00:00:00Jane Watson at the top of the order has done pretty well for Australia and
00:00:04opening with him is Brad Haddon, an Australian wicket-keeper who's pretty
00:00:09aggressive in his approach.
00:00:20It is carrying, carrying towards the feet of the wicket-keeper.
00:00:26No, just a loose nut to start up for Boful.
00:00:42Yeah, they're off the mark then, the Australians on the board.
00:00:45It's gone fine, gone very fine.
00:00:56Lots of work, too much work for fine leg, four runs.
00:01:00Well, that's the only problem because if you're bowling sharpish as Boful is doing, then you've
00:01:06got to be pretty accurate.
00:01:07If you're going to go on the pads and even a little bit of a deflection off the bat or the
00:01:11pads, it's going to go for runs, go for boundaries.
00:01:13And that's exactly what's happening.
00:01:15In any case, modern captains don't keep a deep fine leg.
00:01:18They tend to keep the fine leg a little squarer.
00:01:20And that makes it very difficult for that fieler to run to his right and save the boundary,
00:01:27save the deflection.
00:01:30Gets the single.
00:01:35Gets the single.
00:01:45Oopsie.
00:01:46Come on!
00:01:50Not the fleetest of foot.
00:01:52Raymond Price is upset with himself because that was one for him to field.
00:01:56Absolutely nobody else to blame.
00:01:58He got there.
00:01:59He did all the hard work of getting there and then punched it past the post.
00:02:08Well, that's well fielded.
00:02:09It's the end of the over as well.
00:02:11Fifteen for none.
00:02:18Well, that's good running by Watson.
00:02:21I think he was home.
00:02:23The tender Tybu very quick to come up and had a go at the stumps.
00:02:27Watson seemed to me to be OK.
00:02:29Let's have a look.
00:02:31Yes, I think it was his call because he knew he was going to go to the danger end.
00:02:35But maybe if Tybu had got a proper grip off the ball,
00:02:40might have been able to throw it more quickly.
00:02:44Well, that's well fielded.
00:02:49Mid-wicket moving across just a little bit,
00:02:51realising that there was one if he didn't stop that one.
00:02:54He did.
00:02:55It's the end of the over.
00:02:56Nineteen for nine.
00:02:57Well, another good over.
00:03:04Another good over.
00:03:05Another good over.
00:03:06From Mpufu.
00:03:15Already seen New Zealand do it.
00:03:17That's very well played.
00:03:18That's a lovely cover drive.
00:03:20Well, I mentioned that this outfield was beautiful.
00:03:24Have a look at that one roll.
00:03:29Finally a half folly coming the batsman's way and quick to take advantage of it.
00:03:35Just giving himself a little bit of room.
00:03:37Didn't go to the pitch of the ball but just moved his front foot away so he could hit it with the turn.
00:03:42Yes, that's Haddon's way.
00:03:47He likes, he likes to give it a little bit of room.
00:03:51That was a lovely shot.
00:04:00That's good running.
00:04:02Nice placement and positive calling.
00:04:04It's 28 for none.
00:04:11Oh, and that must have been pretty close to the stumps.
00:04:16Just judging by the way that the keeper had responded there.
00:04:22Did that hit the stumps?
00:04:23Bales perhaps not fall off?
00:04:25Let's see if we can pick it up.
00:04:28We'll have a look in a moment.
00:04:29It's 32 for none.
00:04:34Haddon got himself into a bit of a tangle.
00:04:36It does look as though it's come to rest against the middle stump.
00:04:40He's got the inside edge onto the inside part of his thigh.
00:04:47And it has hit the middle stump.
00:04:50Obviously not very firmly.
00:04:53Fortunately for Haddon, it hasn't dislodged the Bales.
00:04:57And that'll be a boundary to Watson.
00:05:04Yeah, Alistair Campbell, former Zimbabwean captain,
00:05:07moves into the commentary position.
00:05:09Good afternoon, Alistair.
00:05:10Good afternoon, Ciappelli.
00:05:12Australia going along.
00:05:1436 for no.
00:05:15We've got a boundary there.
00:05:17Just straying onto the leg stump, Christopher Impofu.
00:05:20And Shane Watson helping himself.
00:05:23Up in the circle.
00:05:24So once he got it past him, Raymond Price is the man there.
00:05:27It was always going to go away to the fence for four.
00:05:29Bludgeoned away over mid-wicket.
00:05:39Too short from Impofu.
00:05:41Prospertsaya getting in very close at mid-wicket.
00:05:44Had no chance.
00:05:45Watson, well, is this the time that the floodgates open?
00:05:49It's one reason why he's so hard to stop.
00:05:54It looks as though Impofu attempting to bowl off cutters.
00:05:58Just rolling his wrist a little bit.
00:06:00But Watson will drive you down the ground if you over pitch.
00:06:04And if you're slightly short, he'll pull you through mid-wicket.
00:06:07So he's a very hard man to shut down.
00:06:19That's a shot that has got him out a bit.
00:06:21The late cut there that he's played to third man.
00:06:24He plays it well.
00:06:25But every now and again, if you get a bit of an off-cutter going,
00:06:29and that's what Impofu's attempting to do,
00:06:32he can get either a little knock-on,
00:06:35or if you get the top edge, carry through to the keeper or slip.
00:06:39Has got him out a few times, but he does pick up a lot of runs.
00:06:49That's over mid-on, but another boundary.
00:06:58This time, Haddon into the act.
00:07:00The two boundaries already conceded.
00:07:02Watson, both of them, this occasion.
00:07:04Haddon just giving himself a little bit of room
00:07:06and bludgeoning it over mid-on.
00:07:11Yeah, he doesn't like to be kept quiet for too long, Brad Haddon.
00:07:15Loves to keep the game moving.
00:07:17He's got a very attacking approach to the game of cricket.
00:07:20Doesn't matter what he's doing, whether it's batting, in the field.
00:07:23He's always thinking attack.
00:07:26It's one of the reasons why he's been pushed up to the top of the order.
00:07:31So he's a very hard man to keep quiet.
00:07:41Advancing down the wicket, Haddon.
00:07:43He's the captain.
00:07:45short one at the top of the order.
00:07:46Al pent above the order.
00:07:48An I'm poor fool saw him early.
00:07:50Decided to bowl the short one.
00:07:52Not a bad option at all at that particular stage.
00:07:53Not a bad option at all at that particular stage.
00:07:54Just begs the question here as well.
00:07:55As an I'm poor fool bowled his first five overs for fifteen.
00:07:58Then the captain decided to bring him poor fool on at this commentary box end.
00:08:00And then replace him at the other end.
00:08:02Once he had a rhythm.
00:08:04the back.
00:08:09And are starting an impressive
00:08:11power for the first half of the
00:08:13first half of the first half of the last half of the last half of the
00:08:14last half half of the last page.
00:08:16Very upsetting for the first bowler that he's bowling from one
00:08:19Why on earth would you want to take him off for a couple and then
00:08:21bring him on to the other end?
00:08:23Price was doing such a good job as well.
00:08:26And Chikungborough just needs to take charge.
00:08:28This is always going to happen after a very good start from
00:08:31one ball remaining it's got to make sure that uh they just finish it well as well as they can
00:08:37well that's over mid-off that's another boundary 17 off that over from a powerful 49 for none
00:08:47it's a very sweet timer of the ball brad hadn't and you see there i mean it's not even a full
00:08:53follow through just a couple of steps down the pitch and sort of a three-quarter follow through
00:09:00and yet it bounced just inside the rope very very sweet timer of the ball he's one of those
00:09:06guys he walks out to the crease and he'll hit the first ball in the middle of the bat and it'll go
00:09:11like a rocket that's uh very well fielded i thought for a while he had found the gap a lot of air given
00:09:24by it's a craig oven that mid off full length to his left pulls off a superb save
00:09:3756 for none
00:09:41he's quite a hard taskmaster uh raymond price you see there he's bashing the ground
00:09:47feeling as though he should have saved that single like all bowlers he doesn't like giving runs away
00:09:57a lot of desperation that's why you like to have those sort of guys in your side
00:10:03you know that it means something to them
00:10:04it's a very uh subdued start by the australians run rates only operating at 3.27 at the moment
00:10:15and they'll be very keen to uh start accelerating that shortly
00:10:21both batsmen are going to be keen to bat through as well
00:10:23whether or not it means something to mark history is it's a little you know it's better than
00:10:29it means something to mark history is there's a big appeal
00:10:30other than it is a big appeal is a big appeal now
00:10:44very voice overительist fromías of photocus from tatena tyboo behind the stamps
00:10:47to骧 behind the stamps and that's going through his mind he's going to the captain
00:10:50I'm going to take a look at the
00:10:52third-party system.
00:10:54The first time we have a
00:10:55third-party system is going to
00:10:57come into play.
00:10:59It's a ZIM review.
00:11:01The original decision not out.
00:11:03LBW call.
00:11:05First look at the no-ball.
00:11:07That's clearly behind the line.
00:11:09No problems there.
00:11:11That's the first area that the
00:11:13third umpire will have a look at.
00:11:15And then we'll have a look at
00:11:17where it hit.
00:11:19I don't know what I'm saying.
00:11:21I don't know what I'm saying.
00:11:23I don't know what I'm saying.
00:11:25Naked eye that looks to be pretty
00:11:27adjacent.
00:11:29This will give us a better idea from
00:11:31Hawkeye.
00:11:33It did turn.
00:11:35The impact was in line.
00:11:37And it is hitting.
00:11:39Halfway up middle and leg.
00:11:41So what will come back to the on
00:11:43field empire is that it is the
00:11:45impact is in line.
00:11:47It is hitting the wicket.
00:11:49Yep, the
00:11:51umpire is now communicating to the
00:11:53third umpire and there is a reversal.
00:11:55He's out. That's the end
00:11:57of Brad Haddon.
00:11:59Had the decision reversed.
00:12:01And it was quite clearly out when we had the
00:12:03benefit of television.
00:12:05He went to his captain to
00:12:07tender time who said I think we should review this
00:12:09and looked out to me and put his money where his mouth
00:12:11is and has been successful. Brad Haddon
00:12:13gone for 29. Australia now
00:12:1561 for one.
00:12:17Well one of the legends of the game at
00:12:19number 3 the Australian captain
00:12:21Russian captain Rickie Ponting.
00:12:23The most capped World Cup
00:12:25the most capped Worldcup player.
00:12:27And that's 40 matches he's played in Worldcup
00:12:29the age of 36 has been out with an injury, finger injury
00:12:31as Ricci Ponting.
00:12:33He's got the ball back to lead the fight for his country.
00:12:40Oh, yeah!
00:12:45That ball to end the 19th. 61 for one.
00:12:54Two straight again from Krimah. Just have to wait and see if
00:12:58there's any bad on that. Maybe just paired.
00:13:01He's got to be careful.
00:13:03He's got to be careful.
00:13:05He's got to be careful.
00:13:07I suppose as the ball gets a bit older as well,
00:13:10there will be a little bit of that reverse swing.
00:13:12It looks those conditions, doesn't it?
00:13:13The pitch.
00:13:15The pitch.
00:13:17And with Krimah, he might just get that in drift.
00:13:19So he's got to be very careful where he's aiming here.
00:13:21He's got to get at that off-stump line.
00:13:27That's a better line.
00:13:29I think he needs to be concentrating very much on a straight line.
00:13:33And this is the downfall for Brad Haddon.
00:13:36Found himself LBW.
00:13:38Just going back to a ball, looking to work to the leg.
00:13:41And missing it and being trapped right in front.
00:13:45Yeah, good start by Zimbabwe.
00:13:49Bit of a missed field there.
00:13:51Slight blemish, but by and large, things have gone well.
00:14:03Good fielding that, Raymond Price.
00:14:07Interesting, in the 22nd, or 23rd over,
00:14:12to one of the best players in the world,
00:14:14there's only three on the boundary,
00:14:16and they're all posted on the leg side.
00:14:18And on the off-side field, you know, there's a ring field
00:14:24with Midoff still in.
00:14:27Now, he's being pushed back now.
00:14:29So coming towards the end of the over,
00:14:31he's being pushed back to the boundary.
00:14:33But still, the Zimbabweans are on the attack.
00:14:41Whoa, this field.
00:14:42He's being upset with himself.
00:14:44Felton Chikumbura.
00:14:45Every little run, it counts.
00:14:49Everything's happened pretty quickly here.
00:14:51The over rate, 16.4 per hour.
00:14:54That's a long way ahead.
00:14:56It's more than two overs ahead.
00:14:59Nearly three.
00:15:02Shot, very good shot.
00:15:04Hit very hard down the ground.
00:15:06Watson's a strong lad, and he's got it away for four.
00:15:10Well, this is the Watson we're used to seeing
00:15:13over the past year or so.
00:15:15Been in terrific form.
00:15:17He's got a great technique, but he's also got immense power,
00:15:21and that's a great example.
00:15:23Off the back foot, punishing it down the ground
00:15:25and comfortably beating the deep fielders.
00:15:27And looking to repeat the dose, but only just getting the one on this occasion.
00:15:35And Australia, 79 for one.
00:15:39That's nicely played.
00:15:49Late glance.
00:15:51Worked really fine.
00:15:53An opportunity for three runs.
00:15:55Really good work, good running.
00:15:57Actually placed in the gap, and straight away the call was two.
00:16:11Ricky Ponting.
00:16:13That's been generally will pick their fielders.
00:16:15They'll know who is where, and as soon as they see who it is out there,
00:16:18know whether to turn back for a second or not.
00:16:33Through.
00:16:34It's a fast outfield.
00:16:36It'll be a tough chase for Prospo Zeya.
00:16:38They'll haul it in.
00:16:40It's a really good start this first half of the over.
00:16:46Getting six runs.
00:16:51Yeah, beautiful touch by the captain.
00:16:53Just waiting for that ball, running it off the face of the blade.
00:17:01Go on, Benz, go on, boy!
00:17:08Good shot, very good shot.
00:17:09What a way to get to 50.
00:17:11Beautiful work.
00:17:13And Watson.
00:17:14Loaded by the change room.
00:17:1998 for 1.
00:17:20Well, two straight on that occasion.
00:17:23Watson clicking that away to the leg side,
00:17:25and it's beaten the fieldsmen down there at deep backward square.
00:17:29.
00:17:35Well, two straight on that occasion. Watson clipping that away to the leg side,
00:17:39and it's beaten the fieldsman down there at deep backward square.
00:17:44And he picks off a four, beautifully timed off his pads.
00:17:52Very nice shot.
00:17:56He just had to get the gap to perfection, and that's exactly what happened.
00:18:02Oh, well played in the end.
00:18:06Left his crease and was down the wicket.
00:18:09Ricky punting.
00:18:12Graham Kramer might well have seen him trying to get it past him down the leg side.
00:18:17But he managed to get something on it.
00:18:21Well, this is what I mean when I say he uses his feet.
00:18:24He's always looking to get to the pitch of the ball to try and smother the spin,
00:18:28whether it be in defense or in attack.
00:18:31Get as close to the ball as possible.
00:18:36Well struck. That's very well struck.
00:18:38It's a big one. It's gone out the park. Six runs.
00:18:41And this man believes in his power.
00:18:45So the previous delivery was slightly tossed up.
00:18:50And Ponting was down the pitch, and now the bowler trying to compensate,
00:18:55the flat one. And Watson was waiting for it.
00:18:58The 50 partnership coming with that massive six from Shane Watson.
00:19:03What the other way is he?
00:19:05A single to finish. 12 off this. Over.
00:19:11119 for one.
00:19:12Well, very quick to transfer his weight onto the back foot.
00:19:18Very quick to transfer his weight onto the back foot.
00:19:22That's a big hit. That is a long, long way.
00:19:31That's nicely played. Firmly struck again.
00:19:34More work for Coventry.
00:19:36Really well done to stop it going over the rope.
00:19:42Well, Zimbabwe's fielding has always been one of its plus points.
00:19:46Outstanding fielding unit.
00:19:49And you can see that from that effort.
00:19:51Straying on the pads. There's a fine leg in the 30-yard circle.
00:19:56It's a lot of work there for that deep square leg.
00:20:08And again, finer this time. Can he get there? No. It's gone for four.
00:20:131.29 for one.
00:20:23Well, that over was just a kind of push that the Australians needed.
00:20:28Already the previous five overs, they had been scoring pretty quickly.
00:20:31And now this over will certainly have helped them.
00:20:35Pretty ordinary bowling by...
00:20:38Bowling at the pads.
00:20:43That's well fielded. Very well fielded.
00:20:46Good job there, Joe!
00:20:51Sean Williams left arm orthodox.
00:20:54Way down the leg side and that should go for four.
00:20:57Yes, it will.
00:20:58So not a very good start for Williams.
00:21:02Yes, he dragged the ball down.
00:21:04And on the leg stump as well.
00:21:06Just what Shane Watson was looking for.
00:21:08He tried to hit it in the air again.
00:21:09He hit it along the ground.
00:21:12Big appeal from Tatenda Taibu in particular.
00:21:28It looked to me as if Kramer decided to go with him.
00:21:30But I think it was probably just slipping down the leg side.
00:21:37Well, I think what the umpire will be looking for is whether the ball hit the pad first as well.
00:21:47I think they have gone for the referral.
00:21:50Hadin was out in a similar manner.
00:21:57Right, well, let's go through the process now.
00:22:00First of all, was it legitimate?
00:22:02Yes, it was.
00:22:03Foot behind the line.
00:22:05So no problems in that area.
00:22:08Now we go to the rest.
00:22:10Was it pitched in line with the stumps?
00:22:11It certainly wasn't outside the line.
00:22:13So, and I think it hit the pad first.
00:22:16Now the question really is, did it spin enough?
00:22:18We'll see where it pitches here.
00:22:20Around about middle.
00:22:21Hits the pad on middle and will go through and hit middle and off.
00:22:25Well, this has got to be out.
00:22:27Given not out.
00:22:28There's no doubt here that Watson is going to go the same way as Hadin.
00:22:38There we are.
00:22:39There's the, up goes the finger.
00:22:41And that's the end of Watson.
00:22:45That's a very, very important wicket.
00:22:48Watson is playing very well.
00:22:50He is beginning to loosen up as well.
00:22:5279 to Watson.
00:22:54So he's on his way back.
00:22:56LBW to Kramer.
00:22:5892 deliveries.
00:22:59And the score now, 140 for two.
00:23:01Michael Clarke is the new batsman.
00:23:05He's in at number four for the Australians.
00:23:07He too is a good player of spin.
00:23:09He likes to use his feet.
00:23:10So we've got two batsmen out there now facing spinners.
00:23:14Both of whom like to get down the pitch.
00:23:16New batsman of the crease.
00:23:30You take some time to get going.
00:23:32That's what Zimbabwe will be hoping.
00:23:34We'll be hoping.
00:23:37Keep up, keep up.
00:23:38He should be looking for two here.
00:23:39Clarke's a good runner.
00:23:41Quick.
00:23:42Oh, and that's close.
00:23:43That's very close.
00:23:44That hit the stumps direct.
00:23:47The umpire referring that one straight upstairs right away.
00:23:51And just looking at Ponting there.
00:23:53The way he was having to stretch towards the end.
00:23:56As he got towards the stumps, this could well be out.
00:23:59Let's have a look.
00:24:00Yes, I think it's short of the crease.
00:24:04I think his body language now, as he awaits the decision, is not too good.
00:24:11And it looks to me as if Ponting's been short of the crease.
00:24:18Yes, that's what the umpire's, third umpire's decision is.
00:24:24It was Mofufu who threw that ball.
00:24:27Wonderful throw there.
00:24:28It was Mofufu who threw that ball down.
00:24:30Lucky Ponting out to 28, 144 for three.
00:24:36That's Cameron White is the new batsman.
00:24:38He's quite a powerful hitter himself.
00:24:43Just 27 years of age.
00:24:44But he'll be at the non-striker's end.
00:24:46Clarke has got the strike now.
00:24:48And that's the last ball of the over.
00:24:51And that's the last ball of the over.
00:24:52So the score moves on now to 145 for three.
00:24:57Yep.
00:24:58There again.
00:25:08He's got some arm.
00:25:15Yes!
00:25:16Well played.
00:25:17Well played.
00:25:18Very good shot.
00:25:19Smashed away to backward point.
00:25:20And Pufu's there again.
00:25:22Oh, and have a look at that throw.
00:25:25He's got a rocket arm.
00:25:26Magnificent throw again.
00:25:28Long enough those arms of his, I've got to tell you that.
00:25:31But boy, he's got a good action.
00:25:33Tremendous throwing arm.
00:25:35And I'll tell you what.
00:25:36They won't be looking for any extra runs once he's got the ball in his hand.
00:25:40That is a good flat throw.
00:25:48Yes, he's very gangly and tall guy and not much of him.
00:25:52But he gets moving around the boundary.
00:25:53Look at the pickup here.
00:25:54He gets rid of it quite quickly too.
00:25:56That elbow is nice and high.
00:25:59And he doesn't, he doesn't half let it rip.
00:26:14Straight back to the bowler.
00:26:23Short from it, so yeah.
00:26:24This will get to the boundary for four.
00:26:27Probably just thought that the batsman was coming at him.
00:26:29The batsman was coming at him.
00:26:30And he dropped his length a little, but he stayed in his crease,
00:26:31Michael Clarke and in the end, put it away pretty comfortably.
00:26:36Michael Clarke and in the end, put it away pretty comfortably.
00:26:45Yeah, lads.
00:26:47Good, buddy. Good, run.
00:26:52And the last man to go was the captain, the Australian captain,
00:26:56Australian captain Ricky Ponting took on the arm of Christopher Poffel out in the deep, and here it was.
00:27:06Most amazing thing. That's up in the air. This could be out. Oh, he's put it down.
00:27:11It was the opportunity. Cameron White taking on Raymond Price, and Craig Irvin it is down at mid-wicket.
00:27:20Just didn't get there. Yeah, I think it bounced just in front of him.
00:27:24Good delivery there from Ray Price.
00:27:33That's a good shot. He's got it pretty straight. Straight enough to go for four.
00:27:38So Prospero Tseya, when I was just lauding the way that he was able to get it full and straightened up in the block hole,
00:27:44well, that was the perfect length. Michael Clarke spotted it and put it away.
00:27:50Very difficult to defend if he can't get it up into that block hole.
00:27:54He's shaped to give himself a bit of room, did Michael Clarke,
00:28:06and then went inside the line and got it past the man at short, fine leg.
00:28:09200 up for Australia.
00:28:15Yeah, Clarke on this occasion, looking to hit the offside,
00:28:17but the bowler angling it down the leg side, and it's a free hit, really.
00:28:22When you've got fine leg up there, you only have to beat him left or right by a few feet.
00:28:26He's bowled him.
00:28:33Yeah, he's got him. He didn't look comfortable out there, Cameron White.
00:28:38It's struggled, really, to get going.
00:28:41And Christopher Mpofful, well, he's accounted for him off the last ball of the power play overs.
00:28:46Yeah, Cameron White looking to heave this ball over mid-wicker.
00:28:52Another slow ball off-cutter, just getting a bottom edge.
00:28:55So the change of pace, doing the trick there.
00:28:58And Cameron White departs.
00:29:02Just the 22 off 36 balls.
00:29:05Australia now 207 for four.
00:29:07David Hussey, the new man for Australia.
00:29:22That's up in the air, and I think will go all the way.
00:29:26Big hit from David Hussey.
00:29:28Down the wicket, and got enough on it to get it over the ropes.
00:29:32Well, to walk in, and on your second delivery, dispatch it straight over the side screen comfortably.
00:29:39It's not an easy task, and that's exactly what David Hussey's done there.
00:29:50Good comeback from Williams.
00:29:5146 gone, 216 for four.
00:29:59This is it, David Hussey, getting good connection.
00:30:02Hitting up straight and long.
00:30:10Can make a difference.
00:30:12That's a nice shot.
00:30:13What a shot that is.
00:30:14Great timing on that.
00:30:16It's David Hussey once again.
00:30:18He's come out with aggressive intent, and he's executed well in a couple of shots here.
00:30:23Well, this is great adjustment.
00:30:27Using his feet, didn't quite get to it, but he waited for it.
00:30:30That was the key.
00:30:31He waited for that delivery, so he timed it for perfection.
00:30:34Oh, it's off the pad.
00:30:44Misdirected by the bowler.
00:30:45No, it's off the bat.
00:30:46Gone for four.
00:30:47Given four by the umpire.
00:30:48Well, bonus boundary for the Australians.
00:30:57Again, erring down the leg side.
00:31:02Clark getting a little faint edge on that.
00:31:05Beating Timbertaibu behind the stumps.
00:31:08Not the tallest keeper in world cricket.
00:31:12So his outstretched arm is not a particularly big outstretched arm.
00:31:24Nicely played onto the onside.
00:31:26He'll be searching for a second.
00:31:28And gets a second run.
00:31:30Good work.
00:31:31Good running.
00:31:3250 up as well for Michael Clark.
00:31:36It's come off 50 balls.
00:31:44A 46th one-day international 50 for Michael Clark.
00:31:57In the gap.
00:31:59That's very well played.
00:32:01Intentionally going inside the ball.
00:32:03Getting it over cover.
00:32:04And getting for 15 off the over.
00:32:07It's 2.41 for four.
00:32:16Clever shot here by Michael Clark.
00:32:18Giving himself room.
00:32:19And this is all about timing and placement.
00:32:22Working the ball over that extra cover fieldsman.
00:32:25And Hussie will be looking to see which areas he can go for.
00:32:31He can clear the rope.
00:32:32He can clear the rope.
00:32:35Got him.
00:32:35Got him.
00:32:35He's bowled him.
00:32:37Down the wicket.
00:32:38David Hussie looking to attack.
00:32:40And Raymond Price gets past him.
00:32:43And it's a wicket for Zimbabwe.
00:32:45A big one.
00:32:46Well, the experience of Price paying off.
00:32:49Clever, clever bowler.
00:32:51It's a big wicket.
00:32:52David Hussie, as he's shown, has the ability to fall out of the ground.
00:32:55On this occasion, there's no contact whatsoever.
00:32:59And that's the roar of Price.
00:33:03The pleasure of the wicket of David Hussie.
00:33:05Gone for 14.
00:33:06Australia, 241 for five.
00:33:11Steve Smith walks in at seven for Australia.
00:33:15And he's looking to strike some lusty blows.
00:33:18To finish with a flourish for Australia.
00:33:20They're 241 for five.
00:33:22Oh, catch was the call.
00:33:29It's gone very straight.
00:33:30And it's gone for four.
00:33:32Good start for Smith.
00:33:34Terrific strike.
00:33:36First up by Steve Smith.
00:33:38Can be considered as a little bit unorthodoxed in the way he goes about it.
00:33:43And there you go.
00:33:43There's a good example.
00:33:44First ball giving himself room like a baseball swat down the ground.
00:33:49Four more.
00:33:49And long off was in the wrong place.
00:33:53He was a long way wide.
00:33:56And Tatenda Tybal behind the Stump Sums outstretched.
00:34:01That's up in the air.
00:34:03That's gone all the way as well.
00:34:04A four and a six to start for Steve Smith.
00:34:08Brings up the 250 for Australia.
00:34:12Well, this is one of the reasons this young batting all-rounder
00:34:16is fancied by the Australian selectors.
00:34:20He has got that little bit of X-factor about him.
00:34:22Go, go, go, go!
00:34:23Go, go, go!
00:34:26Smith on strike.
00:34:27On 11 from three.
00:34:31It's up in the air.
00:34:32There's a man out there.
00:34:33Simple catch.
00:34:34Regis Chacapa makes absolutely no mistake.
00:34:43Yeah, good catch out in the deep.
00:34:46Facing the sunshine there.
00:34:47It was a full delivery.
00:34:50Smith clipping that off his pads.
00:34:52Looking straight into the sun there, making no mistake whatsoever.
00:34:56So a good wicket early.
00:34:57Seeing how dangerous Smith can be just in the short visit.
00:35:00Four balls he faced for the 11.
00:35:02Australia now 254 for six.
00:35:06Mitchell Johnson has walked out to the middle for Australia.
00:35:14Well bowled.
00:35:15Very well bowled.
00:35:16Oh, it's got to be sent back.
00:35:19Take the dot.
00:35:19Right in the block hole from Chris and Paul Foote.
00:35:27Perfect execution towards the end of the innings.
00:35:29It's exactly where you want your quick bowlers to be bowling up.
00:35:32Right up on that block hole.
00:35:35At the batsman's feet, this is even tailed in a little bit.
00:35:39Michael Clarke's been at the crease for a long time
00:35:41and even he couldn't work that away for just a one.
00:35:48That's for me, Strzok.
00:35:49That's for me, Strzok.
00:35:51Oopsie!
00:35:51Missed field.
00:35:54Didn't quite get a hold of it as he was going to throw it.
00:35:57Just slipped out the hands.
00:35:59The slightest of fumbles at this stage really can cost you that extra run.
00:36:03Michael Clarke on that occasion.
00:36:05Running that first one very, very hard.
00:36:08Reaping the reward for that hard work.
00:36:10Getting too comfortably.
00:36:16Just three off the over so far.
00:36:18Two balls to go.
00:36:19The wicket has fallen as well, so good job done by Mbofui, he's got to finish well.
00:36:29It's up and over, and it's going to go for four.
00:36:33But just the man at mid-wicket can't afford to go on that leg side, Chris Mbofui,
00:36:40and it's a good shot by Mitchell Johnson, just helping it onto that leg side,
00:36:44knowing there's no cover on the fence.
00:36:49Yeah, lovely flick, and I can't help but think that it just makes it harder
00:36:55for the bowler when he's having to deliver to a left-hander,
00:36:58and this is the first left-hander in Australia's line-up to date.
00:37:02Already it's shown that it's created a challenge for the bowler,
00:37:07he's having to bowl around the wicket, so it's changing his tactic
00:37:11where he's been over the wicket all day.
00:37:15The last ball of this innings.
00:37:25If you're looking for a second, Michael Clarke, it's not there.
00:37:28So Australia end 262 for six in their 50 overs.
00:37:34So after a very cautious and un-Australian start, just 32 scored from the first 13 overs,
00:37:45the holders eventually found their feet.
00:37:47Shane Watson upped his rake to finish top scorer with 79 off 92 balls,
00:37:51and Michael Clarke made sure his side had a decent total to defend with a well-composed unbeaten 58.
00:37:59Christian Porfu carried the seamers' burden well at the top of the innings,
00:38:03and although slightly expensive, finished with two wickets.
00:38:06The decision to rely heavily on spin probably paid off for Zimbabwe,
00:38:10as Price, Utseya and Kramer were all hard to get away,
00:38:13but they perhaps could have done with an extra bowler to support them.
00:38:17So certainly not the huge target that many expected,
00:38:20but it would still require having to go at over five and over.
00:38:25The defending champions' World Cup campaign got off to a disappointing start.
00:38:30Once again, Watson was the backbone of the innings,
00:38:33and Clarke chipped in with a half century,
00:38:35but Zimbabwe would have been delighted with restricting Australia to just 262.
00:38:41So could Zimbabwe chase down this relatively modest total and shock the world number ones?
00:38:48Brendan Taylor, he's the man opening the batting for Zimbabwe.
00:38:57He's 25 years of age, and has really come on this year.
00:39:01ICC ODI ranking of 38, and he started well down prior to the beginning of this season.
00:39:07The man opening the batting with him will be Charles Coventry,
00:39:12and a bit of an enigma, Charles Coventry.
00:39:1427 years of age, 92nd in the ICC ODI rankings.
00:39:22We saw evidence in the first innings that the pitch was a little on the slow side,
00:39:25and that might definitely aid the Zimbabweans in countering this pace from the Australians.
00:39:30Here comes Tate.
00:39:33Straight away off the mark, nicely behind it, Brendan Taylor.
00:39:37Lack of a length, and he called the run very quickly, and Coventry responded.
00:39:43That's a glorious shot. It really is. Yes, it was a half volley. It was right up there,
00:39:52but he waited for it nicely and just leant on it.
00:39:55He really can time the cricket ball, this bloke.
00:39:58And from Zimbabwean perspective, need him to hang about.
00:40:01Well, he might have glasses, but he saw that one all right.
00:40:07That really raced off the bat. That's the thing about pace bowling.
00:40:14That's the thing about pace bowling.
00:40:19Just worked off the hips. They should get back for two.
00:40:34and Brendan Taylor is one of those blokes we heard a pre-match interview he was under
00:40:39no illusion that some of this stuff would happen
00:40:49time at that well Coventry but nicely behind it just a punch into the covers and
00:40:54ponting has his field set very square so any time you can get behind it and get it in front
00:41:00this runs to be had that's what he can do that is an amazing shot a bit of width
00:41:09offered to Charles Coventry frees his arms and whacks it away over point for six
00:41:17oh that was an amazing shot it uh it didn't just clear the rope
00:41:23it went a good 10 meters over the boundary and it went not very high all
00:41:32the way but it was the moment it hit the bat it was a six
00:41:42there we go and uh he's gonna go well might have put the commentator's curse on him but
00:41:48that's exactly what we've become accustomed to with Charles Coventry he looks a million dollars
00:41:54one minute and then takes on the shot that he's not used to playing it's not in his repertoire
00:41:59and he's done it on that occasion he's tried to pull bretley should have just got under it nowhere
00:42:03near in the right position lobs it straight up in the air bretley well clutches it not very convincingly
00:42:10but the result is uh Coventry still out he's gone for 14 Zimbabwe now 22 for one
00:42:19in at number three for Zimbabwe to tender taboo very experienced campaigner
00:42:27that's a beauty online well played too
00:42:30I'll tell you what that is a superb shot I've seen this bloke play that shot time and time
00:42:42again in South Africa to the South African quick bowlers they pitched it short and he just glides
00:42:47it off the face over like first slip very deliberate and very well executed yeah very clever very clever
00:42:55all controlled watched it right onto his blade there look at that beautifully played and it's a
00:43:01dangerous shot when you're thinking about it you've got a third man in place so you could easily just
00:43:06paddle that down straight down third man's throat but the control of that shot was superb
00:43:10he got that straight over first slip's head
00:43:12lovely shot lovely piece of fielding good cricket all round in the eighth over 30 for one
00:43:28i see nice don to the onside thoughts of two here and very well run
00:43:34the ball didn't get outside the 30-yard circle there's an appeal for a run out and he seems pretty happy
00:43:41about it david hussey it's gone upstairs to be reviewed by the third umpire
00:43:49it'd be pretty irresponsible as the batsman if you haven't grounded your bat in
00:43:58and comfortably in comfortably in but you always have to check with a direct hit you just never know
00:44:03so confirmation then
00:44:13well struck very well struck and it races to the fence for four
00:44:17it's tybu who finally gets one away
00:44:22well that'll be a relief the pressure was building you could see it you could feel it and
00:44:27down this occasion redly just giving that bit of width and tybu jumping all over it
00:44:33all it need to do is find the gap and it did
00:44:41gotta hurry gotta hurry oh i tell you what that would have been gone
00:44:47and he's a very good feel that ricky pointing and a lot of the time he does hit the target
00:44:51well that's the other advantage of having ricky pointing a mid off is that when you try to take
00:44:57on mid off you've got someone like him who's uh so quick to get to the ball and release the ball and
00:45:04as you said pommy is normally on target and on that occasion he's not used to missing not happy at all was
00:45:10he not happy and that would be because he had well three stumps to aim at from mid off
00:45:17got him looking to run it down to third man and he's got it straight to the man at slip a really good
00:45:26catch low to the left watson terrific catch he's a wide slip there wide first slip it flew to him low to
00:45:37the left reward for johnson's control and line and there watson cleaned up for him and made it very
00:45:44worthwhile for him and the australians taboo goes for seven off 17 deliveries and zimbabwe 40 for two
00:45:54craig uervine has entered the middle for zimbabwe batting at number four
00:45:59he's gone through him it's tailed back just a touch from sean tay onto the pad and then onto the stumps
00:46:15another wicket goes down i think he attempted yorkum brendan taylor had been shaping up quite well keeping his
00:46:22eye on the ball right in the end but the short ball was called but uh yes just trying to work it away
00:46:28i don't think it was anything special just deflection off the pad just one of those
00:46:32those things that happened it's a 40 for three
00:46:43zimbabwe's captain elton chugumbura walks in at number five they've lost a couple of quick wickets here
00:46:51they need to resurrect the inning somewhat get a partnership together at the end of the bowling
00:46:59prospectus here speaking said a couple of good partnerships up front is what is required
00:47:06it's gone fine very fine it's gone for four off the pad as well
00:47:14oh hello didn't pick that up at all found himself in no man's land and had to take the blow
00:47:20oh yes he dropped his wrists didn't want to fend it off and they got hit on the grill
00:47:31big shout huge shout is thinking about it ahsoka da silva and it's a shake of the head there'll be
00:47:37consultation between keeper and captain and straight away and hadden says to
00:47:42to ricky ponting you've got to go upstairs for that so it will be a review
00:47:56first check for the no ball is he behind the line yes absolutely no trouble with that whatsoever
00:48:03and now has it picture nine yes pitches a nine strikes him
00:48:14you'd say
00:48:17there's absolutely no bat involved there
00:48:23that's what the umpires would be checking for if there's a
00:48:25that's what the umpires would be checking for if there's a bit of bat on it
00:48:32nope the bat is late it's behind the pad
00:48:36and the final thing to find out is is it in line impact in line pitching in line hitting the wickets
00:48:44even not out
00:48:45and the decision will be given well will be changed and it will be given us out
00:48:59so good to silver to right to the wrong there you go
00:49:04given out
00:49:05so good to silver to right to the right to the right to the right to the right to the right to
00:49:18get out 44 for three zimbabwe make it 44 for four
00:49:20He's got a lot of work to do for Zimbabwe, off the pad, down to the boundary for four.
00:49:40A much-needed boundary, that for Zimbabwe.
00:49:43He's been bogged down in the 40s and unable to get the ball away.
00:49:51Well, first runs of the bat, off 17 balls, and once again, every time Sean Tate
00:49:57strays onto the leg side, he gets taken for runs simply because of the pace that he generates.
00:50:04So even a little tickle, little deflection.
00:50:07There again, there again.
00:50:09But of course, Brad Haddon's got his gloves to it, and that's what's allowed...
00:50:12Oops, oops, oops!
00:50:19That's well played. That's a very good shot.
00:50:22That was into the slot, and didn't run it too hard.
00:50:25You don't have to when it's that quick.
00:50:2754 for four.
00:50:31Lovely timing by Jigumbara. Just leaning into that too.
00:50:36Look at that, just leaning into the drive, not trying to hit it too hard.
00:50:39Ball going smack bang off the middle of the bat, and in the gap as well.
00:50:45Lovely shot.
00:50:47Ooh, and straight away tossing it up, and, well, that's a bit unlucky.
00:51:02It wasn't that bad a delivery.
00:51:06Thick edge, maybe in a test match situation he would have had another slip.
00:51:12With four wickets down.
00:51:14Just reaching for that delivery of Williams, getting a thick edge.
00:51:18That's in the air, and there's no one back there.
00:51:28It's a good shot too.
00:51:30All the way for Seksamek.
00:51:32Never some shot into that.
00:51:33Lovely timing there.
00:51:34Williams deciding that, well, he's just got to get on with it.
00:51:38He's decided that Kraser's the man he's going to go after.
00:51:41Well, obviously, seeing that this is the best one to target rather than the quicker bowlers.
00:51:46Tate and Lee will not be easy to be hit for sixes.
00:51:51Certainly not like this.
00:51:55Oh, well bowled.
00:51:57That's very well bowled.
00:51:58Not scared to toss it up.
00:52:00It spun.
00:52:01It beat everything.
00:52:03And ends up going through to the boundary.
00:52:07But four byes.
00:52:09So that's now 84 for four.
00:52:13That's in the air.
00:52:16Yes, and he's gone.
00:52:18And interestingly enough, Haddon, just in case, decided, righto, I'll take the bails off because the batsman may, I suppose he was thinking, may not be given out.
00:52:28But he was walking in any event.
00:52:31So that's a big blow.
00:52:32That partnership comes to an end.
00:52:35There it goes.
00:52:36Haddon takes the catch.
00:52:37You watch him here.
00:52:38Takes the catch and then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:40So chicken boot up.
00:52:45And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:46And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:47And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:48And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:49And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:50And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:51And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:52And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:53And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:54And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:55And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:56And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:57And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:58And then comes running back, whips the bails off.
00:52:59got him really good catch those are difficult ones he was playing away to the leg side he
00:53:11was unsighted would have been unsighted for a while shane watson and that reverse swing
00:53:16when he's got one to go across the left-handed sean williams no feet at all and there we go
00:53:21just trying to play it away on the leg side outside edge good low catch by shane watson so
00:53:28tate strikes for australia in zimbabwe lose another wicked six down now they are for 96 williams
00:53:34gone for 28 in at number eight for zimbabwe prospered say a former captain called really
00:53:43well this afternoon 10 overs one for 43 he's got a job to do now with the bat
00:53:58big appeal now yeah he's given him not a great choice of shot from regis to cover and i don't
00:54:07know what he was doing trying to pull that particular delivery but it looked a strange choice and look
00:54:13to me that i hit him right in front
00:54:20yeah there's no doubt about that i think he had a little word with the the non-striker prospered say
00:54:24and prospered say nodded and said yeah i think that's dead mate and he's quite right
00:54:30and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and that's dead mate and
00:55:00I'm not sure if you are going to make a mistake, but
00:55:03I'm not sure if you are going to make a mistake, but
00:55:05you are going to make a mistake, but you are going to make a mistake,
00:55:10but outside the line. Well, Richard Kettleborough, the
00:55:12umpire at that end, he's got a pretty cool head. He's pretty
00:55:15pretty new to the international scene, but he's done very well
00:55:17from what I've seen. That's the end of the over.
00:55:21Zimbabwe now 105 for seven. That's a good call.
00:55:25turn back on the inside edge up in the air but finds the gap does graham creamer and
00:55:40that gets it away for very welcome boundary and that's the first boundary after 15 overs
00:55:49play and quite a streaky one really just lifting it over the leg side but just wide of mid wicket
00:56:02down rick down brilliant bonting at cover
00:56:13up in the air catches the call it's cameron mike trying to get there doesn't
00:56:19ball lands safely a single to prosper would say
00:56:27yeah it stayed up in the air a long long time i just wonder whether white at first felt
00:56:32that it was going to easily reach him
00:56:41oh that's well bold a really well directed bounce and in trying to evade it graham creamer gets some
00:56:48רגgier gets some bat on it and it goes over the keeper for four
00:56:55good bouncer right on line
00:57:06tate that's gone very fine is he's been trying to do that
00:57:11He gets it fine for four.
00:57:19Frustration for Sean Tate, but you'd have to say that was well executed,
00:57:24just opening the face, using the pace of the bowler.
00:57:27There's no slip in place, so he's got an open paddock there
00:57:31to run the ball down to third man.
00:57:34Gone fine, very fine, four runs.
00:57:42Brings up the 150 for Zimbabwe.
00:57:47Well, with the extra pace, any time the ball goes off the bat,
00:57:54particularly edges like this, it's going to go for boundary.
00:57:59That is what extra pace can do.
00:58:02Sean Tate can well be upset with himself,
00:58:05but maybe he needs to get the ball a little further up.
00:58:11David Hussey to continue.
00:58:13Easily played that by the crossbow.
00:58:15He gets a couple of runs.
00:58:17Can you get it, five up?
00:58:26David Hussey is a spin-balling option
00:58:28that the Australians have been using,
00:58:31even in the warm-up matches.
00:58:36Oh, yes!
00:58:37Taken.
00:58:38A simple catch to mid-wicket.
00:58:40Crossbow Ter just looking to play a drive down the ground to mid-on.
00:58:46Presents...
00:58:48Ricky Ponting with an easy catch.
00:58:50Eight down now, Zimbabwe.
00:58:52Well, what a soft dismissal.
00:58:55Just...
00:58:56Stroking the ball, not even with any power to Ricky Ponting at mid-wicket.
00:59:02He doesn't miss those catches.
00:59:04They have lost their eighth wicket for 1.53.
00:59:07Utse out for 24.
00:59:13Raymond Price walks to the wicket for Zimbabwe.
00:59:16Oh, what a shot.
00:59:18Very well played by Graham Kramer.
00:59:20He was waiting for it.
00:59:21It was short.
00:59:22And he put it away for four.
00:59:251-6-1 for eight.
00:59:29Well, that boundary brings him to his highest score in ODIs.
00:59:34But he's been pretty good with the bat.
00:59:38But he's been pretty good with the bat.
00:59:47Oh!
00:59:48Well, that sconed him.
00:59:50But he's still standing and running.
00:59:53Raymond Price.
00:59:54Good boy, Mitch!
00:59:57Well, he's taken a few blows for his country.
00:59:59You have to say that he took one on the hands,
01:00:02and now this one on the head.
01:00:04Taking his eyes off the ball.
01:00:08He's, after all, a number 10 batsman.
01:00:11Not quite expected to handle the short delivery.
01:00:24Well, good catch.
01:00:25Brad Haddon diving away to his right.
01:00:27Takes a terrific catch there.
01:00:29So Mitchell Johnson with an angle across the right-hander
01:00:33has brought Graham Kramer's innings to an end.
01:00:38Well, he played well, Kramer.
01:00:40Just trying to play up on the upper, as they say,
01:00:42without taking his foot to the pitch of the ball.
01:00:45Fine low catch by Brad Haddon.
01:00:48Mitchell Johnson gets another wicket.
01:00:50He's got three for 18 now.
01:00:51It's 1.67 for nine.
01:00:54Well, Australia have collected nine wickets.
01:00:57That brings to the crease, Christopher Mporfo.
01:01:01That brings to the crease, Christopher Mporfo.
01:01:03They're opening poller.
01:01:05They're opening poller.
01:01:06He's off the mark immediately.
01:01:10He's off the mark immediately.
01:01:12But Kramer played pretty well.
01:01:1537 from 51 deliveries before he was out to a good catch.
01:01:20Taken by Brad Haddon.
01:01:24No footwork there, but then he's been playing on the up.
01:01:27And getting the ball through the covers.
01:01:29But this is a terrific catch by Brad Haddon.
01:01:32His ball was dying on him as well.
01:01:34And moving away from him.
01:01:42That's a good one to start with.
01:01:48Well, that was the toe crusher.
01:01:51Mporfo.
01:01:53Angling in. Reverse swing.
01:02:00Mporfo just about getting his bat down in time.
01:02:03That's nicely timed, but there is a man back.
01:02:10He's trying to get that Yorker, but he's not getting it on target.
01:02:22He's trying to get that Yorker, but he's not getting it on target.
01:02:23Just straying down the leg side.
01:02:28Of both.
01:02:35Of both.
01:02:36And powerful.
01:02:45Oh, that's a he's done and Danny Morrison.
01:02:47He's headbutted it.
01:02:48I've been spending a bit of time with Danny of late.
01:02:52I saw one in Australia.
01:02:54I didn't realise that apparently he did it two or three times in his career,
01:02:57but that's a classic.
01:03:11Just four overs to be bowled in this match.
01:03:14Australia would be a little annoyed that they haven't finished this off.
01:03:17Mitchell Johnson getting the opportunity with his last over.
01:03:22He's coming around the wicket.
01:03:38Well, this is, I think, a pretty good move.
01:03:40He's bowled well over the wicket.
01:03:42But somewhere down the line in some of the other matches to come,
01:03:46he might be needed to bowl around the wickets.
01:03:49It's a good idea to try and bowl that to the number 10 and 11 batsman.
01:03:59And a catch taken there by Brad Haddon, a much simpler catch.
01:04:03So hitting the outside edge from around the wicket,
01:04:06Mitchell Johnson has done the trick.
01:04:08Australia have won this game and they've won it by 91 runs over Zimbabwe.
01:04:20So in the end, Australia's fast men were just too hard to handle for the young Zimbabwean batsmen.
01:04:25No one played the major innings required, which meant that they were never really in the run chase.
01:04:30And it was left to number nine, Graham Kramer, to make the top score.
01:04:35Lee and Tate were solid, if not spectacular.
01:04:37But Mitchell Johnson outshone them both with his four for 19.
01:04:41Jason Kraser would also have been pretty happy with his World Cup debut.
01:04:45As his side's primary spinner, he could well be bowling plenty of overs during the next few weeks.
01:04:50Australia then, not as convincing as they would have liked,
01:04:55but they've still won by 91 runs and extended their unbeaten run in World Cups to 30 games.
01:05:01After the match, Tony Gregg spoke to both captains.
01:05:06Well, congratulations first of all.
01:05:08Your winning run continues.
01:05:10It's, what, 24 in a row now as captain?
01:05:12Yeah, thanks for reminding me about that.
01:05:14Yeah, no, good start for us today.
01:05:16I thought Zimbabwe bowled and fielded particularly well.
01:05:18A really slow wicket, tough to get any pace on the ball when the spinners came on.
01:05:23And, you know, they bowled 38 or 39 overs of spin today.
01:05:25So we just kept ourselves in the game, got ourselves a decent enough total.
01:05:29And we knew that if we bowled well, there should have been enough runs.
01:05:31I thought we were restrictive to the score that we wanted to chase.
01:05:34But I think we just have to work on our batting.
01:05:37We didn't put runs on the board.
01:05:39I thought it was a good wicket to bat on.
01:05:41Elton, you must have been very happy with the way your bowlers performed
01:05:44because you did a good job to restrict the Australians early on.
01:05:47Yeah, I was very happy with the bowling department.
01:05:50Obviously, the fifth ball is something that we have to work on as well.
01:05:53But overall, I thought the bowling and fielding was superb.
01:05:58Oh, yeah, it's a nice, solid day today.
01:06:00It took me a little while to get going, get used to the conditions
01:06:03and sort of find my way of exactly how I was going to score out there.
01:06:06They bowled nicely with the new ball.
01:06:08The spinners I found a little bit difficult to get away to start with.
01:06:12But it's nice to be able to play different innings and sort of find your way.
01:06:15So I thought it was a nice, solid game from all of us.
01:06:18So it's a good way to start.
01:06:19Well, it's good to run into the spinners as well
01:06:21because there's no way you're going to get away from them during this tournament.
01:06:24That's exactly right.
01:06:25It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of spin is bowled to us,
01:06:28especially if the ball is turning a bit.
01:06:30It didn't really turn that much today, but it was more so just a little bit slow.
01:06:33So, yeah, it's a good time to get a bit of practicing.
01:06:36And opening the batting with an offspinner, bowling the first over, a little different?
01:06:40It is definitely, yeah.
01:06:41It's not something that, especially in Australia, you don't really come up against that much.
01:06:44But I'm pretty sure it's going to happen a bit more often throughout this tournament.
01:06:47So it's a good way to be able to get some good practicing.
