.
53:05They'll probably build your new one tomorrow, won't they?
53:07Yeah, we'll probably have to build a new one.
53:09I thought Mahmoudullah and Shofield batted exceptionally well.
53:13One stage we thought we lost the game.
53:15But they just showed their character, how tough they are,
53:19and how hard they were working, so that paid off.
53:23At 169 for eight, did you think the game had gone?
53:26Certainly a lot of the crowd did.
53:27They were exiting in large numbers.
53:29Well, one stage I thought we lost the game,
53:32but they just played outstandingly.
53:35Can't describe how well they batted.
53:39Can you believe how well Sheffield played at the end there?
53:42When they hit the last ball there, I believed it.
53:44Before that, I never believed they could win the game.
53:47Incredible scenes, I've got to tell you.
53:48They were hugging in the press box,
53:50and all the security guards were hugging over there.
53:52Clearly, this means an immense amount to the people here.
53:55Yes, it means a hell of a lot to the whole country.
53:58We all know that we are very emotional about the crickets,
54:02and every time we do well, they are just like that.
54:05So, it was a great win for us,
54:08and hopefully we'll kick on from here.
